Swaps for first-ever Stampin’ Up! OnStage Event

This past weekend I was excited to attend the first-ever OnStage event that Stampin’ Up! held globally throughout all if the markets in all countries.  The closest one to my home in Rochester, NY, was Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, so we all headed north and over the border.  Here’s a picture of some of those from my team in attendance.  In all, I think we were about 14 – including my 3-month-old granddaughter Aubrey pictured with her mama!

As event attendees, we got to preview the new Occasions Catalog as well as this year’s Sale-A-Bration brochure, even before other demonstrators!  And all I can say is man, oh, man – Stampin’ Up! did it again!  Wait until you see these two amazing publications!

One of the highlights of any Stampin’ Up! event is swapping.  Today I’ll show you the swap I created especially for this event.  Then later I’ll share some of the fabulous swap cards I received in trade.

Since the majority of my Christmas card designing is already over, I chose to create a Valentine’s Day card, since that’s our next major holiday.  And I just LOVE making cards for this special occasion – all the pinks and reds are so fun!

• I began my card using the stamp set Groovy Love for the hearts and an additional set called Something to Say for the sentiment.  So that the stamped zebra heart was more substantial and traveled well, I used Stampin’ Up! Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  It’s a heavier weight paper and so I was able to pop up that image on Dimensionals and have it look really nice.
• The Sweetheart Punch lines up beautifully with the zebra print heart, and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits gave me the small heart border, as well as the larger Silver Foil heart.
• Rounding the corners of the Whisper White Cardstock added some interest.
• Lots of little embellishments on this one!  The white heart on the Silver Foil heart is just one of the hearts that punched out of the border.  I added a Cherry Cobbler Candy Dot from the Regals Candy Dots Collection, and Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine is wrapped around the card front three times and tied in a bow.
• Dazzling Diamonds is held onto the little Cherry Cobbler heart with Two-Way Glue.

I made 40 swaps – it’s always fun to see them all together!

• Stampin’ Up! Cellophane Envelopes kept all my swaps clean and neat while traveling.  I highly recommend them!

Straight to My Heart

It's time to think about Valentine's Day – the second biggest holiday for card making!  And Stampin' Up! has a wonderful stamp set called Love You More with five fantastic images.  You'll get lots of different images with this one.  Here I've used the "straight to my heart" stamp to create a masculine Valentine.

• Stuck on color scheme?  Once again, I turned to the Color Coach for help.  I'd never have thought of these on my own, but I love the look – Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango, Smoky Slate and then I threw in a little Basic Black to set it off.
• Our new Arrows Embossing Folder fits right in with the arrow theme in the stamped image.
• You'll want to purchase a Designer Series Paper Stack in the color scheme you use most.  Here I've used the Tangerine Tango designer paper from the Brights Collection to add some polka dot fun.
• Use the Heart Framelits to cut out a couple cute little hearts for a nice accent.
• Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon is masculine enough for the manliest man!
• Neutral Candy Dots are the perfect little embellishment.

More Valentines from Leadership Conference

We were treated to such a cute display of cards at the Leadership Conference in January made by fellow demonstrators.  The Stampin' Up! home office had the idea that everyone bring samples of their best work and display them on a clothesline.  I took lots of pictures!

This one highlights so many great products – PS I Love You stamp set, Fashionable Hearts and Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Dies, Adorning Accents and Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine!  Whew – all in one gorgeous card!

I love the "unexpectedness" of the color scheme in this card – Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder.  It also features PS I Love You stamp set, along with the brand new Hearts Collection Framelits Dies, Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper and Sweet Shop Jelly Bean Brads.

This is a gorgeous example of combining some of the new Sale-A-Bration exclusive items – Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and Outlined Occasions stamp set.  Love the Clothespins and clothesline made with White Baker's Twine.  Hearts I believe are mostly punched with Heart to Heart Punch.

Love You!

I'm really happy with the way this simple card turned out.  We often give our valentines to a man, so I wanted to keep this one fairly masculine.  And trust me – the new Twitterpated Designer Paper will become your best friend!  One side is decidedly feminine while the other side isn't so flowery.  It's the perfect collection of papers!  I've used the "love you" sentiment from PS I Love You in the new Occasions Mini Catalog, and the nifty embossed heart is made with the Big Shot and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.  The Riding Hood Red background gets a dressing up with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I added a sweet Basic Gray Button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons with a bow of White Baker's Twine.  Don't forget the Mini Glue Dots – they're perfect for adhering the button to the card.

Sweetheart Valentine

I love mixing the new and the older products together – it freshens up what I already own and makes it look totally different!  This card is just that combination.  I've used the stamp set Sweetheart which has been around for a little bit but it takes on a new look using the 2011-12 In Colors and brand new designer paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog called Sweet Shop.  The new catalog contains an entire Sweet Shop Product Suite with stamp sets, designer stickers and lots of fun embellishments.  One side of the designer paper has images of cakes, candy, cupcakes and ice cream cones, and the other side of the paper has lots of heart images perfect for Valentine's Day.  The sentiment comes from a new stamp set called PS I Love You.  I've made the confetti for the Heart Treat Cups from the Small Heart Punch.  You'll want to be sure to purchase the Full Heart Punch that creates a perfect fit for the treat cup.  Some Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon adds a nice touch.

Sent With Love
