Note Card Set for a Bridal Shower

I was recently invited to a bridal shower for a dear friend and stamping customer. Along with choosing something from her registry, I gave her a set of hand-stamped thank you cards in her wedding colors. These were so much fun to make and super easy! Just use Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes!
I’ll give you the details on creating these pretty cards in a minute, but first I want to show you the box I made especially to house these pretty cards in.

I’m super excited about how this darling box turned out, especially since I created it completely on my own. Create a unique box for anything by simply knowing what your completed box needs to hold and measuring the space needed.
Cardstock for box measures 9-1/2″ x 8″; score at 2″ and 7-1/2″ the long way and 2″ and 6″ the short way. Be sure to use your Simply Scored Tool for perfect scoring lines.
Once your Tear & Tape Adhesive is in place, just peel off the coating strip and adhere the corners inside the adjacent side of the box.
The cardstock for the lid 7-5/8″ x 6-1/8″. Score at 1″ in on all 4 sides then cut into the cardstock and adhere just like the bottom of the box in Night of Navy cardstock.

Decorating the top was super fun!
- The top of the box is Tempting Turquoise designer paper from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Stack.
- I wrapped the box with a piece of Silver 5/8″ Satin Ribbon.
- Next I adhered a Silver Metallic Foil Doily over the ribbon.
- I cut a circle from Whisper White Cardstock using Circle Framelits. Circle Framelits are on the retiring product list!
- Next I created a tag using Perfect Pennants stamp set. This versatile stamp set is retiring, too – it’s a must have in your collection! I stamped using VersaMark Ink onto Night of Navy cardstock, then sprinkled on Silver Embossing Powder and set it with the Heat Tool.
- I also created the two silver banner pieces at the end in much the same way. I stamped on Whisper White Cardstock using VersMark Ink, then used Silver Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. That image is also in the Perfect Pennants stamp set.
- I added an Iced Rhinestone Embellishment and created a bow with the Bow Builder Punch used with a piece of Silver Foil Sheet.
A set of 12 cards and envelopes pops into this sweet box and makes a special presentation!
Now back to my cards!

- Creating a gift of a large set of cards couldn’t be easier with the Note Cards & Envelopes. I cut a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock to create a border, then an additional Whisper White piece of cardstock a little smaller to act as my card front.
- I used Work of Art stamp set to create the “swooshes” – they’re stamped in Tempting Turquoise Ink and I began with a fully inked stamp then just stamped three times without reinking the stamp.
- Next I stamped the Watercolor Thank You stamp using Night of Navy Ink. This terrific single stamp (wood mount only) is on the retiring list so be sure to grab it for this and many other projects!
- A little butterfly from Tempting Turquoise cardstock gives the cards a bit of dimension – just use the Bitty Butterfly Punch.
- A row of three Rhinestones dresses up the butterfly nicely.
I texted my sister in Arizona a picture of my completed set and she just had to have one too! I made her a set in Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango. These turned out pretty, too – you could use any two colors you’d like – and of course, I mailed them to her and forgot to snap a picture! Oh, well – you can imagine them with these pretty colors:

Apple of My Eye
Apple of My Eye is the “sweetest” stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! 2016 Occasions Catalog! I’m kind of a “foodie” so this one really appeals to me. And I love that we’ve been given a fun, coordinating designer paper in the Annual Catalog – Farmers Market. It also made me remember the “rock and roll” stamping technique that I haven’t used in a long time.
- To create the pears, I stamped first with Hello Honey stamp pad, then used an Old Olive stamp pad and just touched the edges of the stamp to that color.
- Try offsetting your circles for a more unpredictable look. The top-selling Framelits are the Circle Framelits – they’re a must have!
- There’s a trend in stamping that I haven’t fully embraced yet with the “nest” of fibers behind an image. I’m really trying but my neat and tidy Type A personality is struggling with this look! But I do think I like the Linen Thread behind the circles. What do you think? Are you having fun with this popular accent?
- I decided to try something a little different with the Black Satin Ribbon. I cut off a small piece and tucked the right end under the circles. Then I tied a separate small bow, dovetailing the ends with my Paper Snips and adhering it to the left end of the flat ribbon with a Glue Dot. I like the tailored yet kind of elegant look with this card.
And just announced this morning – this week’s Weekly Deals! Click on the images to learn more about each product.

Flower Patch by Christine
One of my From the Heart team members and friend, Christine Hunt, sent me this gorgeous thank you card, and I just had to share! Christine used a fresh color palette of Crisp Cantaloupe, Rose Red and Old Olive. And the secret to success is those little Dimensionals popping up the flowers – it makes such a difference!

Doodles of Thanks
Zentangle is the art of fine doodling, and it’s fun, relaxing – even meditative – and can be incorporated into your stamping. The Stampin’ Up! single stamp called Blended Bloom along with Stampin’ Up!’s Project Life Journaling Pens work perfectly for trying out this fun technique.
As I was researching my post, I came across this fabulous work of art by Pat Perry . Pat has taken zentangle to the ultimate level in this stunning drawing below.
Of course, we’re not all “Pats” – I certainly don’t come even close – but we can enjoy creating a little zentangle on our hand-stamped cards.
Stamp the image using a StazOn Black Stamp Pad. Use the fine tip of the Journaling Pen to start doodling inside each petal. Remember, this is supposed to be fun, so don’t stress about perfection! Once it’s finished, it’ll look beautiful!
The rest of the card was kept pretty plain so that the zentangle piece can really shine.
- I used Calypso Coral Cardstock for the card base, but really any color will work.
- I adhered a square piece of Vellum Cardstock to the base then wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around it.
- I did it again! I used the “thanks” from a current Stampin’ Up! stamp set, but I can’t for the life of me figure out which one! Leave me a comment if you can find the stamp set this sentiment comes from!
- Chalk Lines stamp set was used to create the pretty design at the bottom, stamped tone-on-tone using a Calypso Coral Stamp Pad.
- A small piece of Sweet Sadie Washi Tape decorates the end of the sentiment, and I’ve added a few Rhinestones colored with a black sharpie.
Here’s a close-up to show you some of the patterns I used. Have fun thinking up your own patterns, too!

Stamping with Baby Wipe Technique
I just love using the Baby Wipe Technique with Stampin’ Up! Ink Refills! And this technique works really well with Seasonally Scattered, a fun stamp set in the Holiday Catalog. Here’s how you’ll begin:
- Choose about 4 colors for your palette. I wanted this to be a Fall look, but I also wanted it to look just a little different than the usual colors, so I chose Crushed Curry, Rose Red, Garden Green and Eggplant Envy.
- Fold a baby wipe in half and lay it on a surface that won’t bleed through. I use my old-style stamp case. This way, I can shut the lid and my inks stay wet for quite some time.
- Squeeze about 10 drops of each color ink onto the baby wipe, being sure not to leave white spaces between the colors.
- Press your stamp into your homemade ink pad then stamp. Be sure to clean your stamp each time you use it so that your colors don’t get muddy.
- I used a thin border of Elegant Eggplant cardstock between the two layers of Very Vanilla. My accessories are the Hello Honey Ribbon (close enough to the Crushed Curry ink) with an Autumn Wooden Element.

Bundle and Save 15% on Fun Fall and Fall Fest
Fall Fest stamp set and coordinating Fun Fall Framelits have been my favorite new Stampin’ Up! products this Fall! I love all of the interchangeable components in the stamp set, making it great for Halloween and Fall all in one set. And when you purchase both at the same time, you’ll save 15% on the set!
Remember when we were “all over” the new In Colors when they were introduced in June? And then I sort of forgot about them for a bit. Well, now is the time to pull them out and use them like crazy! Look at this beautiful Fall pallette – Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey.
- I really wanted to highlight these beautiful colors that look so great together, so I used some color blocking as my backdrop.
- A Whisper White Cardstock oval was cut using the Oval Framelits and Big Shot. All of the images were stamped on Whisper White Cardstock then cut out using the Fun Fall Framelits.
- I tied a piece of Linen Thread around the larger pumpkin and slipped on an Autumn Wooden Element. You’ll find these sweet little accents being used over and over again on your Fall projects.
- Dimensionals are important with any card, but this one in particular to achieve the realistic overlay of the various pieces. The smaller pumpkin and leaf are brought to the foreground to give the scene some nice depth.
- “Grateful for You” is stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink on the Hello Honey Cardstock. You’ll find this sentiment in another terrific Stampin’ Up! Fall stamp set called For All Things. And you’ll find another card using different elements of the For All Things stamp set HERE.

For All Things
Fall card making and stamping has never been more fun than with the For All Things stamp set and coordinating Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! These are “my colors” – Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow team up with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. And the designer paper is so versatile – nice prints to work with on one side and beautiful neutrals on the other. Take a look at all of the prints:
- This card came about by wanting to show off this pretty paper, so I kept things simple. I stamped the watercolor image on Very Vanilla Cardstock using a Sahara Sand stamp pad, then used Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers to color direct to the rubber stamp to create the sentiment.
- I punched the sentiment out using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to the front using Dimensionals.
- The fiber decoration to the left comes from several different Stampin’ Up! accessories. First I cut the selvage of both sides of the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon to make it narrower and also to let the edges fray naturally. I used the new Stampin’ Up! adhesive Fast Fuse to adhere the burlap to the cardstock. Think Sticky Strip only in a dispenser! Next came the gorgeous Mossy Meadow 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon then some Venetian Crochet Trim. Finally I unwound some of the Natural Old Olive Two-Tone Trim and used just some of the vanilla trim through the center of the Gold Basic Metal Button. Button is attached to the card with Glue Dots.

Hey There and Beach House Washi Tape
I had so much fun making THIS CARD with the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape that I decided to try a different shape with a different package of washi – this time Hearts Framelits and Beach House Wash Tape.
- You’ll find the instructions to create this fun Washi Tape image in my previous post HERE. In fact, I used the exact same measurements for the star and heart images.
- Color scheme for Beach House Washi Tape is Real Red, Crushed Curry and Pool Party – yum!
- You’ll notice the pretty hear border at the top – it’s made with the brand new Hearts Border Punch with a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock behind.
- The “So Sweet” sentiment is from Hello There stamp set and is stamped in VersaMark Ink on Real Red Cardstock, then heat embossed using White Embossing Powder and Heat Tool. After I was finished with those steps, I used the Circle Framelits to cut it out.
- Hands down – my favorite ribbon in the new catalog is the 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon, here in Pool Party. The colors are gorgeous and it ties like a dream. If you’d like to receive a 2-yd. share of each of the 12 colors of Cotton Ribbon, why not sign up for a Ribbon Share – you needn’t purchase full spools of all the colors this way. Check out the details of my Ribbon Shares HERE.
To make this card I used two different Framelits sets with my Big Shot. Be sure to get your Big Shot this month and receive a FREE stamp and Framelit bundle; details can be found HERE.

A Tie-Dyed Thank You
I owe this card idea to fellow demonstrator Missy Shipman who had the idea of taking the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and doing some tie dying with it. This is so fun and can be done in any colors you choose. For my card, I picked Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry – all from the Brights Collection colors.
Start out by creating your own stamp pad. I used an old-style stamp set case, but you can use anything that won’t soak through the bottom like a styrofoam meat tray or plate. Lay a baby wipe on the bottom of the surface, then squeeze 5-6 drops of Ink Refills onto the baby wipe. As you are adding colors, try to fill in so that there aren’t any white spots in between the ink refill dots. It’ll look something like this:
Then just dip your stamp into the ink without moving it around. Stamp down on the “ink pad” you’ve created, then stamp onto your cardstock. Clean your stamp before placing it back into the “ink pad” or the colors will become muddy.
I added a thank you greeting from Another Thank You photopolymer stamp set and I’m done! Easy but very fun and effective!
My card is 4″x4″, so I used my Envelope Punch Board to create the perfect-sized envelope for my card. I wanted to create a matching inner flap, so I used a long post-it note at the fold line to keep the stamping just on the flap.
This would be a great card to make duplicates of. They go so quickly and are such a wow!

Timeless Talk and What’s Your Type
Oh how I love the pretty color combination in Stampin’ Up!’s Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Paper – Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Garden Green, with Gold. I have to admit, I wasn’t much of a Garden Green fan, but Stampin’ Up! has used it in two different designer papers this year (the other one is Flower Pot Designer Paper), and the colors that they’ve put it with make it just the perfect green.
- The stamped images come from Timeless Talk. I’ve stamped the bicycle in Garden Green Ink and the sentiment in Gold Ink. A little flower from Boho Blossoms Punch with a Garden Green Candy Dot are cute accents for the hub of the wheel.
- Two strips of Gold Soiree Specialty Paper accent the left side of the main image. To make the Calypso Coral scalloped edge, just punch three 1″ circles and adhere them at the half-way point along the back side of the designer paper.
- I love that we now have Baker’s Twine in both gold and silver – it’s a great accent to the Gold Soiree paper!
- I pulled out my What’s Your Type stamp set to create the border of circles stamped tone-on-tone down the left side. This brand new photopolymer stamp set is going to have so many uses! Check out another card I’ve made using What’s Your Type HERE.
While Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Paper is not included in the Buy 3 Get One Free Designer Series Paper Sale, you’ll still want to purchase this beautiful paper!
