Embellished Events and Something to Say

Embellished Events and Something to Say

Once again, I’ve turned to my Color Coach for help on today’s card, this time the new 2014-16 In Color Cards.  I want to continue showing you these gorgeous new colors, but I also want to show you that they’re going to coordinate beautifully with all of your existing colors.

  • I looked up Blackberry Bliss and my Color Coach showed me that it matched nicely with Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo.  Then I added just a bit of Hello Honey.
  • I paired an old and a new stamp set together for this birthday card – Embellished Events for the cake image and Something to Say, a brand new sentiment set, for the saying.  The cake is markered direct to the rubber stamp, and I’ve added some Dazzling Details to the flames and a row of Rhinestones to the bottom of the cake plate.  Another Rhinestone decorates the center of the flower created with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
  • Framelits come in so handy, this time to make a quick scallop edge to the Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the Large Scallop Edgelit.
  • You’re going to fall in love with using the new In Color Satin Ribbon!  The colors are beautiful, and it ties so nicely!  Why not join the Ribbon Share and receive 2 yds. each of all 5 of the new In Color ribbons, plus many more!  Check out my Ribbon Share HERE.

Here’s what one happy customer says about my Ribbon Shares:

“I got the package of ribbons from the shares in today’s mail.  This may have changed my mind about the new in colors! They are prettier in person than in the catalog or even on sample cards I have seen.  Thanks for all that it takes to make a share possible. I can’t imagine measuring, cutting, and wrapping that much ribbon!”

Something to Say and I Like You

Something to Say

I have a quick & Easy card for you today – something you can create in just a few minutes, but I think it packs a punch!  Unfortunately, there are many times these encouraging words could be a comfort to those around you – sympathy, illness, any of life’s challenges.

  • I’ve combined three stamp sets – Something to Say for the beautiful sentiment, I Like You (a hostess-exclusive stamp set) and Party Pennants, a stamp fro the July 2013 Paper Pumpkin kit for the Old Olive background behind the sentiment.
  • I know you’re waiting patiently (or not!) for the release of the Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities Markers!  Let me tell you, they’re worth the wait!  There’s never been an easier way to color in images!  I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight to color in my pretty flower image.  I created another card using the same stamp and color scheme HERE.  Word on the street is that they should be available later in June or possibly into July, so sit tight – they’re coming!

Something for Baby

Something for Baby

I had so much fun bringing you this sweet baby card!  I was in the mood for a little experimentation, so let me tell you a few things about my card today.

  • I wanted some designer paper to place in the back of my image and nothing was working.  I just wasn’t happy with what I had.  So I decided to make my own!  I started with punching out some Whisper White cardstock stars from the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I laid them onto an additional piece of Whisper White cardstock, and using a Stampin’ Spritzer with Daffodil Delight ink drops from the Ink Refill mixed with rubbing alcohol, I spritzed all over the cardstock.  When it dried I just shook off the star masks and voila!  Soon I won’t have to make my own masks.  Stampin’ Up! is introducing four different masks I’ll be able to use, but for now, this was a good way to make it work!  NOTE:  I did use Daffodil Delight ink refill because it tends to be a little lighter when you spritz.

I did the same thing to create an inside liner:

Something for Baby inside

  • The sweet little stack toy was created with Something for Baby stamp set and markers in So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar.
  • A Wooden Element was a great accent for my card.  I punched out a 1″ Pistachio Pudding cardstock circle and placed it on top, adding a So Saffron Button and some Baker’s Twine.  The new Fast Fuse was the perfect adhesive to attach my Wooden Element to the cardstock.
  • The sentiment comes from Something to Say stamp set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar ink.
  • I love the addition of a few rounded corners – it just seems to make the card.  I use my Envelope Punch Board for perfect corners every time.

Blended Blooms and Moonlight

Blended Bloom

This card features lots of brand new Stampin’ Up! products you’ll want to put on your wish list to order on June 2nd – new stamps, In Colors, ribbon, designer paper and cardstock!

  • Let’s start with this great new designer paper.  It’s called Moonlight, and it’s a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ paper stack for just $6.95 – so useful and economical for card makers!  Colors are Basic Gray, Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.
  • Are there some names in that list you don’t recognize?  They’re the new In Colors for 2014-16!  Check out my IN COLOR CLUB to get all of your supplies more affordably.
  • The featured stamp set is called Blended Bloom and is a single wood-mount stamp.  You’re going to be THRILLED to know that we now carry a black Memento Ink Pad.  It was initially added to our product line to use with our upcoming Blendabilities markers, but let me tell you, it’s going to be your most favorite black ink ever!  It’s similar to StazOn ink in that it gives nice, crisp lines to your stamped images, and it also doesn’t bleed when using the Aqua Painter with it, but it cleans off your stamp completely without leaving any staining to the rubber.  Don’t think I’ll be using another black ink again now that I have my Memento Ink Pad!  I’ve colored this image with my Aqua Painter and Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey stamp pads.
  • The “happy birthday” sentiment is from another great new stamp set called Something to Say.  Think lots and lots of great sentiments with a couple of cute images that line up with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (yet another new product!).
  • And last but not least is the new 2014-16 In Color Ribbon in Hello Honey.  I’m so glad we have a good substitute for our retiring Summer Starfruit!  This great yellow has a little less brown and is a little more vibrant.  It’s definitely a good addition to our Stampin’ Up! colors!  And the ribbon ties so nicely!  Join my In Color Club and receive 2 yds. of each of the 5 new colors of In Color Ribbon!
