Birthday Simple Stems

 flower HB

I decided to combine the old with the new for this card using Simple Stems stamp set along with Cycle Celebrations stamp for the sentiment.  This pretty designer paper called Birthday Basics has such terrific colors – Gumball Green, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Raspberry Ripple.

  • A little paper piercing around the circle adds some extra interest.
  • I used Finishing Touches Edgelits to cut the Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock at the bottom.
  • The new Petite Petals Punch is a must and looks cute with a Raspberry Ripple Dahlia in the center.

Simple Stems Just for You

 just for you

Simple Stems stamp set just might prove to be one of my favorites in the 2014 Occasions Catalog!  Here I've paired it with some older and newer products to give it a different look.

  • Quatrefancy Designer Paper gives me a bright, fun color scheme of Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush and Pool Party.
  • The new Petite Petals Punch is perfect for a little accent – don't forget the Daffodil Delight Candy Dot!
  • I pulled out an oldie but goodie stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes for the "just for you" sentiment.

Adding Dimensionals to your layers really makes a difference in your card making.  Be sure to pop up the Pool Party 2-3/8" Scallop piece as well as the main flower image.

Peaceful Petals Thinking of You

embossed petals

This is my favorite card I've made in a long time – do you agree?  I'm loving the color scheme, and it all started because I bought a new bottle of Smoky Slate Embossing Powder that I really wanted to use!

  • The Calypso Coral 2-1/2" Circle is stamped using a VersaMark Stamp Pad and Peaceful Petals stamp and heat embossed using the Smoky Slate Embossing Powder and Heat Tool.
  • After embossing, I used an Aqua Painter and Tangerine Tango Stamp Pad and painted in some of the flower petals.
  • My new favorite corner rounding tool is part of the Envelope Punch Board.  I corner rounded the Coastal Cabana cardstock then stamped tone-on-tone using the leave image from Peaceful Petals.
  • The Arrow Textured Embossing Folder is such a fun addition to our Big Shot tools.  I used it on the Summer Starfruit cardstock.
  • Three Smoky Slate Candy Dots add accents, along with a Very Vintage Designer Button tied up with Calypso Coral Baker's Twine.

Simple Stems So Grateful

raspberry flower

Today's the last day to purchase this week's Weekly Deals.  My favorite product on sale is the Tasteful Trims Die – I truly use it all the time.  It's perfect for cards and scrapbooking, since the die cuts 12" strips.  Now's the time to pick it up on sale for just $32.21!  Notice the scalloped white cardstock on the left is created with this fantaastic die.

I hope you enjoy seeing this card today.  I had some time over the weekend to just play, and it's so much fun to create with no time pressure or class in mind!  It's a unique color scheme for me – Pear Pizzazz, Elegant Eggplant, Bermuda Bay and Raspberry Ripple.  And it's a real crossover, since each color is in a different color collection.

  • Simple Stems stamp set is used for the flower and stem.  I stamped the flower 3 times, cut out three layers of the flower and assembled them one on top of the other with Dimensionals, then added a Bermuda Bay Candy Dot.
  • The sentiment is from So Very Grateful stamp set, stamped in Elegant Eggplant and mounted over the stem with Dimensionals.
  • I added a Bermuda Bay cardstock piece cut out with the Deco Label Framelits to the bottom.
  • A pretty piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon ties it all together!

And don't forget about all the other great products, on sale just today!
