Simply Celebrate and Final SAB Card

Simply Celebrate and SAB 2104

This will be my final post of ideas using Sale-A-Bration free gift items!  I'm kinda sad to see the end of using these products.  I've enjoyed them so much this year!  Today's the LAST day for free products in this brochure!

  • There are several Sale-A-bration items in this one card – Sweet Sorbet Desginer Paper, Sweet Sorbet Accesories pack, Banner Punch and Petal Parade stamp set!
  • The pretty color combo comes straight from the designer paper – Basic Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, istachio Pudding, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Whisper White.
  • A wonderfully useful stamp set in the 2014 Occasions Catalog is Simply Celebrate – I've used the "enjoy" from that set to make this card.

Afternoon Picnic and So Very Grateful

afternoon picnic thank you

We had a fun sketch challenge the other day over on our team Facebook page.  One of our demonstrators gave us a challenge to follow a sketch she'd drawn, and here's what I came up with.  I pulled out my Afternoon Picnic that had gotten dusty over the winter and started looking at the pretty color scheme – Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder.  While I didn't ultimately use much of the DSP (Just the Wisteria Wonder grid for the back layer), it did get me started on a great color palette for this floral card using So Very Grateful stamp set.

Interested in joining my team and linking to our private Facebook page?  There's no better time than during Sale-A-Bration!  From now until March 31st, receive $25 more in your starter kit for the same low price of $99.  Then receive 30% off on your first qualifying order, and 20% off all of your orders after that!  Read more about my team here!  Ready to join?  Click here to begin.

  • The Coastal Cabana DSP that came in Afternoon Picnic was too light and busy, so I grabbed a piece from the 2013-15 Designer Series Paper Stack.  It had a white background, and my card was more vanilla, so I used a sponge and Crumb Cake ink and went over the paper lightly to "dirty" it up.
  • The Finishing Touches Edgelit worked well with the look of the Doily and tied in my lacy theme.  Pearls accent both the flowers and the strip to the side to complete this look – definitely feminine and a little vintage.
  • The flowers from So Very Grateful were stamped in StazOn Black Ink then watercolored in with Aqua Painters and stamp pads.  I used Watercolor Paper for this main image to get the best results.

To achieve some nice shading on your flowers, start out by using a little bit more water on your Aqua Painter and go over the entire image lightly.  Let it dry then come back in with more color and go over certain spots you want darker.  I did this with the Crushed Curry flowers, making the centers a bit darker.

Buttercup Geometrical

buttercup final 3

Do you remember when Stampin' Up! carried 3"x6" envelopes?  I really loved that size of card for so many layouts.  Now that we have the Envelope Punch Board, we can have any size envelope we want!  So I'm back to designing a 3"x6" card and lovin' every minute of it!

  • Color scheme is Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Wisteria Wonder and Pistachio Pudding.
  • You're going to love using the Geometrical stamp set with coordinating Triangle Punch!  Bundle and save 15%!
  • I've stamped the various triangle images in the Geometrical stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock for the background strip, then stamped a few on a scrap piece and punched them out with the new Triangle Punch Dimensionals raise up 3 of the triangles.  This was my final touch to the card, and it really made a huge difference!
  • I arranged the three Candy Dots in the bottom corner iin the shape of a triangle in keeping with the theme.

Stamping on the envelope ties in nicely with the card!

When you make your 3"x6" envelope, you'll have a large flap at the back.  Simply cut it off so it doesn't hang below the bottom of the envelope when sealed.  I like using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to assemble the envelope.

So Very Grateful for Sale-A-Bration!

Flower thank you

Okay.  I admit it.  I LOVE to color.  In fact, I actually received a brand new beautiful box of crayons for a Christmas gift when I was 20 years old!  And so my addiction hasn't strayed too far, since I can now do "grow-up" coloring with my Stampin' Up! products.  You can imagine that So Very Grateful was one of the very first stamp sets I purchased from the Occasions Catalog this year.  I definitely saw the "coloring" possibilities!  Here I used my stamp pads in Crisp Cantalope, Pistachio Pudding and Pool Party along with an Aqua Painter to color in the pretty flower image and punched the image out with a 2-1/2" Circle Punch.

And Sale-a-Bration is in full swing with a beautiful brochure of free items you can choose with each purchase of $50 from now until March 31st.  I'm highlighting two coordinating products you can receive free – the Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper and the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack.  In the accessory pack, you'll receive three spools of special twine in Crisp Cantalope, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit, plus fun printed adhesive-backed cork pieces.

Vivid Vases

vases

You're going to love Vivid Vases, a brand new single stamp featured in our 2014 Occasions Catalog!  And there are several other brand new products featured in this card, too!

  • I'm loving the soft colors of Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper; I used the Island Indigo zig-zag paper here.
  • Make way for one of your soon-to-be favorite embossing folders – the Scallops Folder!
  • I used two pretty fibers on this card – the Island Indigo Baker's Twine and the Calypso Coral 3/4" Chevron Ribbon, which is held in place with  a Hardware Clip.  Don't like the image on the clip?  (This one was the "&" symbol.)  Then just put that to the back.  You still get the cute metal clip on the front and a place to tie your ribbon.
  • I added a strip of Garden Green cardstock run through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die to coordinate with the Garden Green leaves and stems in the flowers.

These sweet little flower vases are the perfect stamp to try your hand at watercoloring.  Remember to stamp in Black StazOn Ink, then use your Aqua Painter and stamp pads to do the rest.  I used Pool Party ink for the "watery" look in the vases.  To get the shading, just go over the entire vase lightly with Pool Party, let dry, then apply more ink in the shaded areas.  I like using Naturals White Cardstock because it absorbs the water much better than our Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstocks.  Of course, you can also use Watercolor Paper for optimal results.
