Using Stampin’ Up! Note Cards

floral wings vase

Creating hand-made greeting cards can be as simple or as complicated as you’d like!  Sometimes we just don’t have time for all the frills, and sometimes a simple card is the best anyway!  Here are two samples of quick and easy cards using two different Stampin’ Up! stamp sets along with Stampin’ Up! Note Cards.

  • Note Cards measure 5″ x 3-1/2″ – just a bit smaller than a standard card – and come pre-scored and include an envelope.  They make card making a bit quicker because everything’s ready to go – just open up the package!
  • My first card uses Floral Wings stamp set.  I created another card using this gorgeous set and different stamp components you can view HERE.  Instead, this one uses the pretty vase.  I just couldn’t do a completely flat one-layer card, so I popped the vase up on Dimensionals.
  • I stamped the “Just For You” sentiment in Memento Black Ink and added the lines with a ruler and a Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • Lining the envelope with the Envelope Liner Framelits gives such a clean finished look and even carries the polka dot theme through.  And the Envelope Liner Framelits come with three framelits to line a standard 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ envelope, a Note Card envelope and a 3″x3″ envelope.
  • My color scheme is Calypso Coral, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist, three colors from the Subtles grouping of colors.  The Subtles Collection Designer Paper Slab is perfect for envelope lining.

And here’s my second card using the same design:

pictogram punch

  • This one uses the sweet vase in the Pictogram Punch stamp set.  As its name implies, this versatile stamp set coordinates with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack punches to make snipping out several of the images as easy as can be!  And, to top it off, purchase both the stamp set and coordinating punches and save 15%!  The heart image and the flowers are all punched out and raised up on Dimensionals.
  • My color scheme for this card comes from the Subtles Collection of Stampin’ Up! colors – Rose Red, Garden Green and Night of Navy.  A little Garden Green Candy Dot from the Subtles Candy Dots accents the vase.
  • For this card, I used my Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker to create the lines.
  • I tried my hand at creating my own coordinating designer paper to line my envelope using the flower stamp and Whisper White Cardstock then cut it out with the Envelope Framelits Die and Big Shot.  I really like how it turned out!

Which is your favorite?  I’d love to hear from you.  Post a comment in the comments section on my blog and let me know which one you like the best.

Christmas Note Card

Christmas Note Card

Can you stand just ONE more Stampin' Up! Note Card idea?  I know I've shown you a lot, but I waited for this one until it got closer to thinking about Christmas card making.  I love this because it's the reverse of what you usually think of using the framelits dies.  Rather than cutting out a snowflake and putting it on top of my card, I cut the snowflake design out of the front of the card using the Festive Flurry Framelits Die then added Winter Frost Specialty Designer Paper behind the cut out.  I raised the card front up on dimensionals so there was more depth to the snowflake.

More Note Card samples can be found HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE – whew!  No, I'm not obsessed with these great little cards!

  • Our beautiful Silver 1/8" Ribbon is just right for this time of year!
  • Delightful Dozen stamp set comes in handy all times of the year.  It's a great set to have for all the important holidays.
  • Final touch is a jumbo Rhinestone on the snowflake for some bling.

Thank You Note Card

Kindness thank you

It's me again with another card using Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards!  I'd say I promise not to show you any more, but I might be lying!  Love these little 5" x 3-1/2" cards on pg. 162 of the Annual Catalog.  At only $5.95 for 20 cards and envelopes (in either Crumb Cake or Whisper White), they're a real value.  If you missed my previous postings on things to do with note cards, you can find them HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

I used the stamp set Blooming with Kindness for both the image and sentiment.  To create the 3-tone flower I followed these easy steps:

  • Ink up entire flower stamp using a Pink Pirouette stamp pad.  If you'd like a different color flower, just remember to use the lightest color first.
  • Next I used a Blender Pen to REMOVE the ink from the stem and then a Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Marker to color direct to rubber.
  • To add the darker color – in this case Primrose Petals – use a Sponge Dauber and just dab on color over the Pink Pirouette on the stamp.
  • Be sure to remoisten the ink by "huffing" on it, then stamp down.  Remember that ink is a liquid, so give it time to absorb into the cardstock.  That's true anytime you stamp.  Sometimes stamping too quickly leaves a lighter image than you wanted or omits areas of the stamp.

THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 131961 Blooming with Kindness wood $22.95 OR
Item No. 126422 Blooming with Kindness clear $16.95
Item No. 131527 Note Cards & Envelopes (20) $5.95
Item No. 102892 Sponge Daubers (12) $10.95
Item No. 102845 Blender Pens (3) $9.95

Elegant and quick note cards

Grateful

Today is a "two for one" special on seeing some more things to do with Stampin' Up! Note Cards.  I wanted to show both of these to you today because both use embossing folders along with our Core'dinations Cardstock

  • To create the distressed look, just run the Summer Starfruit Core'dinations Cardstock through the Big Shot using the new embossing folder from the Holiday Catalog called Pretty Print.  Then lightly sand with the Stampin' Sanding Block.  The sanding block will take some of the color off the cardstock and leave a beautiful two-toned effect.
  • Stamps are from Chalk Talk stamp set, stamped in Gumball Green and Midnight Muse.  There's a coordinating Chalk Talk Framelit to cut out the base of the main image, and I've used an XL Oval Punch for the sentimentl.
  • BUNDLE AND SAVE!  Buy the Chalk Talk stamp set and coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits and save 15%!
  • Add a couple of Silver Mini Brads in the corners of the tag for an extra little somethin'.

Million Thanks

Here, I've turned the Note Card on its side to create a simply elegant thank you note.

  • This card uses the new-ish embossing folder (new in the Annual Catalog in July) called Beautifully Baroque.  Again, to get that distressed two-toned look, simply run the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations cardstock through the Big Shot with the embossing folder, then lightly sand with the Sanding Block.

New Envelope Liner Framelits Dies

Note card thank you

Today I'm showing you yet another idea for the Stampin' Up! note cards.  In case you missed them, I've posted other ideas HERE and HERE.  But I also want to introduce you to the new Envelope Liner Framelits Dies.  They're going to take your beautiful handmade cards to the next level by coordinating the designer paper on the card and lining the envelope, too.  Three different sizes in the set line Stampin' Up!'s square envelopes, note cards and medium envelopes.

Here's a great video on how to use these nifty new tools!

  • This simple card uses Quantrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper, but of course, any of the gorgeous Stampin' Up! designer papers will work.
  • I've cut a simple tag for the sentiment using a Chalk Talk Framelit then stamped the "thank you" from the hostess-exclusive stamp set called Express Yourself.  This handy stamp set lets you say just about anything!
  • Not only can I coordinate the paper on envelope and card, but I can also coordinate paper and stamp set AND punch!  I've used Mosaic Madness stamp set and coordinating Mosaic Punch to add the little mosaic piece to the thank you tag.  BUNDLE & SAVEbuy the Mosaic Madness stamp set and punch together and save 15%!

Note card thank you 2

As long as we're all about coordination today, I even stamped down the left side of the envelope.  In minutes you have a pretty impressive card!
