Make a Wish with Soho Subway
I’m featuring two more retiring products, Make a Wish stamp set and Soho Subway designer series paper. Grab them before they’re gone!
- I’ve loved working with the Soho Subway designer paper; the color scheme is fresh and modern – Crisp Cantaloupe, Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit and Very Vanilla.
- While the lighter blue isn’t listed as a Stampin’ Up! color, I found that my Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon worked nicely to tie the colors in.
- I used my Oval Framelits to cut out the perfectly aligned ovals, and I inked up my stamps with Stampin’ Write Markers.
- Three Island Indigo Candy Dots give a little accent to the main image focal point. Love those Candy Dots!
I think this card could be either for a man or woman – what do you think?

Let’s Celebrate
I had so much fun creating this card and coordinating envelope for you! Birthday cards are probably one of the most needed types of cards, so the new Make a Wish stamp set in the Spring Catalog should be on your stampin' shelf!
- This card measures 5"x5". I created the matching envelope by tearing apart a 5-1/4"x5-1/4" envelope and using it as a template. It just fit on a 12"x12" piece of designer paper.
- All designer paper is from Patio Party collection. Love the color scheme – Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Summer Sun. Be sure to stock up on Baja Breeze products – we've gotten word that this color will be discontinued and is only available while supplies last – sniff, sniff! It's going to be my most missed retiring color!
- I chose Primrose Petals Satin Ribbon and a Midnight Muse Dahlia for accessories – love these In Color products!
- The Scallop Trim Border Punch dresses up the border of designer paper.
- You'll definitely want to add the Ovals Framelits to your collection – there's not a more basic cutting tool! You can't see it very well in the photo, but I've paper pierced along the Midnight Muse background Oval with the Paper Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat and Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.
- Cake image and sentiment are both from Make a Wish stamp set. I used the In Color 2012-14 Stampin' Write Markers to color in the different parts of the cake.
- One last touch – there's a drop of Dazzling Details glitter adhesive on all of the candles!
