Happy Easter Bunny card

Happy Easter Bunny card

Today I’m showing you an Easter card using Happy Easter Bunny single stamp from Stampin’ Up! that will coordinate with the gift box I posted a couple of days ago HERE.  I’ve used basically the same materials as with the box –

  • I took my color scheme from the Confetti Celebration Designer Paper using two of the many pretty prints in this package to create the belly band.
  • The Crushed Curry Ribbon comes from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack that is one of this year’s Sale-A-Bration free gifts.  You only have two weeks left of Sale-A-Bration, and all non-stamp choices are only while supplies last.  If you’re planning to order again to receive Sale-A-Bration items, please do it very soon – I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed when your choice is gone!
  • The Happy Easter Bunny stamp set was the perfect stamped piece for the front of my card.  You really don’t need much else with this nice big image.  I was able to cut it as well as the border using the Oval Framelits Collection and Big Shot.
  • I colored the tiny pieces with my Stampin’ Write Markers in Melon Mambo, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay.  This is the perfect time to invest in the Many Marvelous Markers set of all 38 colors in our color collections.  At $109.95, you’re saving substantially by purchasing the markers all together, and this is the only way to get the handy carrying case, too.  And with Sale-A-Bration still going strong, you can choose TWO free Sale-A-Bration gifts for your marker purchase!
  • I wanted a really light look for the bunny, so I switched my coloring technique to using both the Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate stamp pads along with my Aqua Painters.  This way, I could control the depth of color more and could be sure to get just a touch of color.

Oh, good grief – I did it again!  Did you find the piece I forgot to color?!  I really need to be more careful next time!

Here are the box and coordinating card together.  I love that with our beautiful Stampin’ Up! products, we can create this matching look with our gifts and cards.  It gives that added “wow factor”!  (I did go back in and hit the missing piece on the card before I snapped this photo, but that poor bunny on the box is still missing his arm!)

Happy Easter Bunny Treat Box

Happy Easter Bunny box 2_edited-1

Stampin’ Up!’s Gift Box Punch Board was instrumental in creating my Easter project today.  And it’s so easy to use!  I began with a sheet of So Saffron 12″ x 12″ cardstock and just followed along on the instructions on the handy label to create a box that is 4″ x 4″ x 4″.

Here’s how I decorated:

  • I took my color scheme from the Confetti Celebration Designer Paper using two of the many pretty prints in this package to create the belly band.
  • The bow was a snap with another fabulous Stampin’ Up! tool – the Gift Bow Die used with the Big Shot.  Just cut a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock at 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and use it with the die.  Curling the pieces with your Bone Folder will make them easier to shape.
  • The Happy Easter Bunny stamp set was the perfect stamped piece for the front of my box.

  • I just LOVE how this box unfolds!  And to put it together there’s absolutely no adhesive used!  Just slide the opposite sides together using the slits.  I made a “nest” using Bermuda Bay cardstock cut super thin, then wadded it up in a ball.  I think larger Cadbury Eggs would be the perfect thing for this box, but I only had small “eggs” of pastel peanut M&M’s on hand.

This box is a fairly substantial size, so you could put a lot of different things in it, even a small stuffed animal.  It’s the perfect trappings for a special Easter gift!

Oh, my gosh – I just noticed a coloring goof!  Did you catch it?  I’m done with all my photo taking and editing and it’s just too late to go back and redo.  So what to do but make a game of it!  Let me know in a comment below if you can find what I did wrong.  First one to answer and I’ll send you a little something in the mail!

UPDATE:  Here’s a video that Stampin’ Up! has prepared showing how easy it is to use the Gift Box Punch Board.
