I Want My Mummy!
Here's a card we made at our last team get together; it was designed by Christine Luce. I love that Christine used the large Scallop Square Bigz Clear die to create the base for this card. Cut just one layer of Basic Gray card stock with the die then cut a 3-7/8" x 7-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to act as the card opening. The top of the card gets a piece of Basic Gray card stock cut at just a smidge shy of 4" square.
Decorate the front of the card using the following items:
- Emboss the top Basic Gray card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder then die cut a Labels Collection Framelits in the center.
- Googly Ghouls stamp set stamps the cute mummy.
- His green heart comes from the Owl Builder Punch.
- Sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
- Don't forget a Googlie for his eye.
- Designer paper comes from Polka Dot Parade DSP pack.
Here's how it looks when you open it – so cute!

Spooky Witch’s Hat
When the directions came out at Splitcoast for this cute project, I knew I just had to dig in and make it. After going to several different stores, I finally found the styrofoam cone I needed for the top of the hat. All tolled, it only took me about 4 hrs. to make – good grief! But it was such a fun project, it was worth it.
- I traced a 9" plate to make the bottom of the hat. Both the bottom and top papers come from Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Paper.
- I wrapped the designer paper around the styrofoam cone and adhered it to itself with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. In fact, all the adhering was done with this terrific glue and it held beautifully.
- I punched various circles from Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade card stocks to add to the top of the hat.
- The Lucky Limeade card stock ruffle was created using 3 strips of 2" x 10" card stock and scoring every 1/2" with the Simply Scored Tool. I used Sticky Strip all along the edge then poured on Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
Here's a close-up of the front of the hat.
- The witch is stamped in VersaMark Black Ink from the Googly Ghouls stamp set then I added a couple of touches with markers. Oh my gosh – I just realized I didn't put her googly eyes on! And she's no longer at my home to take another picture! Well, you can just imagine how cute she would be with our new Googlies!
- I popped the witch into a Flourish Designer Frame to look a bit like the buckle on the hat.
- Stampin' Up! has a beautiful choice of ribbons, and I was able to pick up each color in the hat – Lucky LImeade Ruffled Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon.
And here's a picture with the hat tipped a bit so you can see how I finished off the top. I just worked the designer paper into a little sideways bend for an authentic witch's hat look. It made it so much easier than trying to finish off the top perfectly.

Cute little Halloween owl
I just LOVE this darling little owl; he's part of a terrific hostess-exclusive stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog called Warmest of Wishes. Four of the 5 images in this great set line up with Stampin' Up! punches to make them so quick and easy to use! Color scheme is Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Basic Black. This card measures 3"x6" and is 1/4 of a 12"x12" piece of card stock. The owl is stamped once in Calypso Coral and punched out with the Owl Builder Punch and again in Basic Black and Lucky Limeade with those parts cut out with Paper Snips. The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen stamp set, and I used Stampin' Write Markers direct to rubber. I used some gorgeous Ruffled Ribbon fastened with a Designer Printed Brad, both in Calypso Coral, for some pop, and the Tasteful Trim Die and Big Shot quickly cut out the scallops. Wisteria Wonder Designer Paper is from Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper pack.

Cute Little Witch
Here's another card using Greeting Card Kids for Halloween; my first one is HERE. You can see that this cute little witch looks great either colored in or not! On this particular card, I used Watercolor Paper along with Stampin' Write Markers and an Aqua Painter — simply add just a bit of color from the markers and blend. This is my favorite technique for getting a nice shaded image. Just don't forget to use a Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad to stamp your image – any other ink will run when moistened with the Aqua Painter. The sentiment is from Grateful Greetings and I used those same markers direct to the stamp to get a multi-colored greeting. The bats in the corner are from Wicked Cool. There are so many fun new accessories in the Holiday Mini Catalog! I love the new Raven 1/2" Lace Trim that I tied around a piece of designer paper from the Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. The circle motif has Waffle Paper around the edges of the punched out circles and a Black Glimmer Brad in the center. My color scheme is Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze and Basic Black.

Scary Scull
If you like really scary images for Halloween, the From the Crypt stamp set is for you! I stepped up the spookiness by adding green Rhinestone Brads to the eyes. I combined papers from two different packs – the Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black stripe is from Wicked Fun and the Old Olive and Basic Black "words" is from Nite Owl (by the way, it's Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem to add even more scariness!) "Spooky" is stamped from Wicked Cool stamp set on Old Olive card stock then punched with the Oval Punch and set off with a Rhinestone from Jewels Basic Rhinestones. The background uses the Big Shot and Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Item No. 115460 From the Crypt $22.95

Outlined Witch
This featured stamp set, Greeting Card Kids, is one of my favorites in this Idea Book & Catalog. There is a darling image for back to school, Halloween, Christmas and a little girl for any occasion. And I must say, it does bring back some nostalgic memories. This artwork is labeled "vintage" now, but I remember the originals! I began with Tangerine Tango card stock and an addition piece run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Next came two different prints from Nite Owl Designer Series Paper pack. This darling Halloween image looks great either colored in or not. (Stay tuned for a card showing her using a special coloring technique!) Here it's stamped on a circle I created with the Circle Scissors Plus. Don't forget your Dimensionals and a black Mini Library Clip for some added interest! The sentiment is from Wicked Cool stamp set, another great choice for Halloween. I'll be posting more cards using this terrific stamp set. Create multi-colored sentiments by just inking up various parts of the stamp with different color Stampin' Write markers and punch out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. To show off the Basic Gray button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons pack, I ran some Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through the center and mounted it on an image I cut from one of the pieces of the designer paper, also from the Nite Owl pack.

Halloween Treat Jar
Here’s a quick little treat jar for a Halloween celebration. I began by using this darling pumpkin stamp from Batty For You stamp set and inked it up with Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Basic Black markers, then stamped on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch. I punched another piece using Basic Black card stock and the Scallop Circle Punch, then paper pierced the scallops. Next is a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock cut to fit the lid of the jar with the Circle Scissors Plus. This handy tool allowed me to cut precisely the size circle I needed. I tied a piece of Pumpkin Pie 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around the neck of the jar and added a tag cut from the Big Shot die cut machine using the Stampin’ Up! Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die. I outlined the tag using a Pumpkin Pie marker and stamped "Yum-Yum" from the Tasty Sweet stamp set. A finishing touch was to stamp the small pumpkin image from Holiday Blitz in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock, cut the image out and popped it up using a Dimensional. I punched a hole with my 1/16" Circle Punch and to tied it onto the ribbon with a piece of white cotton crochet thread. And, of course, I had to add some gourmet jelly beans in orange and black! Nothing like color coordinating your candy to your design!
Here’s a close-up picture of the design of the lid:
- Item No. 116576 Batty For You stamp set $23.95
- Item No. 114982 Holiday Blitz stamp set $38.95
- Item No. 111698 Tasty Sweet stamp set $19.95
- Item No. 114508 Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die $21.95
- Item No. 115616 Pumpkin Pie 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon-10 yds. $8.95

Sweet Centers Halloween Card
I can’t get enough of this fabulous new stamp set! Sweet Centers with the Sweet Treat Cups is the cutest idea yet! Here I’ve created a Halloween card using the color scheme that Stampin’ Up! features in their Halloween collection on pages 22 and 23 of the Idea Book & Catalog. Whenever I want a fresh, new color palette, I turn to Stampin’ Up!’s fantastic color choices and the Catalog helps me so much!
The card base is Basic Black, with the 8-1/2"x11" paper cut lengthwise to 4-1/4"x11". This allows me to wrap that gorgeous Crushed Curry 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon around the end of the card. I used the pretty flourish stamp from Friends 24/7 to stamp on the Old Olive card stock in two of the corners, then tore the opposite edge. Next comes a piece of Crushed Curry card stock. I stamped my Halloween image in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock, punched out the center with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch, then filled my Sweet Treat Cup with gourmet lemon jelly beans–the perfect color!
I didn’t want to waste that cute little saying that I punched out of the main image, so I adhered it to the inside of the card, then drew a line with my White Gel Pen to "hang" the spider from the card.
- Item No. 116521 Sweet Centers stamp set $29.95
- Item No. 113218 Friends 24/7 $25.95
- Item No. 116602 Sweet Treat Cups (12) $2.95
- Item No. 116911 Sweet Treat Padded Envelopes (3) $2.95
- Item No. 115614 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon–Crushed Curry (15 yds.) $9.95
- Item No. 112004 1-3/4" Circle Punch $15.95
