Welcome, Sheila!

Here's my second card with this layout (first one HERE) to welcome my new team member, Sheila Edwards, from Elmira, NY.  Sheila's been stamping for over 10 years, and has decided to become a demonstrator — we're so fortunate to have her join us!  I know she'll be a wonderful addition to our group.  While putting together her starter kit, Sheila commented that she just loved the new Core Color, Cherry Cobbler,  so I started with that base for her special card.  In fact, this card contains all brand new products in the 2010-11 Idea Book & Catalog just released on July 1st.  The beautiful designer paper is from Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper and features the new Core Color Marina Mist which is categorized as a subtle but which works wonderfully with the regal Cherry Cobbler and bright Daffodil Delight, another new Core Color.  I lined the envelope with a piece to coordinate with the card.  The flower image that's stamped three times and bordered is from Friends Never Fade and actually is designed to coordinate with the Greenhouse Gala paper.  The Border Scallop Trim Punch that was offered during Sale-A-Bration (Jan. through Mar.) is being brought back to reside permanently in the new Idea Book & Catalog!  This is absolutely my favorite punch — I use it all the time!  But I guess I don't have to tell you that; I'm sure you've seen it here a time or two!

Welcome, Gladys

And here's the card I made for Gladys Garcia, the newest member of the From The Heart Stampers Team!  I kind of liked how the "recruit-er and the recruit-ee" cards coordinate (see blog post HERE)!  Too corny?  Maybe!  The card starts off with Daffodil Delight, then a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock, then a piece of Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  The stamp is the Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart, which I love to send to each new person joining because it really embodies why we are so attracted to this business.  This is bordered by Pumpkin Pie card stock, punched on the bottom edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and mounted to the card front with Dimensionals.  The flower corner motif is created using the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine with the Simple Flower Embosslits Die and Little Leaves Sizzlits Die.  The center of the flower is Daffodil Delight card stock punched out with 3/4" Circle Punch.

A Fresh, Fun Look

I've been congratulating Ruth Petrovich a lot lately, and rightly so!  Ruth joined my Stampin' Up! team of demonstrators, the From the Heart Stampers, at the end of February and is going strong!  Ruth just recruited her second person, and I made this card for her.  It's fun, summery look with Daffodil Delight (new Brights Core Color), Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz (new In Color) and some designer paper from Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  I used the Eyelet Border Punch to create the sweet white edging and some Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon for a little accent.  The main image is from Charming stamp set stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink with pieces cut from the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine using Little Leaves Sizzlits Die and Birds &  Blooms Sizzlits 4-Pack Dies for the flower.  A small Clear Rhinestone Brad decorates the center.  Once completed, this card needed a little something in the bottom right corner.   I had planned to stamp a "congrats" greeting but it just didn't fit.  So I accordion folded the corner and added a piece of Whisper White card stock to the back to peek through.  Love this touch!

Artistic Birthday

It's so much fun to have brand new colors and stamp sets to work with!  Here's a card I made for a very special friend and customer, Phyl Lyons, to celebrate her birthday.  Hope your day was filled with fun, friends, family and fond memories, Phyl!

Everything on this card is brand-spankin' new!  I received my Stampin' Up! order at 3:00PM and by 4:30PM had made two cards with all my loot!  This one features Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight — all brand new Core Colors for 2010-11!  The designer paper is from a beautiful pack called Greenhouse Gala.  This is the perfectly designed package of paper — one side of the paper features a bold floral or stripe, the other side a soft muted tone-on-tone paper.  You'll have so many options with this great set of papers!  I stamped the Eiffel Tower image from Artistic Impressions stamp set — this versatile set is sure to be a favorite this year.  The sentiment is from Watercolor Trio stamp set, featured in the Summer Mini Catalog.  The paper gets some aging by crumpling it up then spritzing on Early Espresso using a Stampin' Write Marker along with the Color Spritzer Tool, as well as some Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.  And notice our pretty new ribbons?  We'll be carrying a new 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon which comes in 13 different colors!

I'm enjoying adding a little something to the envelope and the inside of my cards.  Simply carry over some aspects of the card front for that extra "wow"!  (I had written a personal message to Phyl before I remembered to take a picture, so I covered it up temporarily.)
