For the Birds and Fresh Prints
My card today includes an older stamp set paired with a new designer paper. I love combining things that Stampin' Up! hasn't shown together to create a different look.
- I started out using Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack for the paper and to pick up the color scheme – Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, and a hint of Daffodiil Delight.
- I love the For the Birds stamp set! It's a great one especially if you're just starting out because there are so many images and lots of different sentiments. There's even a stamp for Christmas – click here to see what I've done with it. Here's what's contained in this great set:
- The very best paper to stamp and watercolor using Stampin' Up!'s stamp pads and Aqua Painter is our Watercolor Paper. It's so easy to get a nice watercolored image this way! My second choice in paper for watercoloring is Stampin' Up! Naturals White (Item No. 102316) or Naturals Ivory (Item No. 101849). The Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock are designed to stamp images beautifully, but because of their tight surface, they don't take the water as well.
- Circles are punched using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, or you could also use the Circles Framelits.
- I added some Real Red Stitched Ribbon, a Real Red cardstock flower using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and added a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot to the center to pull in the yellow from the watercolored image.

Fresh Prints Birthday from Julie
What a beautiful birthday card I received from Julie Timm, one of my From the Heart Stampers team members and friend! Julie uses the fun, new color scheme from Fresh Prints Paper Stack for her card design – Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Baked Brown Sugar and Whisper White.
- Circles Collection Framelits are the perfect way to make all your circle sizes economically. At just $26.95 for 10 different size circles, you'll get lots of bang for your buck!
- Though it's been around for awhile now, the Polka Dot Embossing Folder is still my favorite!
- "happy birthday" comes from the handy coordination of Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and Bitty Banners Framelits. Julie heat embossed with white embossing powder on Real Red cardstock for a definite wow! Don't forget to use your Embossing Buddy to prevent extra embossing powder from sticking to your project where you don't want it. Just rub it across your cardstock before you begin.
- Julie picked the perfect little accents – some White Baker's Twine for a sweet bow, heart from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits and a small Pearl accent.
