Happy Thanksgiving!
I've been posting so many Christmas card ideas lately that I wanted to go back to the current holiday and wish my readers a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you'll be spending the day with people you care about and who have blessed your life.
Here's my card:
I started this card with a base of Soft Suede card stock, then layered on Ruby Red. I created the 4 blocks from the Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper packet and added Ruby Red Brads from the Earth Elements Brads to each of the four corners. The main image circles are cut with the Circle Scissors Plus, in Always Artichoke and Whisper White, and I stamped on the Whisper White circle using Falling Leaves stamp set and Soft Suede and More Mustard Classic Ink. I stamped an additional leaf in Ruby Red Classic Ink on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock, cut it out and popped it up on a Dimensional. I added a piece of 1/4" Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon and a Mini Library Clip. The sentiment is also from Falling Leaves stamp set.

Fall is here!
Well, maybe it’s more like winter! It snowed at my house last night! The colors are at their peak here in the Finger Lakes, and this card reminds me of all the beauty that surround me. I just got the Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die and was looking forward to using it, when I had the idea of having the pheasant from Autumn Days stamp set peek out the window. I used a piece of More Mustard card stock measuring 4-1/4"x11" and ran it through the Big Shot with the die, which cut and scored my card, as well as cut the window, all in one movement. Pretty slick, huh?! I used the Sanded Background stamp with More Mustard Classic Ink to create the textured look on the base of the card, then wrapped some Elegant Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon around the card and tied on an extra piece of the same ribbon in Always Artichoke. The leaf paper comes from Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper and is backed with a torn piece of Ruby Red card stock. On top is a Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware piece with a stamped leaf image from Autumn Days on Always Artichoke card stock. I used the Vintage Brads to hold the piece in place. To create the pheasant, I colored direct to the rubber stamp with markers in the colors that matched the designer paper–More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Ruby Red, and a bit of Soft Suede for the feet. I’m sure you want to see his whole body, so we’ll take a look inside:
Isn’t he gorgeous! I loved how he turned out using all the different colors! The sentiment is from Falling Leaves stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede.
