Birthday Candles – is it a wheel or a stamp?
I don't think I've ever liked the colors put into a Stampin' Up! designer paper more than I like this one, called Birthday Basics. It's a yummy mix of both of the In Color palettes with lots of color choices – Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit.
I did some surgery on my Birthday Candles Jumbo Wheel so that I could use it as a stamp rather than a wheel. Just find the seam in the rubber, slice it with an exacto knife and pull it off the wheel. Pull the two pieces apart so that you have just the red rubber separately. Then mount it to Clear-Mount Cling Foam and you're ready to stamp! This is a great way to get a multi-colored image easily by using Stampin' Write Markers direct to the rubber stamp.
I've also cut it so that I have 3 candles together that I can use for smaller images and the rest for full-sized cards or for more candles.
And with this gorgeous designer paper, don't forget to add some to make a coordinating envelope! The new Envelope Liners Framelits Dies fit all three sizes of envelopes – the "regular," medium-sized envelope, the note card envelope and the 3"x3" envelope.
And don't forget a little Dazzling Details on the candles for some sparkle!
