Stampin Up! has made it so easy to retrofit your existing Stampin' Up! products with the new color kits!  Markers, pastels, watercolor wonder crayons, card stock, ink and more are packaged in specially designed kits so you can change out the old colors for the new easily and affordably!  I've installed a link on my left-hand sidebar so that you can refer to the list of what's available.  I've also listed it below:

A Look at the Returning In Colors

It's so fun to reconnect with old friends!  Please welcome back some of our favorite In Colors from the past, now becoming Core Colors and staying with us for a good long while!  I'm continuing my grouping of 4" x 4" cards and showing you samples of the colors we've all been missing.  To see a past post on new Core Colors using the same cards, click HERE.  I used Elements of Style to stamp each card, along with sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Each color name is listed below the card.

Baja Breeze – will be joining our Subtles Collection and is lighter with a bit more green than Bashful Blue.

Riding Hood Red – Just a bit "quieter" than Real Red and not as dark as Cherry Cobbler, this red is sure to fit into lots of your projects!  This beautiful color will join our Regals Collection.

River Rock – Returning in the Neutrals Collection, this color is a chameleon!  Its color changes depending on what it's paired with.  It's probably considered a true khaki.

Wild Wasabi – A lighter version of Garden Green, this gorgeous color is returning as part of the Subtles Collection.

Tangerine Tango – This Brights Collection addition is a combination of Only Orange and Pumpkin Pie.

Pacific Point – One of the most gorgeous blues we've had, this is the updated Brilliant Blue for the Brights Collection.

RETIRING STAMPIN’ UP! COLORS ARE SELLING OUT!

That's right! We've surpassed Stampin' Up!'s expectations of how much we would want to stock up on retiring colors!

You may be asking yourself: didn't Stampin' Up! anticipate increased demand on retiring colors? The quick answer is yes, they did. The long answer is a bit more complicated. They base their forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information for previous color transitions, as well as current buying behaviors. Obviously, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone.

For re-inkers in retiring colors, as they run out, they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as they receive the product.

Card stock presents a bit larger problem, as the process of ordering and producing new paper from the paper mills is very involved, and they can't order significant quantities at this point in time without putting the production of the new colors in jeopardy. To help them be able to provide you with the card stock in the retiring colors for as long as possible, they will be substituting textured paper for some of the smooth colors–including card stock in 8 ½ x 11 as well as 12 x 12–where the smooth is no longer available. They realize that this is an extraordinary situation, and that this solution may not be ideal for everyone. However, we hope this will help you get the retiring colors you want for as long as possible.

SO – all of that being said, I would *highly* recommend getting your orders in NOW for retiring card stock colors to ensure that you get the colors that you want while you still can! Some colors may retire before June 1st, and on June 1st all retiring colors will only be available while supplies last – which in most cases will be a VERY short amount of time.

New Summer Mini Products

You're going to LOVE the new Summer Mini Catalog products!  As a demonstrator, I'm able to pre-order merchandise from this fantastic publication in order to get ready for my May workshops.  Here's a card I created using many new items.

I began with a base of River Rock card stock!  Yes, I said RIVER ROCK!  With the new color renovation (HERE), we are bringing back this terrific neutral color that was an In Color a couple of years ago.  You'll be able to purchase the card stock, ink, reinker and marker on July 1st.  I stamped the background with Sanded background stamp and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink.  Next came a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock, then Baja Breeze card stock run through the Big Shot using the Stampin' Up Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates.  Yes, BAJA BREEZE is making a comeback as well!  This was such a popular In Color and it's returning on July 1st also!

To add more interest, I used a new product called Smooch Spritz in the color "Log Cabin" to put some shimmer in the background.  It doesn't photograph as shimmer, but this is a pearlized accent spray that will add a dash of color to any project.  They come in a ready-to-use spray applicator and are great for cards, scrapbook pages, chipboard and more.

I'm highlighting a brand new stamp set called Sentimental Journey.  Purchase this great new stamp set in either wood mount or clear mount and stamp for all different occasions — this would be great for masculine cards and wonderful for scrapbooking your favorite trip.  The suitcase was stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.  I added some Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.  A Chocolate Chip Jumbo Brad with a So Saffron card stock circle behind ties well with the circles created around the suitcase image.

Stampin’ Up! Color Renovation is Coming!

The announcement from Stampin' Up! Home Office today is so exciting! 

It's time to renovate the color families!  This means that 30 current colors will retire, 5 brand new colors will be added, 3 current In Colors will not retire and 7 past In Colors will return!  Once renovations have been completed, we'll have 40 Colors, 4 Color Families of 10 each – Brights, Neutrals, Regals and Subtles. In addition to that, there's a new format for In Colors – now, we will have 5 new In Colors each year, with each set lasting for 2 years instead of just one. In July 2010, the first 5n ew In Colors will be released and run until June of 2012. In 2011, 5 additional new In Colors will be released and run until 2013. So every year there will be a change, but there will always be 10 In Colors after this first year.

Here is a look at the new color line up as a whole!
