C’est magnifique!
Here's a card we did at a recent workshop. I was working with a brand new hostess who said she loved "all things French" — what better set could I show than Artistic Etchings with the beautiful Eiffel Tower image. Marina Mist is the perfect color for this card; it reminds me of the classic "French Blue" look. The backdrop gets a wow factor with the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. After stamping the Eiffel Tower image on Very Vanilla card stock, I stamped the background stamp En Francais at the bottom, then sponged around the whole image using Crumb Cake ink and a Stampin' Sponge to give it a worn look. A piece of Marina Mist 5/8" Satin Ribbon is held neatly in place by a Very Vanilla 5/8" Jumbo Brad. I was delighted to find that I could stamp on this metal surface using StazOn Jet Black ink and the tiny flower image from Clearly For You stamp set. While this fabulous stamp set isn't available right now (it was from the Occasions Mini Catalog), it's my hope it will make it into the new Idea Book & Catalog in July. For the final touch, I stamped amour from Artistic Etchings on Marina Mist card stock, punched it out with the Modern Label Punch, attached a Basic Pearl and tucked it under the ribbon. Voila!

At the Stampin' Up! Leadership Convention in Nashville in January, we were treated to the most beautiful make and take projects ever! We made the brooch above using the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Fabric and Fun Flowers Die for the Big Shot. Did you know that you can cut up to 8 layers of fabric at a time using the Big Shot? It really makes for fast results! Tucked in between the fabric layers are pieces of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper punched with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, as well as a Paper Daisy painted with Platinum Shimmer Paint. Snips of Victoria Crochet Trim and Baja Breeze Seam Binding are also part of this brooch. But wait – there's more! The crowning glory is the pretty motif on the top center – a stamped butterfly image from Clearly For You stamp set adorned with a Beveled Window Pane, Vanilla Seam Binding, Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and a Trinket Key! This brooch is vintage all the way! It's all held together using a hot glue gun for each layer and for the pin on the back.
I came home and made my simpler version using the Sweet Stitches Designer Fabric, along with a Sweet Stitches Designer Big Button, Pompom Trim, Vintage Trinkets safety pin and 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie. It matches my new apron using the same fabric that I'll show you in another post!
