Chic Boutique is leaving!

Ooh-la-la do I ever love this stamp set!  Please don't let it retire without purchasing your copy!  It's such a fun set to use and there's such a terrific combination of stamps that all coordinate so nicely.  I even had this first card published in a magazine when I originally created it!

Chic Boutique Bird Cage

Here's my second card using Chic Boutique.  You can find the first one I posted HERE.  Wow, can I just say that I'm LOVIN' this gorgeous stamp set!  Here's what I made using the bird cage stamp to create a completely different look.

See what I mean?  This set is much more versatile than I had first imagined!  My card began with the color scheme Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Rose Red and Bermuda Bay.  The bird cage is stamped on Whisper White card stock with Basic Gray ink, then colored in with Stampin' Write Markers.  I also did a little spritzing with my Spritzer Tool and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker.   Don't forget that we have In Color Stampin' Write Markers this year, available only until June 30th!  I love that I can get a completely coordinated look with matching markers and card stock!  I tore the top right-hand corners and added some Rose Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  The sentiment is from Curvy Verses, one of my "go to" stamp sets for perfect greetings.  The flower is made with the Big Shot and Birds & Blooms Sizzlits 4-Pack Dies, and I added a Square Ice Rhinestone Brad in Turquoise for a touch of bling.  I also used a Bone Folder to curl the petals of the flowers up and adhered them with Dimensionals.  The touch I LOVE is the paper piercing!  I cut out an additional large flower and used it as a template, then paper pierced around it at the top of the card using my Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool!  What do you think?  Have I convinced you that you just have to have Chic Boutique?!

Paris Nights Merci

I guess it's the fact that our Paris Nights dinner after the Syracuse Regionals had to be canceled due to a severe snow storm (see THIS post), but I was drawn to using Chic Boutique stamp set.  I actually made two — I'll post the other one another day.  For now, here's my attempts at a Paris night scene.

This card measures 5"x5" square and begins with a base in Kraft card stock.  The main image is stamped on Brushed Silver card stock to look like metal, then cut out and popped up on a background of Textured Basic Black card stock using Dimensionals.  I added the tiny rhinestones from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit to replicate stars in the sky and backed that with a piece of Whisper White card stock.  That's layered on Melon Mambo card stock.  Some Black 5/8" Satin Ribbon is wrapped around that and tied with a snip of Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon.  Just cut along the selvage line of the ribbon to get the skinny little piece.  I used the Scallop Trim Punch and Whisper White card stock to give the lacy eddge.  Don't forget that you can still earn this fabulous punch FREE during Sale-A-Bration, but hurry!  This promotion is only until the end of March!  Click HERE for the details.  The sentiment is created by stamping "Merci" in Basic Black Ink on Whisper White card stock.  I added a little flower stamp from Tiny Tags stamp set stamped in Melon Mambo and another tiny rhinestone above the "i".  The metal frame is from Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, but instead of using the metal brads that come with it, I changed it up and used Black Brads from the Vintage Brads collection.  The final touch was to use a Black Stampin' Write Marker and my Spritzer Tool to spritz the background with some color.  Voila!  C'est magnifique, n'est-ce pas?
