Faux Bleaching technique
I had lots of fun playing with some new supplies and a new technique creating this card to congratulate my team members on a great month of sales and recruiting. There are three or four things I want to point out about this card:
- I began this card wanting to show you an idea for the terrific Butterfly Bundle sale going on through the end of September. This great sale combines the Bitty Butterfly Punch and the coordinating stamp set Papillion Potpourri for a 15% off savings. For details on these two great products, click HERE. I used the Bitty Butterfly Punch to punch out lots of butterflies out of scrap paper, then arranged them on my Soft Sky cardstock. I used a Spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol and Marina Mist reinker and spritzed over the butterflies. When I removed the masks, it looks like the bleaching technique but much easier!
- I also used the Papillion Potpourri stamp set to stamp the Crisp Cantaloupe butterfly twice – once directly on the Whisper White cardstock, the other on a scrap piece and punched it out with the same Bitty Butterfly Punch. I added a bit of glitter and popped it up with a Dimensional.
- And of course, I just had to make a custome envelope for my card using the brand new Envelope Punch Board. You won't believe how simple it is to use this innovative new tool! And I just love the coordination factor!

Color scheme is Soft Sky, Midnight Muse and Crisp Cantalopue. Notice the Midnight Muse border around the spritzed butterflies? I've used my new Rotary Trimmer Additions to create the pretty scallops – more details on this great new tool HERE.

You’re Amazing!
Sometimes we all need a little help with combining color. I felt like I was fresh out of ideas and so I turned to the new Raymour & Flannigan Furniture catalog for some inspiration:
I thought this was a fresh, fun palette and obviously pretty trendy since it's in a brand new magazine, right? So I translated their colors into Rich Razzleberry, Midnight Muse, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake. What do you think?
I love the new Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Stacks! And I'm never sure which side to use – they're both so pretty! So I made one card with the paper one way and the other card turned the designer paper over. Which do you like best?
Here's how you can duplicate my card:
- Start with a Crumb Cake card base, then add Midnight Muse cardstock run through the Big Shot using the Argyle Embossing Folder.
- I used markers to color direct to rubber the stamp from You're Amazing stamp set, then cut it out in a snap using the Big Shot and the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
- The triple layered flower is the Floral Fusion Sizzlits, again using the Big Shot! If you don't have one, don'tcha think it's about time! 🙂
- In the center of the flower is a Midnight Muse In Color Dahlia. These little gems are oh, so pretty!
