Tiny Treats for Sale-A-Bration

Time To Celebrate Boxes

What do you think of these Tiny Treat Boxes decorated with Sale-A-Bration ribbon and designer paper?  I made them for my team who attended this past weekend’s fun card-making event.  We got together to make 20 card samples all using Sale-A-Bration stamp sets!  In my opinion, these are the best stamp sets for a Sale-A-Bration event that Stampin’ Up! has ever created.  I just love them all!

These little treat boxes held 8 Hershey’s chocolate assorted mini candy bars perfectly and acted as a little favor for the festivity.  They’re big enough to actually hold something substantial, but they’re small enough so you don’t have to buy too much to fill them – they’re 2″ square.

I cut 1″ x 6″ strips of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Paper, adhered one end to the bottom back side of the cube with Fast Fuse Adhesive, then just wrapped around the 3 sides (no paper on the very bottom).  I tied the Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack around the entire box and tied it in a bow.

Did you catch the sentiment – “time to celebrate” for our Sale-A-Bration event!  It’s from the Time to Celebrate hostess-exclusive stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  I adhered it to the box with a Dimensional on either side, being careful not to catch the designer paper.  This way, you don’t have to ruin the wrappings to get at the chocolate.  Simply untie the bow and slide the designer paper out from under the tag.  Clever, huh?!

All that glitters IS gold

Fabulous Four and Star Framelit with washi tape

I just love all of the gold that Stampin’ Up! has added over this past year!  And like all Stampin’ Up! products, there’s also the beautiful coordination factor that’s a big wow!  I also created another card using our gold products – you can find it here.

I began this card with the idea of using Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape and the Stars Framelits and Big Shot to create a focal point image.  I used one of the Stars Framelits and traced around it on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  Then I filled in the space with the Washi Tape, set the Star Framelit back over the pen lines and ran it through the Big Shot to cut it out.  Here’s a look at what I’m describing:

Star with washi tape

Next I wanted to create a frame around the star using the Gold Foil Sheets.  I used two of the Stars Framelits – the same one with which I cut out the Washi Tape star and also the size below it.  I placed the smaller one inside the larger one, laid them on the Gold Foil Sheet and ran it through the Big Shot.  Here’s a photo of the set up:

And here’s the card closeup:

I added Gold Baker’s Twine and one of the sentiment from Fabulous Four stamp set stamped with an Encore Gold  stamp pad.  I really wanted the star to stick out off of the card, but that posed a problem for putting it in an envelope.  But no fear – with the Envelope Punch Board, you’re able to create any size envelope you choose!  So I made my envelope 6″ x 4-3/4″ and it slipped right in.

But why stop there?  If I’m creating a custom envelope, I might as well dress it up a bit, right?  So I made an additional envelope base then cut across the bottom and sides to create a liner.

Then I placed my rows of Washi Tape all along the part of the envelope that would fit down inside the outer envelope.  Once on, I trimmed down the Washi Tape and also trimmed the liner so it would slide down inside the envelope base.

I think this special card will be for my husband’s uncle who is turning 80 next weekend.  He and his wife are also celebrating 60 years of marriage!  Gold will be perfect!

You’re Amazing!

You're Amazing

Sometimes we all need a little help with combining color.  I felt like I was fresh out of ideas and so I turned to the new Raymour & Flannigan Furniture catalog for some inspiration:

Color Combo

I thought this was a fresh, fun palette and obviously pretty trendy since it's in a brand new magazine, right?  So I translated their colors into Rich Razzleberry, Midnight Muse, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake.  What do you think?

You're Amazing 2

I love the new Stampin' Up!  Designer Series Paper Stacks!  And I'm never sure which side to use – they're both so pretty!  So I made one card with the paper one way and the other card turned the designer paper over.  Which do you like best?

Here's how you can duplicate my card:

  • Start with a Crumb Cake card base, then add Midnight Muse cardstock run through the Big Shot using the Argyle Embossing Folder.
  • I used markers to color direct to rubber the stamp from You're Amazing stamp set, then cut it out in a snap using the Big Shot and the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
  • The triple layered flower is the Floral Fusion Sizzlits, again using the Big Shot!  If you don't have one, don'tcha think it's about time! 🙂
  • In the center of the flower is a Midnight Muse In Color Dahlia.  These little gems are oh, so pretty!
