Happy Birthday with Cottage Greetings and a Cherry on Top
Sprinkles of Life is the Ronald McDonald charity stamp set this year – Stampin’ Up! will donate $3 to this worthy organization for each of these stamp sets purchased. Buy this great set AND support this cause – a great combination!
I love the coordination of the Sprinkles of Life stamp set with the Cherry on Top designer paper. In fact, I had a hard time deciding which papers to use with my card – they all looked great! So here are a few other samples with different papers for the center strip.
- Another star of the show is the Cottage Greetings stamp set. This great set was designed to go with the Cottage Greetings Card Kit (which I’ll show you another day), but of course, you can always use the stamp set with other cards. I just love the whimsical font!
- You’ll want to grab the Tree Builder Punch that also coordinates with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. This will enable you to punch out many of the images in the stamp set. I’ve popped up the cupcake top with Dimensionals after punching it out, as well as the cherry on top of the cupcake.
- Stampin’ Up! is now carrying a banner punch so that you’ll never have to figure out how to cut your banner ends evenly again. It’s called the Banner Triple Punch and is designed to punch three different width of strips, but really any size strip will work. It’s a must for quick, neat banners.
- Another greatly used punch in my stash is the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch. It was designed to be just the right “swoop” for your Project Life cards and photos, but it works perfectly for your cards, too. Just rounding one corner and placing the background Whisper White Cardstock over to the far left rather than centered gives this card a fresh look.
- Place your cupcake on a Crushed Curry Cardstock circle using the Circle Framelits and Big Shot.
- Don’t forget to add a little sparkle to your cupcake. I used a 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the cupcake top. And for the shiny 3D finish on the cherry, just add a little dab of Crystal Effects. Be sure to let it dry – it takes a little time.

Way to Go and I Think You’re Great
I’m just smitten with the I Think You’re Great stamp set by Stampin’ Up!, new to the 2015-16 Annual Catalog. You’ll find lots and lots of uses for this set. I’ll show you one today, and then I have an additional posting coming up using another stamp in the set.
- My color scheme is from the Brights Collection with a pop of Basic Black and sparkle – Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Old Olive.
- “Way to Go” is stamped in Pacific Point Ink and is cut out with my Paper Snips then popped up on Dimensionals. I love how it’s sort of a reverse stamp – the background is colored in and the letters are left white.
- The star is cut out with the Big Shot and Silver Glimmer Paper. Love this touch! AND check out the Weekly Deals – you can grab yourself some Silver Glimmer Paper on sale this week!
- A Candy Dot Brad Base with a Pacific Point Candy Dot is a nice accent to the Basic Black Cardstock.
- And another stamp set that is going to be a “must have” for this catalog is the Tin of Cards stamp set. Of course, it coordinates with the Tin of Cards kit, but beyond that, you’re going to want these stamps for all of your cards. The two row of “+’s” are created with a stamp in this set. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to make sure they were lined up perfectly, even though I was working with a photopolymer stamp set. I’m just no good at “eyeballing”! And please remember to use Memento Black Ink with your photopolymer stamps!

Your Perfect Day
Time to start thinking about wedding cards – June is the biggest wedding month of the year! Stampin’ Up! has a couple of really nice wedding stamp sets in the 2015 Occasions Catalog. Today I’m featuring Your Perfect Day. And remember – you only have until June 2nd to order from the Occasions Catalog!
- As with many of my cards, I began with a great wedding designer paper called Something Borrowed. It contains various prints in Sahara Sand and Whisper White, perfect for adding your own wedding color scheme. And with more sheets of each design, this paper is great for creating multiple projects, like wedding save the date, invitations or thank you cards.
- The cake image is stamped with StazOn Ink, then a slight bit of coloring was done with the Aqua Painter and Sahara Sand Stamp Pad.
- A piece of Doily peeks out of the side for a little soft interest.
- I also used the Corner Rounder on the two right-hand corners. This little addition can change up the look of your card so much!
- The sweet hearts on the cake come from the Heart Border Punch. I added tiny Pearls to each.
- Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon is so soft and easy to tie. Here I added a second piece to have a double knotted ribbon look.

Bravo and Way to Go
There’s nothing like receiving some unexpected praise in the mail in the form of a hand-stamped card. We all love to hear that we’ve done a good job, so be sure to pick up the Bravo stamp set by Stampin’ Up! for all your cards of congrats. There are so many choices in this terrific set – 13 stamps in all!
- My color scheme today is Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Smoky Slate – colors that are sure to say “wow”!
- The Circle Framelits used with the Big Shot are one (actually two) of the best purchases you can make. There are ten different size circles in this set for just $26.95 – an even better value than our great circle punches! Plus, use them to build layers and frames, too.
- My accents and embellishments kept with the fun theme. I used Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine, Bermuda Bay Sequins and a Tangerine Tango Candy Dot. One of the sequins was pulled off the strip and attached separately to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
I made up quite a few of these this month for my From the Heart Stampers teammates who had exceptional sales and recruiting during Sale-A-Bration. Consider becoming a part of our team – I’d love for you to join us! I offer lots and lots of support, both locally and long distance. Click HERE to read more about my team!

And now on to the card I’ve made for you today:
My only daughter is expecting her second child, a girl, in early August. And a very dear friend is also expecting a baby in the early fall. So please excuse me while I have “baby on the brain”! But seriously, Stampin’ Up! has some of the most adorable baby stamps ever right now, and beautiful designer papers in both the Annual Catalog and Occasions Catalog. My card today is a combination from both catalogs.
I absolutely love a good card layout to start out my designing. And this card is no exception. It’s basically the same layout as my Easter card I posted HERE. It’s truly where all my design ideas come from. I love the Mojo Monday card sketches, as well as those on Splitcoast Stampers posted on Wednesdays. Here’s the sketch I used for my card:
Once you have a great layout, you just plug in the stamp set and coordinating accessories! And Stampin’ Up! makes that so easy by giving us so many well-planned, coordinating products.
- I began with the stamp set called Little Sunshine, a great set from the 2015 Occasions Catalog. I love that this set coordinates with the Word Bubbles Framelits and makes adding a sentiment a snap.
- I then went to the Annual Catalog to pull out Something for Baby stamp set and coordinating Baby’s First Framelits. Purchase both items and save 15% on the bundle. I was able to stamp the baby carriage in Crisp Cantaloupe ink then cut it out in a jiff with the Framelit and Big Shot. Did you see the cute little Mini Silver Brads in the wheels? And they’re so easy to set with the Paper-Piercing Tool and Stampin’ Pierce Mat.
- Both designer papers come from the Annual Catalog as well – Lullaby – and another great choice would be Sweet Dreams in the Occasions Catalog.
- The Hello Honey Quilted Ribbon is such a treat to work with! It is a little thick, so I just popped up the whole card front on Dimensionals so there was plenty of room for the ribbon to ride in the back. A double bow with the Whisper White Baker’s Twine cinches the ribbon up a bit.
- You’ll want to purchase the items for this card soon. The card is based on two of the five In Colors that are retiring soon – Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe. All products containing the 2013-15 In Colors will go on the retiring products list on April 21st, and after that, you’ll only be able to buy these products “while supplies last”. In the past, they’ve flown off the shelves.
And speaking of babies, here’s one of my “grandbabies” at Easter morning service. He’s informed us that he’s no longer to be called “cute”. But it’s okay if we call him handsome!
