Wonderful Wreath and Happy Birthday Everyone

Happy birthday everyone with wreath

This card came from an idea I had about the Wonderful Wreath Framelits by Stampin’ Up!  I wanted to use the pieces to this framelits set to create a summer wreath for a special birthday card.

  • The colors I chose are Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Night of Navy and Old Olive.  They’re the colors in the English Garden Designer Paper, minus a couple, but worked really well for the wreath.
  • I started by cutting out the wreath base using Old Olive Cardstock with the two wreath framelits – both the inside and the outside pieces.  This allows some of the green to peek through so that you don’t have to cut out extra leaves.  Here’s a photo of how the wreath begins:

Wonderful Wreath and Big Shot

  • Cutting out all of the flowers is a breeze with the Framelits.  I doubled the cardstock, cutting two at a time, and the framelits cut through both layers nicely.  “Scrunching” the cardstock flowers made them a bit more three dimensional.
  • The centers of the flowers are created with the 1/4″ Circle Handheld Punch; use a 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere them all.
  • A pretty Night of Navy 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon is the perfect accent to the wreath, held in place with a Glue Dot.

  • My sentiment comes from a host-exclusive stamp set called Happy Birthday, EveryoneHere’s another card using this great set.  Choose this stamp set as a free gift when you order a minimum of $150 in products in my Online Store (before tax/shipping).

  • And inside the card, I used the “happy birthday” sentiment from the same set stamped in Night of Navy Ink – such a pretty combination of fonts!

Mother’s Day and Mother’s Love

bestmotherever_edited-1

Mother’s Day is just around the corner – a few short days away – but we celebrated Mother’s Day last Saturday night by going out to dinner with our whole family to one of our favorite restaurants.  I made this card for my lovely daughter and daughter-in-law, and while each mom has her own “style”, both of them are the best moms to my beautiful grandchildren!

  • The 2014 Annual Catalog is nearing an end, and with it goes all of our gorgeous Stampin’ Up! designer series paper, like this one called Flowerpot.  I’ll see if I can use a bit up and show you more things to do with your scraps before the end of the catalog on June 2nd!
  • You know how I like circles – I think I use them on just about every card!  And this one is all about circles cut with the Circles Framelits and the Big Shot.  Stampin’ Up! does all the work for us by giving us beautifully coordinated pieces.  All you need to do is cut a bunch of different sizes and arrange them artfully on your cardstock.  The top left circle is simply Not Quite Navy cardstock run through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder just to give it another look.
  • Don’t forget to use lots of Dimensionals – the different heights are essential to make this card really interesting!
  • “Best mother ever” comes from And Many More stamp set – a great staple with 23 greeting stamps for all occasions.
  • Make the sweet flower accent using the Flower Frenzy Bigz Die and the Big Shot.  This die is retiring and available only while supplies last AND it’s 50% off!!!!  Price is marked down from $37.95 to $18.98!!!
  • And Stampin’ Up! always has just the right accent!  A Garden Green Candy Dot from the Regals Collection is all you need to set off this pretty flower.
  • Don’t forget to line your envelope with this pretty paper – the Envelope Liner Framelits and the Big Shot make it so quick and easy!

Happy Birthdays with Hello You Thinlits

Happy Birthday 3

I’ve always maintained that a good, solid layout and some pretty designer paper is just about all you need to create a beautiful card!  I had quite a few birthdays to get ready for this month, and so I thought I’d see how this great layout translated to some of my favorite papers and color schemes.  All the cards use the Hello You Thinlits with the Big Shot to cut out the script “happy” and Four You stamp set for the “Birthday” stamp.

On the card above, I’ve paired my basics with the Stacked with Love Designer Paper Stack.  “happy” is cut out using Silver Foil Paper, and “Birthday” is heat embossed using Silver Embossing Powder.  Hearts come from the Heart Border Punch punched out in Calypso Coral cardstock.  Be sure to pop up the “Birthday” sentiment on Dimensionals.

Happy Birthday 2

For this card, I used Birthday Bash Designer Paper, Night of Navy cardstock for the “happy” and white embossing powder on the Night of Navy cardstock for “Birthday”.  Three Calypso Coral Candy Dots are my accent in the corner.

Happy Birthday 1

This card uses the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder and Big Shot on the Wild Wasabi cardstock and for the tulip print, a piece from Painted Blooms Designer Paper.  Both the “happy” cardstock and the ink for stamping “Birthday” are Blackberry BlissCandy Dots are from the same Subtles package as those from the above card – I used Soft Sky ones this time.

Tea Party and Epic Day

tea party

Today's card doesn't have anything I'd consider "new" because it's all from the Annual Catalog, but Tea Party stamp set is new to me!  I hadn't ordered it yet, and I don't know why.  It's so beautiful, and I'm crazy for tea!

  • I started out wanting to use the This and That Epic Day designer paper and found this really cool piece that looks like it could maybe be a ring from a tea mug.
  • Colors are Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.
  • You'll want the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out this oval perfectly.  I stamped two in two different colors and layered them.
  • The three flowers in the Floral Fusion Sizzlits are such a great accent.  Here are some other cards where I've used the Floral Fusion Sizzlits accents.
  • I also added a Pool Party button from the Subtles Designer Buttons with a Calypso Coral Candy Dot in the center.
  • The FInishing Touches Edgelit created the lacy border, and I used Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon which ties so nicely.
  • Notice the stamping along the right edge?  It's a simply tone-on-tone look but adds another stamped element from the Tea Party collection.

I'm sharing another project today that I designed for my Stamp & Chat event for the demonstrators on my team.  When I first saw our Layered Labels stamp set and coordinating Apothecary Accents Framelits, I know we just had to use these two great new products on a mason jar.

  • Pacific Point card stock is stamped with Layered Labels stamp set and cut out with Apothecary Accents Framelit
  • Scrumptious new International Bazaar designer paper is used along with the Designer Rosettes die and the Big Shot
  • Next layer is Lucky Limeade card stock cut with a different Apothecary Accents Framelit
  • Final "For You" sentiment stamped with Layered Labels and punched out with Lg. Oval Punch
  • I used a hot glue gun to adhere everything
  • Lid is covered with Daffodil Delight fabric from Essentials Designer Fabric pack

Snowflakes and Blue Candy

We crafters are certainly a strange bunch!  Imagine having a project in mind and searching for JUST the right color of candy to put in it!  Doesn't matter what it tastes like, right?  It just has to match!  Don't laugh – I know you've done it, too!  I had the idea of making the project above – and there's not much blue candy on the market!

The Big Shot does it all on this little treat box.  I used the Box #2 die and Baja Breeze textured card stock then cut off the lid.  Don't forget to use the Extended Premium Crease Pad on all dies where there are score lines.  I ran some smooth Baja Breeze card stock through the Big Shot with the Snowflake #2 Originals Die and adhered them (front and back) to the box using Clear Rhinestone Brads.  The treat inside is packaged with Large Flat Cellophane Bag tied with Clear Tinsel Trim and 5/8" Organza Ribbon in Whisper White.  I was done in a snap!  Perfect for those little gifts around the holiday season!

Flower Fancy and Curly Cute

You know that game where you say "If you were stranded on a desert island . . ."?  Well, this card is my version of "If you could only have one image stamp set and one greeting stamp set from the catalog, which ones would you choose?"  Hands down, I choose Flower Fancy — it's the perfect stamp set!  I love that it's two-step stamping and it's so versatile!  And I'm totally lovin' the font in Curly Cute!  Simply gorgeous!  The color scheme is Basic Gray, Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red and Old Olive.  The polka dot designer paper is from Island Oasis Designer Series Paper in the Summer Mini Catalog and is only available through August 31st.  The background gets some added interest using the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and Perfect Polka Dots Textured Embossing Folder.  And my favorite ribbon?  That would be the 3/8" Taffeta  — on this card Old Olive.  If you're interested in a ribbon that ties PERFECTLY all the time, this is the one to buy!  Try a RIBBON SHARE of the 3/8" Taffeta found HERE!  Old Olive Brads from the Brights Brads collection make the centers of these pretty flowers pop!  And don't forget to use Dimensionals.  Raise the flowers off the front just a tad for added interest.

Congratulations to my Team Members – July

A sincere "From the Heart Stampers" congratulations goes out the top three sales people on my team for the month of July! They are:

Pam Kane
Sheila Edwards

and
Cheryl Holman

Great job, ladies!

I also sent a copy of the card to Heather Matos, who achieved her first promotion to Sr. Associate in the first full month she was a demonstrator!  Way to go, Heather!

Here's the card I designed especially for them:

Here's a pretty color combination!  It uses Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizzazz.  Oh, will I ever use Certainly Celery again?!  Pear is just the perfect green for everything!  The Pear Pizzazz card stock strip gets jazzed up a bit with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and a piece of Very Vanilla 5/8" Satin Ribbon.  Next comes a layer of Early Espresso card stock run through the Big Shot using the new Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Man, do I ever love this look!  The Textured Folders are a must have for all your card making and scrapbooking!  I cut a 2-1/2" circle with Pear Pizzazz card stock and the Circle Scissors Plus then ran Pretty in Pink card stock through the Big Shot with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.  I stamped the flower image from Elements of Style onto Very Vanilla card stock then punched it out with the Full Heart Punch and popped it up with Dimensionals.  Thanks to my wonderful customer, Jennifer Kay, for asking me if these two products line up to be used together!  It got me thinking about using them on this card.  The saying "From the Heart" is from Watercolor Trio, stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink and punched out with the Designer Label Punch then placed into a frame from Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.

Lovely Flowers Bundle

Here's a card made by Missy Shipman, my second level upline and team leader of The Gladheart Stampers.  Missy sent me this card because I was the No. 1 salesperson on her entire team for the month of February!  Thank you to all my wonderful customers who purchased from me in February!  And thank you to Missy for her note of congratulations.

Missy used the designer paper and stamp set contained in the Lovely Flowers Bundle, a Level 3 Hostess-Exclusive set and free with a workshop total of $500 or more.  It's a fabulous color scheme with Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Old Olive.  This card is all about using the Big Shot die cut machine to add quick and easy pizzazz to all of your cards.  The oval is cut with the Ovals Originals Die and the Big Shot, and the Melon Mambo scalloped circle is cut with the Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die and the Big Shot.  She did some fabulous dry embossing with the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder and, you guessed it, the Big Shot!  She scalloped the edge of the Crushed Curry card stock with the Scallop Edge Punch and added some beautiful Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon
