Welcome baby with Zoo Babies

Zoo Babies

Zoo Babies stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is still my favorite “go to” set for babies!  The images are sweet, and when paired with the new Sweet Li’l Things Designer Paper and color scheme, it takes on a fresh, new life!

  • There are two new ribbons and trims in this card.  The Tangelo Twist 5/8″ Striped Cotton Ribbon is cinched with some Very Vanilla Thick Baker’s Twine.  These pretty cotton ribbons come in all of the 2014-16 In Colors.  Get your New Catalog Share of these beautiful ribbons plus more right HERE!
  • The sweet star paper is a piece from Sweet Li’l Things Designer Paper and is in Hello Honey.
  • The elephant is stamped in the new In Color Tip Top Taupe, both on the 2″ Very Vanilla circle and on the Envelope to coordinate.  A Pool Party Candy Dot from the Subtles packet acts as the elephant’s eye on the card, and I colored in the eye with a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker for the envelope.
  • The Tangelo Twist cardstock circle is cut with the Circles Framelits and Big Shot, then run through with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.  Both circles are held together with a little mini Clothespin I found amongst one of my kits.  Then that whole main image is popped up off the card with Dimensionals.

  • Just for a little added dimension, I stamped the elephant twice then cut out his ear with Paper Snips and added it with a Dimensional.

Something for Baby

Something for Baby

I had so much fun bringing you this sweet baby card!  I was in the mood for a little experimentation, so let me tell you a few things about my card today.

  • I wanted some designer paper to place in the back of my image and nothing was working.  I just wasn’t happy with what I had.  So I decided to make my own!  I started with punching out some Whisper White cardstock stars from the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I laid them onto an additional piece of Whisper White cardstock, and using a Stampin’ Spritzer with Daffodil Delight ink drops from the Ink Refill mixed with rubbing alcohol, I spritzed all over the cardstock.  When it dried I just shook off the star masks and voila!  Soon I won’t have to make my own masks.  Stampin’ Up! is introducing four different masks I’ll be able to use, but for now, this was a good way to make it work!  NOTE:  I did use Daffodil Delight ink refill because it tends to be a little lighter when you spritz.

I did the same thing to create an inside liner:

Something for Baby inside

  • The sweet little stack toy was created with Something for Baby stamp set and markers in So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar.
  • A Wooden Element was a great accent for my card.  I punched out a 1″ Pistachio Pudding cardstock circle and placed it on top, adding a So Saffron Button and some Baker’s Twine.  The new Fast Fuse was the perfect adhesive to attach my Wooden Element to the cardstock.
  • The sentiment comes from Something to Say stamp set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar ink.
  • I love the addition of a few rounded corners – it just seems to make the card.  I use my Envelope Punch Board for perfect corners every time.

Something for Baby – NEW for 2014!

Hi, All – so sorry I haven’t posted in a while!  Just wanted to show you a picture of who’s been keeping me busy!
LANDON

I had the privilege of spending the past 9 days with one of my grandsons, Landon, while his parents were on vacation.  We had a ball and, in fact, I did get some work done while he was with me!  I’ll be posting that soon for all of you Project Life fans!

But this morning I wanted to dig into my brand new box of Stampin’ Up! goodies!  As a demonstrator, you are able to pre-order new Stampin’ Up! products before they’re available to the general public!  Cool, huh?
Something for Baby

  •  There are quite a few brand new products on this card for baby.  The first is a new bundle that you’ll be able to order – Something for Baby stamp set has 12 stamps and coordinates with Baby’s First Framelits Dies.  Buy them as a bundle and save 15% in either wood or clear mount.  I stamped both the onesie and tie then cut them out in a snap with my Big Shot and new framelits.
  • Another wonderful addition to baby cards is the Lullaby Designer Series Paper – pretty prints in Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Hello Honey and Pistachio Pudding that aren’t just for baby.
  • While it isn’t Coastal Cabana, the Pool Party Subtles Candy Dot works nicely for a tie pin.
  • “Hello Baby” is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set – haven’t purchased any of the fun, new sentiment stamps yet, but this works nicely cut out with Bitty Banners Framelits.
  • Circles Framelits are a must for all paper crafters – the backdrop circle is Hello Honey, one of the five new In Colors for 2014-16.
  • The little accent in the top right is created with the Ticket Punch and a Naturals Designer Button.  Use a sliver of cardstock to act as thread!  NOTE:  Purchase your Naturals Buttons NOW!  They are on the retiring list and will soon be gone!
  • Since my card measures 4-1/4″ square, I pulled out my Envelope Punch Board to create a custom-sized envelope in Hello Honey.

Something for Baby 2

Label Love for Baby

Label Love Baby

  • Label Love is a fun stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that I hadn’t given much attention to. But I got it out and started playing, and I found that it’s a really versatile set full of lots of possibilities!  Here I’ve created a fun baby girl card using a creative paper-piecing technique.
  • Colors I’ve chosen for this sweet baby girl card are So Saffron, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride.
  • Subtles Collection Paper Stack to the rescue for a coordinating piece of So Saffron polka dot paper.  Keep this handy stack on hand in all of the Stampin’ Up! color choices and you’ll be set at a moment’s notice!
  • The Stampin’ Up! catalog lists the Artisan Label Punch as coordinating with Label Love, but I discovered another punch that worked great for the center sentiment – the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.  Another punch, the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, created the tiny flower with So Saffron Candy Dot in the center.
  • Organdy Ribbon is the perfect soft touch for this card!

Are you interested in creating this pinwheel background?  Well, one of May’s Stamp Shoppe cards features written, step-by-step instructions for this great technique.  Be sure to place your qualifying order to receive your set of cards plus the instructions, all for free!  More details on my free cards program can be found HERE.
