January Love & Birthday Card Collection now available!
Here are the new January designs. You’ll see some new Occasions Catalog products as well as Sale-A-Bration products!
You’ll notice that there are 4 rather than 8 cards in this Collection. That’s because I’m going to utilize the other 4-card kit I’ve been designing as well. You’ll still be able to receive 8 cards for your orders! Read on to find out how.
Here are the options:
1. Orders placed that are a minimum of $25 before tax/shipping will earn you EITHER the Stamp With Me card kit OR the new 4-card monthly Card Collection.
2. Orders placed that are a minimum of $45 before tax/shipping will earn you BOTH the Stamp With Me card kit AND the new r-card monthly Card Collection.
Did you miss the Stamp With Me designs? Here they are again:

My card kits will still include pre-cut, pre-punched and pre-die cut cardstock pieces, along with all of the consumable accessories (ribbon, buttons, epoxy accents, etc.) needed to duplicate the featured cards. Stamp With Me cards will no longer include envelopes.
You will receive a PDF tutorial, including full colored photos of each of the cards, along with cutting dimensions, supply lists and step-by-step instructions for assembly.
Pay for your kits or earn them free by placing a Stampin’ Up! order with me. Ordering Code for the January cards is VUD3H3BK.
To place a qualifying order to receive your card kits FREE, click HERE to go to my online store and add Host Code VUD3H3BK into your Shopping Cart. You’ll find the place to enter it in the lower left-hand corner of the Shopping Cart (not at checkout, just the Shopping Cart).
If you’d prefer, you can purchase the card kits rather than earning them free. There is a nice price break if you purchase all 8 cards! Use the button below to pay with any bank card.

Birthday Blooms Happiest of Birthdays

I’ve worked with the Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms stamp set before with my card I posted HERE using the very lovely color scheme that’s found in the Birthday Bouquet Suite. It’s so soft and pretty! But now it’s time to brighten it up by creating a monochromatic card using Tangerine Tango.
- The Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper Stacks in the various color collections is a great investment! For $22, you’ll receive 40 sheets of beautiful 12″x12″ paper, 2 each of 2 double-sided designs in 10 colors (In Color configuration is 4 each of 2 double-sided designs in 5 colors.) This bold diagonal strip is just perfect for so many looks!
- For a bold image, I stamped the sentiment from Birthday Blooms using VersaMark then sprinkled on Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. You’ll need an Embossing Buddy so you won’t get little flecks of black where they don’t belong! Black Embossing Powder is being discontinued, so grab yours now!
- The flower image is stamped using Black StazOn Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. I colored the image in with an Aqua Painter and stamp pads, then cut the image out with Paper Snips and adhered to the Circle using Dimensionals. Note: The Circle Framelits are also retiring!
- Before adhering the circle in place, I pulled apart some of the Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine and used that behind the image. This product is also being retired – and you can order it for 30% off!
- Try this easy layout in any of your favorite colors. I think it would be a great card to build a set around. Make one in each of the ten colors in the Brights Collection, since you will have all the designer paper you need in one packet!
- To continue with the gold accent theme, a little touch of Gold Glitz Dazzling Details sets of the flower center. Be sure to use this product once your card is 100% assembled. It takes a good 20 minutes or so to dry completely.
RETIRING PRODUCTS USED IN THIS CARD:
- Stampin’ Emboss Powder in Black – NOW SOLD OUT
- Circle Collection Framelits
- Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine

Friends & Flowers Fish

Friends & Flowers stamp set AND Pretty Petals Designer Paper are retiring AND I Think You’re Great stamp set is retiring, too – with 25% off the stamp set while supplies last. Grab them while you can!
- I began my card searching through my designer papers to see what could look like a watery background. I found it in the unlikely pack Pretty Petals which you’d think would be all about flowers! But I love that Stampin’ Up! designs the paper usually with a bolder print on one side and a more muted print on the other so you have optimal versatility.
- I scalloped the top of the designer paper with a Circle Punch and adhered it directly to my Whisper White cardstock background.
- Next I stamped the pieces I needed for the two fish using Whisper White Cardstock and Pumpkin Pie Ink. Most of the pieces in the Friends & Flowers stamp set punch out with the coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch! I assembled them and lightly traced the fins and tails with the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. After all, they are goldfish!
- I searched through my sentiments to find the perfect one for this card and came upon the fun speech bubble in I Think You’re Great stamp set. It’s stamped on Whisper White Cardstock with VersaMark Ink then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. Paper Snips cut it out quickly.
- Fish just need bubbles, right?! Mine were created using all three sizes of White Perfect Accents. They’re self-adhesive so went on with no fuss!
- The fish got Pacific Point Candy Dots in the Brights Candy Dot Pack for eyes. Candy Dots are all retiring – oh, my!!! Be sure to add them to your order!
- I rounded the bottom two corners to be more “bowl like” using the Corner Rounder Punch.
- I wanted to create the pebbles on the bottom of a fish bowl, and since I had a little shimmer going on, I opted for Gold Foil punched out using the 1/2″ Circle Punch. A few of the ones on top are adhered with Dimensionals to bring them to life.
- Lining the envelope to coordinate with the card has become one of my favorite “accessorizing” techniques. Use the Envelope Liner Framelits with the Big Shot and adhere inside the Whisper White Envelope flap. And you’re not gonna believe this but the Envelope Liner Framelits are retiring!!!
RETIRING PRODUCTS USED IN THIS CARD:
- Friends & Flowers stamp set
- I Think You’re Great stamp set (25% off)
- Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper
- Brights Candy Dots
- Envelope Liner Framelits

Party Wishes and Party Punch Pack

- The It’s My Party Designer Paper will keep you crafting for a long while! It contains 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double-sided designs in 12″x12″ format.
- The colors are fresh and fun – Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron and Basic Black.
- The Party Punch Pack contains three small handheld punches that punch out the three images shown on my card – the candle, balloon and cupcake. And the stamped images in Party Wishes line up perfectly with the punches – a true match made in Heaven!
- Be sure to use Dimensionals on those punched pieces – it really makes the card!
- I just love the Basic Black and Melon Mambo Baker’s Twine in the Baker’s Twine Combo Pack. The Black and Mint Macaron Twine that comes with it is also a good choice – both coordinate with the designer paper!
- This card can work for everyone – male or female; young or old! Swap out the Melon Mambo cardstock card base for Mint Macaron or Crushed Curry and it becomes more masculine.
It’s almost time to say goodbye to many of the retiring Stampin’ Up! products in both the 2016 Occasions Catalog and the 2015-16 Annual Catalog! The Retiring List will be released by Stampin’ Up! on Monday afternoon (April 18th)! Be sure to stop back in to get the skinny on what’s leaving forever! I’ll post the list as soon as it’s available.

Friends & Flowers with Pretty Petals

- Oh, how I love the Pretty Petals Designer Paper! What an awesome color scheme – Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Old Olive. I threw in a little Crushed Curry too!
- The size of designer paper I needed for my card was 2″ x 5-1/2″. This paper comes in a 6″ x 6″ paper stack, so I had just enough left over to line my envelope. This creates such a customized look for your cards. Use the Envelope Liner Framelits and Big Shot to line all of the Stampin’ Up! envelope sizes.
- Each petal of the flower was stamped four times using VersaMark Ink on Calypso Coral Cardstock, then poured on White Embossing Powder and heat set it using the Heat Tool.
- Using Dimensionals in places as well as curving the flower petals over a Bone Folder makes the finished flower really come to life.
- The leaves were stamped twice on Whisper White Cardstock using Old Olive Ink.
- Centers for the flower are punched out twice and stacked with a small Perfect White Accent in the center.
- I found the perfect sentiment with the Sassy Salutations stamp set. It’s also stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. Be sure to rub your Basic Black cardstock first with the Embossing Buddy so that you don’t have little flecks of white embossing powder sticking where it shouldn’t be!

Have A Cuppa Suite with new colors

I’ve fallen in love with the Have A Cuppa Suite from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Occasions Catalog! Yes, it’s true love. The kind of love that never dies! I’ve made a few cards using the complete suite (you can see them HERE), including A Nice Cuppa stamp set, Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies and Have A Cuppa Designer Paper, so I thought I’d try changing the colors to create a little bit of a different look.
- I still kept the Melon Mambo from the Have A Cuppa designer paper, because I wanted to use a strip of that pretty heart paper. My other colors are Soft Sky, So Saffron and Crumb Cake.
- The heart is stamped in Melon Mambo, cut out with Paper Snips and popped up on a Dimensional. I added a little Rhinestone in the corner for an accent.
- Love paper snipping the lemon and putting it on the cup rim! Use Dimensionals again to get a more “real” lemon look!
- I added the cute tea bag tag stapled to some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and tucked the other end under the cup.
- The sentiment for my card comes from another beautiful 2016 Occasions Catalog stamp set – Birthday Blooms. It’s stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

Balloon Celebration and Weekly Deals

- I began by first stamping the collection of strings on Whisper White Cardstock using a Black Memento Stamp Pad.
- Although there are several stamping options for the balloons themselves, I opted to simply punch out cardstock using the coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch. Bundle and save 15% when you purchase the Balloon Celebration stamp set AND the coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch. I used all colors from the Subtles Collection, with the exception of the In Color Mint Macaron. I just love this soft green!
- I arranged the balloons to look as if they’re coming from the strings and used Dimensionals to create depth to the bundle.

- A piece of Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon ties them all together. Use a Glue Dot for a fast hold.
- Love the font used for the sentiments in Balloon Celebration! I accented my sentiment banner with a Wisteria Wonder Candy Dot from the Subtles Collection.
- The background diagonal striped paper comes from the Subtles Color Collection. This package of designer paper is so versatile and economical. You’ll receive 40 sheets of 12″x12″ paper, 2 each of 2 double-sided designs in all 10 collection colors.
- I often use a thin black border to set off the various elements of my cards. By using Black Cardstock between the card base and the designer paper, it really makes the colors pop!
And today is Tuesday, so there are new Weekly Deals! Stampin’ Up! also announced today that they will be discontinuing the Weekly Deals program on April 18th. So there’s just two weeks left to get in on the savings!

Three for One Today – Happy Birthday, Congrats and Welcome

We’re now into Spring, but not so in Central New York! It’s gloomy and 32 degrees out while I type this post. But no matter what’s going on outside, I can find my “happy place” amidst Stampin’ Up!’s bright, fun colors. And the beautiful It’s My Part Designer Series Paper has the perfect color scheme to brighten anyone’s day – Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and Basic Black.
And I’m trying to use our beautiful Sale-A-Bration products every day, since there are only a few days left of the best Stampin’ Up! sale of the year! My sentiment comes from Perfect Pairings, a wonderful sentiment stamp set that you’ll be able to use time and time again. Here’s another card I made using this great stamp set – click HERE.
My Stampin’ Up! team, the From the Heart Stampers, does a sketch challenge twice a month. It’s a really fun way to see what everyone’s working on and to get some inspiration for a new design. I always start my card designs with a sketch layout, so this is especially fun for me. This is just one of the many perks for being a part of my team. Here’s the sketch I was working from for my card design:
See how easy it is to create a fabulous card with a great sketch and some beautiful Stampin’ Up! supplies!
- I cut the It’s My Party designer paper into different widths from 1/4″ to 3/4″. It killed me to not keep them straight – I’m such a perfectionist – but I thought it actually looked better to be a little “off”.
- The large flower is created using the Floral Frames Framelits with the Big Shot. Circles are cut using the Circle Framelits. Leaves and tiny Crushed Curry flower are cut using Flower Fair Framelits. Yes, I do use my Framelits a lot!
- There’s a little nest of Silver Thread between the flower and the Crushed Curry circle. Just add some SNAIL Adhesive to the center of the flower, wad up a nice long piece of thread and stick it down into the adhesive. Use Dimensionals to hold the circles on top. Yes, this thread looks better “messy” too! At first I wound it around my hand making it into nice, even loops, but it looked too forced.
And why stop there with this great layout! I went on to create some congratulations and welcome cards for my team members. First up is a fabulous “way to go” card, complete with stars and glimmer paper.

- The big star is cut with – you guessed it – the Stars Framelits.
- The tiny silver star is a handheld punch in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and Silver Glimmer Paper.
- “Way to Go” is one of the many celebratory stamps in the Bravo stamp set, found in the main Annual Catalog. I stamped it once in Black Memento Ink then again on scrap paper in Melon Mambo ink and cut out the “to” banner, adhering it over the black stamping with Dimensionals.
- Check out the sweet little Melon Mambo enamel dot from the It’s My Party collection! Love that they have a self-adhesive backing.
And my last version of this card went out to brand new team members who have joined my team this month. In all, we’ve added quite a number of demonstrators, both hobbyists and business-builders, during Sale-A-Bration! There are a few days left – won’t you consider joining our team? During Sale-A-Bration, choose $155 of products and pay only $99 – an extra $30 in products during this sale only. And your starter kit ships free, giving you an additional 10% savings!
Consider taking Stampin’ Up! for a test drive! You have absolutely nothing to lose, and you may gain a great deal – demonstrator discounts, earning extra money and the community of stampers found with my team. Click HERE to check out all the reasons to consider joining the From the Heart Stampers!

Easter Egg with Sale-A-Bration Glitter Tape and Washi Tape

I had so much fun creating the card I’m sharing today. Combining the Metallics Glitter Tape (a free gift during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration) and Washi Tapes to make this Easter egg is so easy, especially if you follow my easy directions below.
Begin with two pieces of Whisper White Cardstock. The one we’re going to cut with the Oval Framelit measures 5-1/4″ x 4″, then use the Corner Rounder on all four corners. This piece will be our frame. The second piece of cardstock measures 5″ x 3-3/4″ and will act as our working surface to create the egg.
On our working surface piece of cardstock, draw the oval using the same framelit that you cut out the frame cardstock with.
Begin using your Glitter and Washi Tapes to fill in the oval. You could also do this with strips of designer series paper, although having the adhesive already on the washi tape makes it go more quickly. For my egg, I used the Cherry on Top Washi Tape and the In Color Washi Tape that is a host-exclusive gift in the 2016 Occasions Catalog, in addition to the Glimmer Tape from Sale-A-Bration.
Adhere your frame cardstock over top of the working surface cardstock and you’re ready to continue to decorate your card!
- The “happy easter” sentiment is easy to separate from the image in the Easter Lamb stamp. Just use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color over the words then stamp onto your Whisper White Cardstock.
- The Rose Garden Thinlits Dies contain a frame that I used to cut out the sentiment, as well as the leaves that were cut out from Cucumber Crush Cardstock. Be sure to have your Fine-Tip Glue Pen handy for the leaves!
- I made the flower by cutting 6 layers of Watermelon Wonder Cotton Paper with the smallest of the Floral Frames Dies. Cut all 6 at the same time, then hold them together as you remove them from the thinlit. Using a Paper-Piercing Tool and Stampin’ Pierce Mat, poke a hole in the center and slide in a Mini Silver Brad. Begin in the center and smoosh the first layer of the flower in tight so it creates a knot in the center. Then smoosh in the other layers working from the center out, gradually smooshing less. (Yes, “smooshing” is a technical crafting term – LOL!)
Don’t Forget!
This is the final month of Sale-A-Bration! Be sure to order your favorite Stampin’ Up! products and choose unlimited free gifts for each and every $50 you spend!
