Let it Snow!
I don’t know what could be sweeter than penguins for a winter card! Snow Place stamp set with coordinating Snow Friends Framelits by Stampin’ Up! are just the ticket for lots of cute winter cards, with lots of fun sentiments that will take you through the long season (at least long here in Central New York!).
- Two of my favorite Stampin’ Up! blues that coordinate beautifully are Soft Sky in the Subtles Collection and Lost Lagoon, one of the 2014-16 In Colors. Add some neutrals white and black and you’re good to go!
- One Stampin’ Up! product that is a super deal and will get you a ton of choices are the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks. There are 4 fresh prints to choose from in all of the colors of the collection of your choice. Here I’ve chosen the Soft Sky polka dot in the Subtles Collection packet.
- New to the 2015 Holiday Catalog is the Curvy Corner Punch. You’re able to create three different types of punches with this one handy punch. Here I’ve used it for the two top corners of the Lost Lagoon cardstock.
- Our sweet accent on this card is a combination of Snowflake Element, an Iced Rhinestone Embellishment and pieces of 1-1/4″ White Jute Ribbon. Use Fast Fuse to adhere the Ribbon to the Glimmer Paper.
- I’ve added a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper Circle to hold the pretty embellishment motif.
- Rhinestones were added to complete the stamped snowflakes.

Reason for the Season
One thing I’ve always loved about how Stampin’ Up! designs their stamp sets is the 2-step stamping technique. I love that they’ve made it so easy to look like a pro! And the Reason for the Season is just such a stamp set. In fact, it’s 4-step stamping!
- I first stamped the poinsettia using the outline stamp and Memento Black Ink. This is the ink of choice with the photopolymer stamp sets!
- Next I inked up the stamp that colored in the flower petals with a Cherry Cobbler stamp pad. The stamp is designed to look like you watercolored the image, so it’s not completely filled in.
- I used the leaf stamp with Pear Pizzazz ink, and finally, there is a center stamp, but I decided to dress up the middle with 3 Silver Brads instead.
- The image is cut out using the Big Shot and a Circles Framelit.
- You’ll love this designer paper called Season of Cheer – so many fun patters to choose from depending on you stamps!
Here’s a look at all the pretty prints:
- The 1-1/4″ Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain Ribbon is just begging to be used for the holidays! I layered on some 1/8″ Silver Ribbon, too, to tie in the Silver Brads.
- There are three different sentiments in the Reason for the Season stamp set, making it so very useful.
Here’s a look at all the images you’ll receive with this stamp set. You’ll also see that there’s a coordinating punch for this set, too. There are three stamps that will stamp designs on the leaves and flower petals that will then punch out with the Festive Flower Builder Punch. Use this versatile stamp set either way!
If you haven’t already begun, now’s the time to start your Christmas cards, and this card is the perfect one to CASE for a card that’s easy to make multiples!

Vintage Leaves and Leaflets Framelits
It’s cooling down here this week in Central New York, and I have one tree in the back yard that’s actually dropping leaves already – a sure sign that Autumn is just around the corner. I love the Vintage Leaves stamp set by Stampin’ Up! because it reminds me of all the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves in my area. And this perfect autumn stamp set comes with coordinating Framelits – Leaflets Framelits – so that you can cut out each one of the leaf shapes. This duo is a must have for the fall, and you’ll save 15% when you bundle them together and purchase both at the same time.
- My color scheme is Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Very Vanilla – such rich, vibrant colors!
- I kept this card simple so as to show off the leaves and my favorite accessory for the fall – our Burlap Ribbon.
- Using two Circle Framelits I stacked the smaller one inside the larger one and cut the thin Rich Razzleberry cardstock circle. And you’re going to fall in love with a brand new product that you can order on September 1st – the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. This is idea for adhering small embellishments and small paper cutouts to your projects, and it’s designed so that the tip will stay open and flowing freely. And once the Holiday Catalog goes live, go to www.stampinup.com/holiday-videos to watch a short video on how to use this wonderful addition to the Stampin’ Up! adhesives.
- The beautiful sentiment on my card is another sneak peek product from the Holiday Catalog – the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set. This too coordinates with the Leaflets Framelits, but the leaves are more . . . well . . . “lighthearted”! I think combining all three products will give you lots of options.
- A Linen Thread double bow held in place with a Glue Dot gives the illusion of tying the leaves together at the stems without all the work.
