Another Great Year and Kaleidoscope DSP
I’ve really enjoyed working with all of the terrific products in the Stampin’ Up! 2013-14 Occasions Catalog. And did you know – most of the products are due to retire on June 1st! I love Another Great Year stamp set – I’ve used it in a couple of other posts HERE and HERE. It’s really a great stamp set and you might want to grab your copy before it’s gone!
- I’ve paired the stamp set with Kaleidoscope Designer Paper, also in the Occasions Catalog and due to retire on June 1st. I love the colors in this pretty retro paper – Bermuda Bay, Summer Starfruit, Strawberry Slush, Basic Black and Whisper White.
- I took a bit of a different slant with this card and began with Basic Black cardstock and using my VersaMark Pad and White Embossing Powder, heat embossed the sentiment. Then I stamped it again using StazOn Black Ink, stamped on an additional piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Paper and then cut out the “happy” and the “to you”. I added them over top of the original stamped images and adhered them to the card with Dimensionals.
- I used a large Metal Button as my accent on this card, and these great embellishments are carrying over into the new catalog!
- Did you wonder with what Stampin’ Up! was going to replace the 2013-15 In Color Ruffled Trim? Well here’s a sneak peek – did you like the 2014 Sale-A-Bration colored twine? Well now we have it in all 5 In Colors! I used Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine on this card. And you’ll be able to order all 5 colors on June 2nd!

Petite Petals meets Flowering Flourishes
I love how the Petite Petals flowers can work with so many other stamp sets! Here I’ve paired it with Flowering Flourishes to create the greenery for the sweet Petite Petals flower. Be sure to get the coordinating Petite Petals Punch to stamp and cut out in a jiff.
- Color scheme is Smoky Slate, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Crushed Curry. Don’t forget to use Smoky Slate as your neutral sometimes! For this get well card, it adds a little subtlety.
- Fancy Fans Embossing Folder created the pretty background. I still love using all of the Stampin’ Up! embossing folders to give texture to the cardstock.
- “Better get better” is from A Dozen Thoughts – a great stamp set for lots of sentiment choices.
- Rich Razzleberry Candy Dots are the perfect accent to hold the sentiment in place and accent the flower center.

Peaceful Petals Thank You
Here’s a card using a stamp set called Peaceful Petals from the Stampin’ Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog. I love this beautiful sketched set! Sentiments in the set are “thank you” and “thinking of you” – the two most used sentiments for me (birthday would be third!). Three flower stamps and two “greenery” stamps are also included. Here’s what you get:
I’ve also made two other cards using Peaceful Petals that you can find HERE and HERE.
- Color scheme is a fun one today – Baked Brown Sugar, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Raspberry Ripple.
- The Raspberry Ripple designer paper comes from the Birthday Basics designer paper – only available while supplies last!
- The Bermuda Bay cardstock is run through the Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder.
- I’ve added a hint of Champagne Glimmer Paper for a little something extra. Grab a 2-Way Glue Pen to make putting adhesive on a skinny piece super easy.
- The main image is Crushed Curry cardstock stamped with the same color ink with the image from Peaceful Petals. Then I took an Aqua Painter and colored in the petals with Crushed Curry ink. It gives you a pretty, subtle flower. I used a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out the image and adhere with Dimensionals.
- Thank you is stamped with Baked Brown Sugar ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Final Day of FREE Shipping and Another Great Year
Be sure to place your final orders today for FREE shipping – it’s been crazy this week with everyone getting their orders in for retiring products AND taking advantage of free shipping AND getting free May card kits!
I have a card today that mixes the old with the new. Another Great Year is a super fun birthday stamp set, with lots of different images. Here I’ve used the sentiment along with the sweet cupcake.
- Color scheme is Strawberry Slush, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black and Whisper White – yum!
- If you don’t already own it, be sure to pick up the Arrows Embossing Folder – I love how both sides look very different!
- I’ve used the embossing folder with Pool Party Core’dinations cardstock. Sadly, all of the Core’dinations cardstock are being retired. I loved using this pretty paper. Use it “as is” for a textured cardstock look, or use it with a Sanding Tool to rough it up a bit.
- I’ve used two different sets of framelits on this card – Banners Framelits for the Strawberry Slush cardstock and Deco Label Framelits for the sentiment and Wild Wasabi frame.
The cute cupcake is stamped with Staz-On Ink, punched out with a 1″ Circle Punch (backed by a 1-1/4″ Basic Black cardstock circle) and colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers. I added a touch of Dazzling Details using a 2-Way Glue Pen to hold it neatly in place. - The final touch is some Basic Black 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon.
Don’t Forget!
- FREE shipping – today’s it!
- Retiring Stamps and Retiring Accessories lists are here – products only available “while supplies last”!

Springtime Hello for My Wonderful Mother
Mother's Day isn't too far away, so today I'm showing you a card using Springtime Hello stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog. You could also use this card for Easter.
- I love the color scheme – Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Basic Black – and I got this from the Stampin' Up! Color Coach, a great tool for combining colors successfully.
- The Daffodil designer paper is from Quatrefancy Specialty paper.
- The little Basic Black cardstock edging was created with the Stampin' Trimmer using the Rotary Addition and TIny Wave Cutting Blade.
- The main image is created with the Springtime Hello stamp with markers in Daffodil Delight and Old Olive, then punched out with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.
- Delightful Dozen stamp set offers so many sentiments – this one is stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with the Heat Tool and Black Embossing Powder.
- Did you know that a quick coloring with a Sharpie can turn your Basic Pearls into any color you choose? Here I've used a black Sharpie to create black pearls.
Because I used Basic Black cardstock for my card base, I decided to do a little decorating on the inside, too. I lined the inside with Whisper White cardsotck then stamped a coordinating image and used a strip of the designer paper down the side.

People Like You and Perfect Pennants
People Like You is a single stamp from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog. It's such a beautiful image! And although the sentiment is a wonderful one, you can replace it with anything you'd like just by using the Decorative Label Punch that lines up with the stamp. I've also created THIS CARD the same way.
- Colors are Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip and Strawberry Slush.
- There's a touch of giltter in the centers of the flowers using Dazzling Details and 2-Way Glue Pen.
- I sponged around the edges of the sentiment from Perfect Pennants with Pear Pizzazz ink so that it would stand out a bit better and coordinate with the stem then popped it up on Dimensionals.
- Corner rounding has never been easier with the Envelope Punch Board – a perfect 2-in-1 tool investment!
- Three Chocolate Chip Candy Dots from the Neutrals Collection complete this simple card.

Another Great Year with Flowers
Once again, Stampin' Up!'s beautiful designer papers have come to the rescue with a beautiful color palette for my card today. I've used a piece of designer paper from the Birthday Basics collection, then set about to make some flowers in Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe, Raspberry Ripple, Island Indigo and Gumball Green.
Another Great Year is a super fun birthday stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog There are so many components that I'm sure I'll be showing you what else you can do with this set in another post. Here, I've just used one of the sentiment stamps and stamped it in Basic Gray ink. Here are all of the images you'll receive when you order Another Great Year:
I let the flowers on this card do the "wow" work. Flowers are punched with the Pansy Punch and the Petite Petals Punch (which I'm afraid is on backorder right now), and the greenery is cut out with the Big Shot and the Secret Garden Framelits. XL Rhinestones set off the centers.

For the Birds and Fresh Prints
My card today includes an older stamp set paired with a new designer paper. I love combining things that Stampin' Up! hasn't shown together to create a different look.
- I started out using Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack for the paper and to pick up the color scheme – Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, and a hint of Daffodiil Delight.
- I love the For the Birds stamp set! It's a great one especially if you're just starting out because there are so many images and lots of different sentiments. There's even a stamp for Christmas – click here to see what I've done with it. Here's what's contained in this great set:
- The very best paper to stamp and watercolor using Stampin' Up!'s stamp pads and Aqua Painter is our Watercolor Paper. It's so easy to get a nice watercolored image this way! My second choice in paper for watercoloring is Stampin' Up! Naturals White (Item No. 102316) or Naturals Ivory (Item No. 101849). The Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock are designed to stamp images beautifully, but because of their tight surface, they don't take the water as well.
- Circles are punched using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, or you could also use the Circles Framelits.
- I added some Real Red Stitched Ribbon, a Real Red cardstock flower using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and added a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot to the center to pull in the yellow from the watercolored image.

Feel Better with Petite Petals
I'm really trying to "Think Spring" today, but it's a bit difficult when it's STILL in the 20's and it's snowing this morning! But I have a springy get well card for you that's sure to put a smile on the person receiving it!
- Haven't had a chance to purchase the new Hardwood background stamp from the Occasions Catalog. It's actually on its way, but for now I'll use my older Woodgrain background stamp to stamp the Baked Brown Sugar square cardstock for the background.
- Punches and Big Shot dies take center stage on this quick and easy card. I've used the Petite Petals stamp and coordinating Petite Petals Punch to create the Strawberry Slush flowers. Buy these two new products in a bundle and save 15%!
- I used Old Olive cardstock and the Bird Punch to create the branch, and Beautiful Wings Embosslit to make the butterfly.
- Pearls are the only accent to keep this card nice and simple.
- "Feel Better Soon" is one of the beautiful stamps contained in the hostess-exclusive stamp set called Express Yourself. It's yours free (plus more!) when your workshop totals at least $150 or if you place your own order for that amount.
Don't Forget!
- The Sale-A-Bration countdown has begun – less than a week left to receive your FREE gift for each increment of $50 you spend. View the Sale-A-Bration flyer HERE.
