Another Great Year and Kaleidoscope DSP
I’ve really enjoyed working with all of the terrific products in the Stampin’ Up! 2013-14 Occasions Catalog. And did you know – most of the products are due to retire on June 1st! I love Another Great Year stamp set – I’ve used it in a couple of other posts HERE and HERE. It’s really a great stamp set and you might want to grab your copy before it’s gone!
- I’ve paired the stamp set with Kaleidoscope Designer Paper, also in the Occasions Catalog and due to retire on June 1st. I love the colors in this pretty retro paper – Bermuda Bay, Summer Starfruit, Strawberry Slush, Basic Black and Whisper White.
- I took a bit of a different slant with this card and began with Basic Black cardstock and using my VersaMark Pad and White Embossing Powder, heat embossed the sentiment. Then I stamped it again using StazOn Black Ink, stamped on an additional piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Paper and then cut out the “happy” and the “to you”. I added them over top of the original stamped images and adhered them to the card with Dimensionals.
- I used a large Metal Button as my accent on this card, and these great embellishments are carrying over into the new catalog!
- Did you wonder with what Stampin’ Up! was going to replace the 2013-15 In Color Ruffled Trim? Well here’s a sneak peek – did you like the 2014 Sale-A-Bration colored twine? Well now we have it in all 5 In Colors! I used Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine on this card. And you’ll be able to order all 5 colors on June 2nd!

I'm in LOVE with the new Hexagon Hive Thinlit! The possibilities are endless with this great new tool in the Occasions Catalog. I'm thinking of a plan for all of the Very Vanilla hexagons that were cut out of this card!
- HELPING HINT: When creating your "sandwich" for the Big Shot, use the platform, then your cutting pad, then your cardstock, then a piece of waxed paper, then the die, then your last cutting pad. By putting in the waxed paper, your cardstock will pop right out.
- Black and Vanilla are such a classic look and the Modern Medley Designer Paper is just that – all prints in black and vanilla which are so usable! I love the little pop of color – Strawberry Slush for the flowers and Pool Party for the butterflies.
- The flower comes from two wonderful coordinating products – Flower Shop stamp set and Pansy Punch. I just stamped two then used a Dimensional between them to add a nice focal point.
- Center of the flower is a Basic Metal Button, also from the Occasions Catalog, with Pool Party Twine in the center. This, along with many other products, can be yours during Sale-A-Bration completely free with a qualifying order! And don't forget your Glue Dots to hold the button in place.
- Butterflies come from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. This isn't a new product, but I continue to use it over and over. This great tool die cuts and embosses the butterflies with one pass through the Big Shot.
- Sentiment comes from Six-Sided Sampler stamp set – there are three that would work on the Hexagon Hive cardstock.

Today is a quick and easy card, and Stampin' Up! makes it so easy with coordinating products!
- Use the Starburst Sayings bundle – stamp set and framelits – to create great layered main images. I changed it up a bit by using Circle Framelits to cut out the Tangerine Tango layer.
- Gorgeous Grunge stamp set gives the splattered look – mine gets constant use!
- The pretty colored strips are Retro Fresh Washi Tape and go on in a snap.
- A Metal Button and Whisper White Baker's Twine complete the simple look.
Double layering the white card base and the top of the card gives a lot of appeal. I've raised the front of the card up with lots and lots of Dimensionals.

by Happy Birthday Blooms
Birthday Bouquet is another beautiful suite in the Stampin’ Up! 2016 Occasions Catalog. Having a suite of products that coordinates perfectly completely takes the guesswork out of what to use to create a gorgeous card – Stampin’ Up! does it all for us! I’ve only used a few of the products highlighted in the catalog, but feel free to add more!
- A beautiful designer paper like Birthday Bouquet DSP is the perfect place to begin a card. Here I’ve used two of these prints combined with the Blushing Bride and White diagonal stripe from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.
- The pretty background created allows our sweet sentiment from Birthday Blooms stamp set to shine. Stamped in Pool Party ink and cut out with the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch, it’s the perfect focal point to our quick and easy card.
- The new Pool Party Glitter Ribbon is SCRUMPTIOUS! I was a little hesitant to order it because usually glitter means it’s stiff. But this is so soft and ties really nicely!
- In case you’d like to copy this layout using this designer paper or any other pretty papers, the three designer pieces each measure 1-1/2″ x 3″.
- It seems I use the Petite Petal Punch a lot – it’s just the right touch to so many cards!
- For one of the flower centers, I used a Metal Rimmed Pearl; the other flower center is a Pool Party button from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack threaded through the center with White Baker’s Twine. Don’t forget your Glue Dots for adhering the button!
