Inside the Jar . . .
I grew up in the country – don't know if you remember people storing matches in mason jars, but I got the idea that the jar in this post should be filled with matchbook cards. They're really simple to make and something fun and different. This card measures 2-3/4" x 9-1/4" and is scored at 3-1/4", 3-1/2" and 7-3/4" but you can make them any size you want. I was aiming for a card that would fit through the mouth of the mason jar.
- World Treasures stamp set is used for the flower image.
- For quick and easy coloring, I stamped in Chocolate Chip ink then used a sponge dauber in Daffodil Delight ink to dot color on the flowers.
- Sentiment is from Petite Pairs stamp set.
- Scallop Trim Border Punch gives the edge a pretty look.
- A touch of International Bazaar Designer Paper gives it the pop it needs.
- I embellished with Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Ribbon and Rhinestones.
- Flap is held in place on the card like a traditional pack of matches – with a staple in the center bottom behind the ribbon.
