Flower Fest Make & Take
Here's a fun, easy card we made at a recent workshop with my friend Joanne. It features Flower Fest stamp set and the pretty color combination of Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango. I picked these colors from the gorgeous colors in our Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper. This is another great way to get terrific color schemes for your own creations. Just look at some of the beautiful designer papers on pages 184 through 186 in the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog and copy! (The flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight but look a little green in the photo!) A Rhinestone Jewel looks great in the center of the flower, and a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon adds an extra interesting element.

Workshop cards – old and new!
Here are two workshop cards we did last week at Chrysue's workshop. She had a couple of requests – one was to have me show her some ideas using Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, an oldie but goodie. She also wondered how to create cards using the Two-Step Bird Punch. And I know she loves Night of Navy. So here's what I came up with for us to work on.
I love how simple but how effective this first card turned out. I paired Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Night of Navy and Bashful Blue, along with Inspired by Nature and Flight of the Butterfly stamp sets. These two sets work so well together. And of course the Butterfly Punch coordinates, too.

And here's our second project:
We began with River Rock card stock, ran it through the Big Shot using the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Framed Tulips. Then we used a Stampin' Sponge to apply Always Artichoke Classic Ink to the raised portion of the card stock. We created a pinwheel background using Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper. The bird was created with the Two-Step Bird Punch and Rose Red, and Always Artichoke card stocks and a snip of the designer paper to coordinate. Each person could stamp a sentiment in the inside.

August Workshop Card
Here's one of the cards we made at a workshop this week. It uses a gorgeous color combination — Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Night of Navy — along with an equally gorgeous stamp set, Just Believe. I began with a standard 1/2 sheet of 8-1/2"x11" card stock, folded it in half then sliced off 3/4" along the front right edge. Faux stitching is a breeze with our Mat Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool, along with the Gel Pen. I ripped a piece of Old Olive card stock, adhered it to a strip of Night of Navy card stock then adhered both along the right side. The main image is off-stamped on Confetti White card stock with Night of Navy stamp pad (simply ink up your image, stamp first on a scrap piece of card stock then onto your "good" card stock without reinking), and the sentiment is stamped in "full-strength" Night of Navy classic ink. I've torn the bottom edge of the tag and backed it with Old Olive card stock. I punched a hole in the top and fed through some 1/8" Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon. I love having Build-A-Brads on hand! Simply stamp an image from the stamp set on a piece of Confetti White card stock, punch out with a circle punch, adhere it to the brad with SNAIL adhesive and pop on the adhesive acrylic bubble over top to create a custom look. Here I've used Cajun Craze classic ink.
