Stampin’ Up! Making Spirits Bright
I’m not normally a traditional Christmas colors kinda gal. But I adore the new Stampin’ Up! paper stack called Trim the Tree. I’ve centered my card today around two of the 24 different prints you’ll receive in this versatile pack of 4-1/2″x6-1/2″ assortment.
- The base of my card is Whisper White Cardstock, but I’ve cut a piece of Garden Green Cardstock at 4″x5-1/4″ to act as the base to hold the designer paper and create the small strip down the center.
- The main image is stamped on Whisper White Cardstock using Memento Ink. I colored the holly and candy cane in with coordinating markers from the Regals Marker Collection. The bow on the glass is created using Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, and the drink looks liquidy using Crystal Effects. I’ve cut the image out using the Circles Collection Framelits and Big Shot.
- The “Merry Christmas” banner is stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink. Notice the two buttons on the banner – I couldn’t decide between Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler, so I used them both, stacking the smaller on top of the larger using a Glue Dot. But before I adhered them, I tied a bow using Linen Thread. And by the way, the Regals Button Collection is on sale this week only as one of the Weekly Deals – get yours for just $5.96 this week!

For All Things
Fall card making and stamping has never been more fun than with the For All Things stamp set and coordinating Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! These are “my colors” – Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow team up with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. And the designer paper is so versatile – nice prints to work with on one side and beautiful neutrals on the other. Take a look at all of the prints:
- This card came about by wanting to show off this pretty paper, so I kept things simple. I stamped the watercolor image on Very Vanilla Cardstock using a Sahara Sand stamp pad, then used Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers to color direct to the rubber stamp to create the sentiment.
- I punched the sentiment out using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to the front using Dimensionals.
- The fiber decoration to the left comes from several different Stampin’ Up! accessories. First I cut the selvage of both sides of the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon to make it narrower and also to let the edges fray naturally. I used the new Stampin’ Up! adhesive Fast Fuse to adhere the burlap to the cardstock. Think Sticky Strip only in a dispenser! Next came the gorgeous Mossy Meadow 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon then some Venetian Crochet Trim. Finally I unwound some of the Natural Old Olive Two-Tone Trim and used just some of the vanilla trim through the center of the Gold Basic Metal Button. Button is attached to the card with Glue Dots.

2014 Founders Circle Swap
I’m back from the Stampin’ Up! Founders Circle trip to St. George, UT! It was an amazing trip, spending time with the top 100 demonstrators in the US and the top 20 demonstrators in Canada. We were completely spoiled by the Stampin’ Up! staff!
One of the best parts of Founders Circle is swapping with everyone and seeing all the creativity from these very talented ladies. This is the card that I swapped – I made 115 of these! I had thought I chose an easy-ish design, but when you’re making 115 of anything, it quickly becomes clear that nothing is easy! But I did have fun making these and hope you enjoy seeing one of my first cards using new Stampin’ Up! products from the Holiday Catalog.
- I just love the Angled Tag Topper Punch carried in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Believe me, this is such a quick and easy way to create tags, whether you’re going to be using them on cards or making stand-alone gift tags. Just be sure to cut your cardstock at a hair under 2″ so that it slides easily into the punch. You can make the length any measurement you want!
- I’ve used the new Cherry Cobbler 1″ Sheer Linen Ribbon for the top of the tag, held on by a Mini Staple with Stampin’ Up!’s new Handheld Stapler. The Stapler has a nice, long reach so you can staple way in on your cardstock if you choose.
- I pulled out an older embossing folder called Northern Flurry because it coordinated so nicely with the cute little snowflakes contained in the Frosted Sequins packet. Use Glue Dots to hold the sequins onto your cardstock.
- It’s fun to create a card layer that’s not straight – I simply cut my cardstock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and after running it through the Big Shot with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, adhered it at an angle then trimmed off the excess.
- Adding a narrow strip of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock tied in the ribbon nicely. Use a Two-Way Glue Pen for those skinny pieces!

Guest Designer – Sheila Edwards
Here's a beautiful swap designed by friend and team member, Sheila Edwards. Colors are Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Crumb Cake, although the Cherry Cobbler for some reason photographed sort of real red instead! This is another example of a great use of the Northern Flurries Embossing Folder.
- Stamp these cute gingerbread men in Soft Suede ink, then cut them out with the coordinating Framelits!
- Add Rhinestones, but first, color them in with a red Sharpie!
- Use an Apothecary Arts Framelits to cut the pretty Gumball Green piece for the sentiment.
- Sentiment from More Merry Messages
