Totally Trees Congratulations
Today’s card features the gorgeous Totally Trees stamp set by Stampin’ Up! and the beautiful 12″ x 12″ designer paper pack from the Annual Catalog called Moroccan Designer Series Paper. I created this special card to congratulate my team members on their achievements last month. Of course, you could change the sentiment and send it for any occasion.
The Totally Trees stamp set offers such a wide variety of images that coordinate and that help you create a tree in any season! Take a look:
Here are some tips and tricks to help you recreate this card:
- My color scheme came from the Moroccan Designer Series Paper – Cajun Craze, Emerald Envy, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla – oh, so pretty!
- The Very Vanilla Lace Trim gives a sweet edge to the designer paper. I adhered it to the DSP with Fast Fuse, then that unit to the card front.
- I decided to offset the circles I created with the Layering Circles Framelits and the Big Shot. Guess I was in a rebellious mood that day!
- Our copper accents dress this pretty card up quite a bit – Copper Metallic Thread, Copper Foil Paper for the leaf cut with the Leaflets Framelits and Big Shot, and the sentiment embossed using Copper Embossing Powder. (Stamp with VersaMark pad, sprinkle on embossing powder and heat set with Heat Tool.)
It’s a terrific time to stock up on the Moroccan Designer Paper, as well as lots of other beautiful designer papers! But hurry – sale ends October 31st!
October 1 through 31, buy three packages of Designer Series Paper and get one free! And there are some gorgeous ones this year! This sale includes Designer Series Paper from both the Annual Catalog and the recently released Holiday Catalog (not including Specialty Designer Series Paper or Designer Series Paper Stacks).
Here are the papers on sale:

Birthday Cards with Vintage Leaves
I just love fall, and New York State this time of year is simply magnificent. The colors are so vivid and beautiful in the sunlight! Today I’ve created two birthday cards inspired by the changing leaves in my area and the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Vintage Leaves.
- One of my most favorite techniques is emboss resist – stamping in VersaMark Ink, heat embossing with White Embossing Powder then using Sponge Daubers and various stamp pads to create a beautiful backdrop for your stamped images. And there’s no better time than fall to highlight this technique.
- I began applying the colors first by using a Sponge Dauber in Crushed Curry ink and going over the entire face of the card lightly with this first color.
- Next I added in Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz and just blended the colors together as they touched. Have fun with this step – if you don’t like something just keep blending and adding color.
- The sentiment from Wetlands stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso ink then cut out with the coordinating Leaflets Framelits, with a piece of Linen Thread tied to the leaf’s stem. I kept it simple, popping the leaf up on Dimensionals and letting the background shine.
BIG TIP: You’ll need to dedicate one Sponge Dauber to each of your colors. In order to keep them well organized, I use my label maker and create a label for each dauber.
Each dauber has its own color label:
and they get neatly stored in this craft box – the perfect size!
You can find this nifty case on Amazon by searching for “dauber with storage box by Darice”.
Next up are the same two stamp sets, but I changed the color scheme, sponging on Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Blackberry Bliss.
- I oriented the card the other way and used the Wetlands stamps on the tag, punching it out with the Note Tag Punch.
- I wrapped the Linen Thread around the card front three times then tied a bow for the top.
- A couple of Dimensionals holds the tag in place.
I’d love to hear from you as to which card you prefer! Color choice is so important, and people have such different favorites – what’s yours? Leave me a comment below.

Lighthearted Leaves
Fall is definitely my favorite time here in New York State. We’ve had perfect temperatures, sunny skies and no humidity. And the colors of Fall are my most favorite, too! Today I’m showing you the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set by Stampin’ Up!, that coordinates with the Leaflets Framelits for the Big Shot. There’s also a coordinating designer paper called Into the Woods, as well as a new Into the Woods Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon. Here’s how to make my card:
- I began with Whisper White Cardstock, folded in half. The top layer is Soft Suede Cardstock, but before I adhered that down to the card base, I added the Into the Woods Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon and the Gold 1/8″ Ribbon. AND the Gold Ribbon is on the Weekly Deals list this week so be sure to grab some at a discount. See the Weekly Deals below.
- I used a very thin strip of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and a 3/4″ strip of Into the Woods Designer Paper to highlight the bottom.
- Both sentiment and leaf are heat embossed using a VersaMark Stamp Pad and Heat Tool. I find the Embossing Buddy a tremendous help when embossing on darker colored cardstock; it really keeps the Gold Embossing Powder from clinging where you don’t want it.
- Daffodil Delight, while not really a Fall yellow, helps brighten the otherwise darker colors of the card. I also used a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot, as well as a couple of Gold Sequins for accents.

Lots of Card Samples!
At our weekend retreat, there were lots of sample boards from team members showing off their creativity with Stampin’ Up! products. Many were great Christmas card ideas, and it’s certainly time to be thinking about them. I’ll share several with you today and more later on! Unfortunately, I didn’t write down who created what so I’m not able to give credit to our talented artists.
I was really drawn to the watercolor effect background for this card using For All Things stamp set. And the Autumn Wooden Element is a great touch.
The quilter in me just adored this beautiful card. And it’s a great way to use up your designer paper scraps! Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack is the focal point here, with the sentiment coming from Festival of Trees stamp set.
I loved the homespun take on the Bright & Beautiful stamp set. The addition of the Star Embossing Folder, Doily and Burlap Trim are nice accents.
Here in New York, we can only dream of flowers and sunshine right now, but I love this sample using Kinda Eclectic paired with Petite Petals stamp sets.
And here’s another beautiful sample of Kinda Eclectic stamp set – this set has got to be one of the most versatile we’ve had in a while! Love all you can do with the various collage images.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a bit of the creative powers of my team members.

Stamping with Baby Wipe Technique
I just love using the Baby Wipe Technique with Stampin’ Up! Ink Refills! And this technique works really well with Seasonally Scattered, a fun stamp set in the Holiday Catalog. Here’s how you’ll begin:
- Choose about 4 colors for your palette. I wanted this to be a Fall look, but I also wanted it to look just a little different than the usual colors, so I chose Crushed Curry, Rose Red, Garden Green and Eggplant Envy.
- Fold a baby wipe in half and lay it on a surface that won’t bleed through. I use my old-style stamp case. This way, I can shut the lid and my inks stay wet for quite some time.
- Squeeze about 10 drops of each color ink onto the baby wipe, being sure not to leave white spaces between the colors.
- Press your stamp into your homemade ink pad then stamp. Be sure to clean your stamp each time you use it so that your colors don’t get muddy.
- I used a thin border of Elegant Eggplant cardstock between the two layers of Very Vanilla. My accessories are the Hello Honey Ribbon (close enough to the Crushed Curry ink) with an Autumn Wooden Element.

Bundle and Save 15% on Fun Fall and Fall Fest
Fall Fest stamp set and coordinating Fun Fall Framelits have been my favorite new Stampin’ Up! products this Fall! I love all of the interchangeable components in the stamp set, making it great for Halloween and Fall all in one set. And when you purchase both at the same time, you’ll save 15% on the set!
Remember when we were “all over” the new In Colors when they were introduced in June? And then I sort of forgot about them for a bit. Well, now is the time to pull them out and use them like crazy! Look at this beautiful Fall pallette – Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey.
- I really wanted to highlight these beautiful colors that look so great together, so I used some color blocking as my backdrop.
- A Whisper White Cardstock oval was cut using the Oval Framelits and Big Shot. All of the images were stamped on Whisper White Cardstock then cut out using the Fun Fall Framelits.
- I tied a piece of Linen Thread around the larger pumpkin and slipped on an Autumn Wooden Element. You’ll find these sweet little accents being used over and over again on your Fall projects.
- Dimensionals are important with any card, but this one in particular to achieve the realistic overlay of the various pieces. The smaller pumpkin and leaf are brought to the foreground to give the scene some nice depth.
- “Grateful for You” is stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink on the Hello Honey Cardstock. You’ll find this sentiment in another terrific Stampin’ Up! Fall stamp set called For All Things. And you’ll find another card using different elements of the For All Things stamp set HERE.

For All Things
Fall card making and stamping has never been more fun than with the For All Things stamp set and coordinating Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! These are “my colors” – Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow team up with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. And the designer paper is so versatile – nice prints to work with on one side and beautiful neutrals on the other. Take a look at all of the prints:
- This card came about by wanting to show off this pretty paper, so I kept things simple. I stamped the watercolor image on Very Vanilla Cardstock using a Sahara Sand stamp pad, then used Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers to color direct to the rubber stamp to create the sentiment.
- I punched the sentiment out using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to the front using Dimensionals.
- The fiber decoration to the left comes from several different Stampin’ Up! accessories. First I cut the selvage of both sides of the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon to make it narrower and also to let the edges fray naturally. I used the new Stampin’ Up! adhesive Fast Fuse to adhere the burlap to the cardstock. Think Sticky Strip only in a dispenser! Next came the gorgeous Mossy Meadow 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon then some Venetian Crochet Trim. Finally I unwound some of the Natural Old Olive Two-Tone Trim and used just some of the vanilla trim through the center of the Gold Basic Metal Button. Button is attached to the card with Glue Dots.

Gently Falling 25% Off
New York State has some of the prettiest Fall weather in the country. The colors haven't changed completely yet, but the oak trees are beginning to yellow. Here's the view out my stamping studio window:
Today I'm sharing a repeat project I did last year using the Gently Falling stamp set. It's one of my favorite Fall sets ever, and if you haven't purchased it yet, now's the time – from now until Monday (just 3 short days!), this fantastic set is 25% off! It's a great two-step stamping set, meaning that each leaf has two stamps to it. Stamp the lighter base leaf image, then stamp over it in a darker ink with the outline image.
To view the four individual cards I've created for this set, click here.
Order Gently Falling today, along with your other favorites from the 25% off by clicking here.
