Flirtatious Marker Case
Here's a fun project using Stampin' Up!'s new fabric line called Flirtatious Designer Fabric. It isn't my own idea – I got it from Convention this past July – but I made it my own by adding some piping around the edges to bring in the third color of fabric. The Stampin' Up! version used just 2 of the 3 fabrics and was less sewing – you can just put the pieces together using the Fabric Adhesive Roll and use pinking shears on the edges rather than the trim. This case is designed to hold the two sets of In Color Markers each year, for a total of 10 markers. You could also use it for a travel case for make-up brushes or change the size a bit and use it for children's crayons.
Here's a picture of the case as it's rolled up and tied closed. The 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon in Melon Mambo coordinates perfectly.
Everyone likes a little competition, right? So I'm giving this fun marker case to the first person on my Stampin' Up! Team of From the Heart Stampers who signs up a new member! Won't that be fun!

Cards from Stampin’ Up! Convention
Here's a couple of cards that were also part of our Convention Make & Take session. This first card measures 3"x6" and has a More Mustard card stock base. We were given Best Friends Forever stamp set and used some of the fabric left over from our Stampin' Card Keeper called Timeless Portrait Designer Fabric. "Just Because" comes from It's Your Day stamp set and the Lace Ribbon Border Punch punched in Lucky Limeade card stock peeks out just a bit from the bottom of the image and is backed by Island Indigo card stock. A Cherry Cobbler flower button from the Regals Designer Buttons with Linen Thread through the center makes a perfect accent.
This little card shows off lots of products – the Lace Ribbon Border Punch punches out Lucky Limeade card stock with Linen Thread tied through. The sentiment comes from a small little set that coordinates with our Simply Sent Great Day kit; it's called It's Your Day and contains "just because" and "it's your day" in a super cute font. A Basic Pearl decorates the base of the pretty flower from Raining Flowers stamp set. Card base is Island Indigo.

Stampin’ Up! Fabric
At the Stampin' Up! Leadership Convention in Nashville in January, we were treated to the most beautiful make and take projects ever! We made the brooch above using the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Fabric and Fun Flowers Die for the Big Shot. Did you know that you can cut up to 8 layers of fabric at a time using the Big Shot? It really makes for fast results! Tucked in between the fabric layers are pieces of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper punched with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, as well as a Paper Daisy painted with Platinum Shimmer Paint. Snips of Victoria Crochet Trim and Baja Breeze Seam Binding are also part of this brooch. But wait – there's more! The crowning glory is the pretty motif on the top center – a stamped butterfly image from Clearly For You stamp set adorned with a Beveled Window Pane, Vanilla Seam Binding, Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and a Trinket Key! This brooch is vintage all the way! It's all held together using a hot glue gun for each layer and for the pin on the back.
I came home and made my simpler version using the Sweet Stitches Designer Fabric, along with a Sweet Stitches Designer Big Button, Pompom Trim, Vintage Trinkets safety pin and 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie. It matches my new apron using the same fabric that I'll show you in another post!

Layout Idea and new Sidebar Button
I held a Let's Sale-A-Brate Card Making Class that was advertised HERE. One of my customers, Phyl Lyons of Seneca Falls NY, took a card from this class and used the layout to create her very own versions!
Here's her first card using Forest Friends stamp set:
Her second card uses Fox & Friends from the Occasions Mini Catalog:
Both of these stamp sets work so well with this layout! And I love the different color schemes!
Here's the card that was taught at the card class where Phyl got her layout idea:
Now it's your turn! Why not create your very own card using this layout, and let me know how it goes. You can send a message as well as a link to your photo by clicking on "comments" below.
BY THE WAY, did you check out the left sidebar today? I've added a free instructional pdf file for making a quilt square with the Big Shot! Just click on the box!

Heartfelt Stampers Team Fun
I look so forward to getting together with my Stampin' Up! team members on the first Thursday evening of each month. It's time to learn, be recognized and of course stamp! But my favorite part is just reconnecting with women I've come to call very special friends. This month was especially exciting because we've change the format of our Team Times to include lots more stamping and a newly revised recognition program. Here are pictures and some of the highlights of the evening.
In January we met to work on some fabric ideas using the Big Shot and the Scallop Square Die. You can view a couple of the bags that were made HERE. Pam Kane brought along her version of the rag purse — she turned it into a supply tote by making a bag that would accommodate a photo box. How cool is that!
Phyl Lyons also shared a project she's been working on. It's a very cute note pad holder and matching pen. Wish I could have taken Phyl's class and made this myself!
Missy Shipman, my "upline's upline" sent some fun things our way! Here's a beautiful felt pin she made each of us in attendance using the Big Shot:
She also sent me a beautiful hand-stamped card with matching envelope for being in her top 10 Sales Achievers! It's using Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Missy's card is so gorgeous, and it's a reminder to do some stamping on the envelope as well.
I was also recognized by my upline, Aly Schilling, for top sales achiever in her group, as well as recruiting a new team member. Aly began making these darling Sweet Treat prizes for us! I was lucky enough to earn four of them!
And here's the card I received from Aly as well. February was a great month for me — thank you to all my wonderful customers for your support!
We also did some swapping, but I'll save those cards for later!
Would you like to come to our next Team Time? Contact me to find out how to become a part of a very active group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators and join in the fun!

My Big Shot Rag Purse
I'm on a roll with sewing, and I'm just LOVING the ease of cutting out all of the fabric with the Big Shot. Did you know that the Big Shot will cut 8 layers of fabric at a time? It made cutting for this purse a breeze! All of the squares for both the outside and the inside lining were cut with the Stampin' Up! Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die.
Here's a close-up:
And here's the purse and flower purse charm that Missy Shipman shared at our All-Day Fabric Class.
The possibilities are endless with the Big Shot die cutting machine and Stampin' Up! dies! Contact me today to get yours!

All-Day Fabric Class
Last Saturday, The Heartfelt Stampers Team and the From the Heart Stampers got together for an all-day event designed to create quilting projects using the Big Shot die cutting machine. We had so much fun and learned a ton! If you want to be included on these very special events, won't you consider joining our team? Most of us are based in New York State, but often times, our long distance members travel to join us. With the Sale-A-Bration special, it's a perfect time to take 15% off your starter kit and receive a free stamp set!
We began the morning beginning to work on quilt squares. Here's Jacki Wrubel with her beautiful creation!
Jen Rios-Raner had never sewn before and she did a fabulous job!
Here's a couple of squares I made. This one uses the 5-Petal 3D Star Bigz die.
This one uses the center oval from Frame, Oval Scallop Bigz die, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz die and Circles #2 Originals. Click HERE for finished quilts that these squares could be turned into.
We did some swapping, and since it was a fabric-based class, I decided to make these adorable bibs. I traced around a bib I alread had to get the pattern. With the boy bib, I cut the stars from the Stars #2 Originals die.
Here's a baby girl's version. The flower is cut with the Flower Bigz Clear die.
Aly Schilling brought this gorgeous swap. She made a pin cutting the fabric from circle dies with the Big Shot. And don't you just love her presentation! The button in the center is from the Stampin' Up! collection, and the hat pin and pearls are from the Pretties Kit.
Missy Shipman from Baldwinsville joined us in the afternoon to tell us what she learned while attending Jill Olsen's class at Founder's Circle.
We each made this darling purse charm!
Here's a close-up!
What a very fun and inspiring day! Would you like to learn more about how to quilt using the Big Shot? Just contact me, and I'll bring a private class to you and your friends!
