Totally Trees Congratulations

totallytreescongrats1

Today’s card features the gorgeous Totally Trees stamp set by Stampin’ Up! and the beautiful 12″ x 12″ designer paper pack from the Annual Catalog called Moroccan Designer Series Paper.  I created this special card to congratulate my team members on their achievements last month.  Of course, you could change the sentiment and send it for any occasion.

The Totally Trees stamp set offers such a wide variety of images that coordinate and that help you create a tree in any season!  Take a look:

totallytreesstampset

Here are some tips and tricks to help you recreate this card:

  • My color scheme came from the Moroccan Designer Series PaperCajun Craze, Emerald Envy, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla – oh, so pretty!
  • The Very Vanilla Lace Trim gives a sweet edge to the designer paper.  I adhered it to the DSP with Fast Fuse, then that unit to the card front.
  • I decided to offset the circles I created with the Layering Circles Framelits and the Big Shot.  Guess I was in a rebellious mood that day!
  • Our copper accents dress this pretty card up quite a bit – Copper Metallic Thread, Copper Foil Paper for the leaf cut with the Leaflets Framelits and Big Shot, and the sentiment embossed using Copper Embossing Powder.  (Stamp with VersaMark pad, sprinkle on embossing powder and heat set with Heat Tool.)

It’s a terrific time to stock up on the Moroccan Designer Paper, as well as lots of other beautiful designer papers!  But hurry – sale ends October 31st!

Watercolor Wings and Cottage Garden sentiments

WatercolorWings

I love this simple layout.  You could use it with just about any stamp set, but with the Watercolor Wings butterfly by Stampin’ Up!, the Daffodil Delight scalloped circle looks a bit like the sun.  Here are some details on my easy birthday card.

  • Colors are Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Sweet Sugarplum – so fun and cheery!
  • The butterfly is first offstamped in Sweet Sugarplum Ink, meaning that I inked up that bold background image, then stamped onto a scrap piece of paper, then onto my cardstock.  The overlay is full-strength Sweet Sugarplum Ink.  I added the butterfly body with Black Memento Ink.  While we do carry a framelit to cut out the butterfly, I chose to paper snip around the image so that I could include the body.
  • A good investment for your crafting supplies is the new Stampin’ Up! Layering Circles Framelits.  Not only can you create regular circles, but you can also create scallops – and both come in 8 different sizes, for a total of 16 dies!
  • Another great investment is the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack.  With 40 sheets, 4 of each of 2 double-sided designs in all of the new In Colors, you’ll be able to create lots and lots of cards and scrapbook pages with all of the colors on hand.
  • I love the little accents in the top right corner – they’re the White Perfect Accents, Sweet Sugarplum Enamel Circle and a small Rhinestone Jewel.
  • My sentiment again is from Cottage Greetings (I use this one all the time!).  If you don’t have this stamp set yet, please pick it up.   You won’t be sorry!  Lots of fun greetings for all of the occasions you love best.  In fact, here’s the same card using the “congrats” stamp.

WatercolorWings2

  • When adhering the butterfly, I used a strip of Dimensionals down the center so the wings were loose and look like they’re fluttering.

Affectionately Yours and Cottage Greetings

AffectionatelyYoursCottageGreetingsCongrats

  • I’m getting the hang of this Washi Tape thing!  I’m starting to realize how handy, quick and easy it is – think little strips of DSP with adhesive already applied.  And with the Affectionately Yours Designer Paper and coordinating Washi Tape, you can use both together.  I love Stampin’ Up!’s coordination of products!
  • My tag measures 1-1/2″ x 3″ and I’ve dovetailed the end using my Stampin’ Up! Triple Banner Punch.  It’s such a time-saving tool to have at your disposal!
  • To create the circle part at the top, I punched out a 1/2″ Night of Navy Cardstock Circle with my circle punch, adhered it to the tag with SNAIL Adhesive and then punched the center with the 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch.
  • The new Thick Baker’s Twine, now in 6 different colors, ties so nicely and gives your bow a little more substance.
  • You’re going to love the new 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon which comes in all of the five 2015-17 In Colors – so much so that you’ll want them all!  This one’s Cucumber Crush.
  • My layered butterflies are such a fun addition – to any card, really.  Just use the Elegant Butterfly Punch on a piece of Vellum Cardstock and the Bitty Butterfly Punch on Daffodil Delight Cardstock.  Fold their wings inward then adhere together with a Glue Dot.  A new Metallic Enamel Shape in Gold accents the center.

  • I’ve used Cottage Greetings stamp set because the font coordinates so nicely with the feel of the prints.  Feel free, of course, to use any sentiment.  I know my customers love creating birthday cards, so here is the same card for a birthday.

AffectionatelyYours

My Congrats cards go out each month to the five top salespeople on my From the Hearts Stampers team members.  It recognizes their accomplishments and gives them an idea for one of their own workshops or classes.

Suite Sayings and Playful Palette

Suite Sayings and Playful Palette

I’m lovin’ the new 2016-18 In Colors, and this pretty paper called Playful Palette represents 3 of the 5 new ones.  Suite Sayings is a stamp set that was introduced in the 2016 Occasions Catalog and carried over to the new 2016-17 Annual Catalog, and I’m so glad it did!  If you’re looking for a wonderful selection of really useful sentiments, this one’s for you!

The Top 5 people in sales on my From the Heart Stampers team received this card this month congratulating them on their sales in May.  I love surprising them with a hand-stamped card and a big congrats for a job well done!

  • The Playful Palette DSP has a Very Vanilla background which gives it a really interesting look.  In Colors represented here are Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach.  Also included are Pink Pirouette and Basic Black.
  • I tied the star theme in with two products.  First is the Stars Embossing Folder on the Peekaboo Peach carstock, and then there are the Gold Metallic Stars from the brand-new accessory Metallic Enamel Shapes.  These are going to be a huge hit!  You’ll receive 100 shapes:  50 each in gold and silver, with a variety of shapes and sizes.  They’ll be our new “go to” since Candy Dots have retired.  The Enamel Shapes come in the 2016-18 In Colors, as well as Brights, Regals and Subtles Collections.  All but the Metallic Shapes contain 200 shapes.

Friends & Flowers Fish

Friends Flowers fish 1

How fun is this card!  I set out to build a card that looked like a goldfish bowl showing of this cute and clever stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Friends & Flowers.  It takes a little figuring out what all the pieces in the set are for, but once you see the possibilities, you’ll just have to have this adorable set!  Here’s a beautiful flower card I created with this same stamp set – and they don’t look a bit the same.  I even used the same designer paper – Pretty Petals!  Click HERE to view it.

Friends & Flowers stamp set AND Pretty Petals Designer Paper are retiring AND I Think You’re Great stamp set is retiring, too – with 25% off the stamp set while supplies last.  Grab them while you can!

  • I began my card searching through my designer papers to see what could look like a watery background.  I found it in the unlikely pack Pretty Petals which you’d think would be all about flowers!  But I love that Stampin’ Up! designs the paper usually with a bolder print on one side and a more muted print on the other so you have optimal versatility.
  • I scalloped the top of the designer paper with a Circle Punch and adhered it directly to my Whisper White cardstock background.
  • Next I stamped the pieces I needed for the two fish using Whisper White Cardstock and Pumpkin Pie Ink.   Most of the pieces in the Friends & Flowers stamp set punch out with the coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch!  I assembled them and lightly traced the fins and tails with the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.  After all, they are goldfish!
  • I searched through my sentiments to find the perfect one for this card and came upon the fun speech bubble in I Think You’re Great stamp set.  It’s stamped on Whisper White Cardstock with VersaMark Ink then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool.  Paper Snips cut it out quickly.
  • Fish just need bubbles, right?!  Mine were created using all three sizes of White Perfect Accents.  They’re self-adhesive so went on with no fuss!
  • The fish got Pacific Point Candy Dots in the Brights Candy Dot Pack for eyes.  Candy Dots are all retiring – oh, my!!!  Be sure to add them to your order!
  • I rounded the bottom two corners to be more “bowl like” using the Corner Rounder Punch.
  • I wanted to create the pebbles on the bottom of a fish bowl, and since I had a little shimmer going on, I opted for Gold Foil punched out using the 1/2″ Circle Punch.  A few of the ones on top are adhered with Dimensionals to bring them to life.
  • Lining the envelope to coordinate with the card has become one of my favorite “accessorizing” techniques.  Use the Envelope Liner Framelits with the Big Shot and adhere inside the Whisper White Envelope flap.  And you’re not gonna believe this but the Envelope Liner Framelits are retiring!!!

Three for One Today – Happy Birthday, Congrats and Welcome

PerfectPairingsHappyDayFull

We’re now into Spring, but not so in Central New York!  It’s gloomy and 32 degrees out while I type this post.  But no matter what’s going on outside, I can find my “happy place” amidst Stampin’ Up!’s bright, fun colors.  And the beautiful It’s My Part Designer Series Paper has the perfect color scheme to brighten anyone’s day – Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and Basic Black.

And I’m trying to use our beautiful Sale-A-Bration products every day, since there are only a few days left of the best Stampin’ Up! sale of the year!  My sentiment comes from Perfect Pairings, a wonderful sentiment stamp set that you’ll be able to use time and time again.  Here’s another card I made using this great stamp set – click HERE.

My Stampin’ Up! team, the From the Heart Stampers, does a sketch challenge twice a month.  It’s a really fun way to see what everyone’s working on and to get some inspiration for a new design.  I always start my card designs with a sketch layout, so this is especially fun for me.  This is just one of the many perks for being a part of my team.  Here’s the sketch I was working from for my card design:

CASE of the Mondays #89

See how easy it is to create a fabulous card with a great sketch and some beautiful Stampin’ Up! supplies!

  • I cut the It’s My Party designer paper into different widths from 1/4″ to 3/4″.  It killed me to not keep them straight – I’m such a perfectionist – but I thought it actually looked better to be a little “off”.
  • The large flower is created using the Floral Frames Framelits with the Big Shot.  Circles are cut using the Circle Framelits.  Leaves and tiny Crushed Curry flower are cut using Flower Fair Framelits.  Yes, I do use my Framelits a lot!
  • There’s a little nest of Silver Thread between the flower and the Crushed Curry circle.  Just add some SNAIL Adhesive to the center of the flower, wad up a nice long piece of thread and stick it down into the adhesive.  Use Dimensionals to hold the circles on top.  Yes, this thread looks better “messy” too!  At first I wound it around my hand making it into nice, even loops, but it looked too forced.

PerfectPairingsHappyDayCloseup
And why stop there with this great layout!  I went on to create some congratulations and welcome cards for my team members.  First up is a fabulous “way to go” card, complete with stars and glimmer paper.

BravoWayToGoFull

  • The big star is cut with – you guessed it – the Stars Framelits.
  • The tiny silver star is a handheld punch in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and Silver Glimmer Paper.
  • “Way to Go” is one of the many celebratory stamps in the Bravo stamp set, found in the main Annual Catalog.  I stamped it once in Black Memento Ink then again on scrap paper in Melon Mambo ink and cut out the “to” banner, adhering it over the black stamping with Dimensionals.
  • Check out the sweet little Melon Mambo enamel dot from the It’s My Party collection!  Love that they have a self-adhesive backing.

  • BravoWayToGoCloseup

And my last version of this card went out to brand new team members who have joined my team this month.  In all, we’ve added quite a number of demonstrators, both hobbyists and business-builders, during Sale-A-Bration!  There are a few days left – won’t you consider joining our team?  During Sale-A-Bration, choose $155 of products and pay only $99 – an extra $30 in products during this sale only.  And your starter kit ships free, giving you an additional 10% savings!

I Think You’re Great with Cherries

I think youre great

The Stampin’ Up! Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack takes front and center on this card with this adorable cherry motif, as well as the Cucumber Crush grid banner.  And here’s the second card I’ve made using the I Think You’re Great stamp set – see my first one HERE.  It’s also the second time to pull out the Tin of Cards stamp set and use the fantabulous squiggle doodle stamp!  This may be the single greatest stamp ever produced!  Do you think I’m a bit excited about this little beauty?

  • I’m sure you’ve seen lots of card samples floating around using the Cherry on Top designer paper.  I’m here to tell you that you can get very different looks with this paper – not just the cute cupcake or balloon theme that are so easy to choose first.  And you can vary the color scheme too.  Here I’ve chosen to use just Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder with some Basic Black for a bold look.
  • I’ve used the Circles Framelits and Big Shot to create my two circles for this card – one is stamped and the other just in Basic Black Cardstock to create a border.
  • The White Perfect Accents are just that – perfect little additions to any card.  Here I used one of all three sizes – and they’re self-adhesive.
  • I’ve been lining almost all of my envelopes lately; with the gorgeous paper Stampin’ Up! has given us in this new catalog, it’s hard to resist not using it everywhere!  The Envelope Liner Framelits and Big Shot make it super easy to add this beautiful coordinating touch – and you only need a piece that’s 3″x6″.

Way to Go and I Think You’re Great

Way to Go

I’m just smitten with the I Think You’re Great stamp set by Stampin’ Up!, new to the 2015-16 Annual Catalog.  You’ll find lots and lots of uses for this set.  I’ll show you one today, and then I have an additional posting coming up using another stamp in the set.

  • My color scheme is from the Brights Collection with a pop of Basic Black and sparkle – Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Old Olive.
  • “Way to Go” is stamped in Pacific Point Ink and is cut out with my Paper Snips then popped up on Dimensionals.  I love how it’s sort of a reverse stamp – the background is colored in and the letters are left white.
  • The star is cut out with the Big Shot and Silver Glimmer Paper.  Love this touch!  AND check out the Weekly Deals – you can grab yourself some Silver Glimmer Paper on sale this week!
  • A Candy Dot Brad Base with a Pacific Point Candy Dot is a nice accent to the Basic Black Cardstock.
  • And another stamp set that is going to be a “must have” for this catalog is the Tin of Cards stamp set.  Of course, it coordinates with the Tin of Cards kit, but beyond that, you’re going to want these stamps for all of your cards.  The two row of “+’s” are created with a stamp in this set.  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to make sure they were lined up perfectly, even though I was working with a photopolymer stamp set.  I’m just no good at “eyeballing”!  And please remember to use Memento Black Ink with your photopolymer stamps!

Gifts for Hawaii

hawaii gift

I just realized that I didn’t show you the fun gift set I received for having earned the trip to Hawaii!  My daughter and upline created this gift ensemble for me – it’s it incredible how she matched the packaging when designing the card!  And it looks so Hawaiian – which I’m sure was her point!

  • The Summer Silhouettes stamp set really packs a punch!  There are so many ways to use this beautiful floral stamp set.  Here the flowers are stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut out with the Windows Framelits and Big Shot.  WARNING – the Window Framelits are only available for the next few days; they’re due to retire on June 2nd!
  • The fun sentiment comes from Bravo – a super nice, large photopolymer set containing lots and lots of congratulatory sayings.  Click HERE and HERE to see a couple of other ideas for this stamp set.  You can also use it for birthdays.
  • Flowers are stamped in Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride inks, with the leaves stamped with Garden Green ink.
  • A thin strip of Tempting Turquoise cardstock ties that color in.  The key ring has gold and so there is also a strip of Gold Foil Paper added to the card.

I know I’ll continue to use these thoughtful gifts and think of my trip to Hawaii for a very long time!

Bravo and Way to Go

BravoWaytoGo

There’s nothing like receiving some unexpected praise in the mail in the form of a hand-stamped card.  We all love to hear that we’ve done a good job, so be sure to pick up the Bravo stamp set by Stampin’ Up! for all your cards of congrats.  There are so many choices in this terrific set – 13 stamps in all!

  • My color scheme today is Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Smoky Slate – colors that are sure to say “wow”!
  • The Circle Framelits used with the Big Shot are one (actually two) of the best purchases you can make.  There are ten different size circles in this set for just $26.95 – an even better value than our great circle punches!  Plus, use them to build layers and frames, too.
  • My accents and embellishments kept with the fun theme.  I used Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine, Bermuda Bay Sequins and a Tangerine Tango Candy Dot.  One of the sequins was pulled off the strip and attached separately to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
