Here’s to Cheers Treats with Recipe

herestocheersgoodies

I completely forgot to show you this fun treat idea.  It uses the Here’s to Cheers stamp set and coordinating Cheerful Tags Framelits Dies.  These little treats were perfect for everyone attending my classes in person during December and also for neighbor gifts.  But you don’t have to wait until next Christmas to use this wonderful Holiday Catalog combo!  Change up the sentiment and colors and you have a perfect Valentines Day or Easter treat!  Today, January 3rd, is the final day to purchase from the Year-End Sale and from items retiring from the Stampin’ Up! 2016 Holiday Catalog.  The Bundle & Save 10% off price is only good today!

  • I used the Stampin’ Up! 4″x6″ Cello Bags to package the nuts in.  They worked perfectly!
  • Cello Bags are tied off beautifully with the 3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon.
  • A sweet heart created with Red Glimmer Paper gives this tag a little bling.

As an added bonus, I’m giving you my favorite recipe for Sugar and Spice Pecans.  I make them every holiday season, but really, why not all year!

3/4 c. sugar

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. cloves

1/4 tsp. allspice

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/4 tsp. salt

1 egg white

2-1/2 Tblsp. cold water

8 c. pecan halves

Mix dry ingredients together.  Add egg white and water and mix well.  Add pecans and coat thoroughly.  Bake at 275 degrees for 50 minutes on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.  Remove immediately and cool thoroughly.  Store in an airtight container.  Enjoy!

Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit

OhWhatFunTags

My No. 1 pick of the Stampin’ Up! 2015  Holiday Catalog is hands down the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit!  As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, almost all of my stamping is business related, and I seldom make anything that isn’t for a blog post or a class.  But the first time looking through the Holiday Catalog, I knew I wanted to make these adorable tags “just because”!  This picture is only a sampling of what you’ll be able to make.  There are 30 tags, 3 each of 10 different designs!

Purchase the Tag Project Kit and coordinating Oh, What Fun stamp set, and then all you need is some adhesive and stamp pads.  Everything is pre-cut and the kit includes really fun accessories like silver foil pieces, dotted lace trim, sequins, pressed wood gold glittered snowflakes, small gold bows and even jingle bells!

Use these tags as, of course, tags for your Christmas packages, but you can also use them as the fronts of your Christmas cards or for other packaging ideas.  Here’s a fun treat package I made for some of my class participants.  Inside is a cookie.

Holly Jolly Greetings and HUGE Stampin’ Up! Sale Begins!

Holly Jolly Greetings

It’s so funny how a card evolves. I had the idea for this card to be all Very Vanilla and Gold.  But I started working with different things, and somehow some pretty Lost Lagoon color just sneaked in!  Here’s yet another stamp/framelits coordinated bundle in the Stampin’ Up! 2015 Holiday CatalogHolly Jolly Greetings stamp set and Christmas Greetings Thinlits.  There are so many possibilities with these two products!

  • This designer paper is the very beautiful Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack found on pg. 23 of the Holiday Catalog.  I point out the page number because you’ve probably gone past it and not given it much thought.  This is a must have this season – such a gorgeous selection of papers to work with, and the stack is 6″ x 6″ with 12 different designs.  I’ve used two of the gold designs here.
  • The card base, the snowflake and the 1/8″ strip of cardstock are all Lost Lagoon in color.  Using just two colors – the blue and the gold – keeps this card look quite elegant.
  • “Merry” is cut from Gold Glimmer Paper and the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.  You’ll want to pick up the newest member of the Stampin’ Up! adhesives – the Fine-Tip Glue Pen – to make it super simple to adhere the skinny sentiment to your card.
  • The center of the snowflake is adorned with a Gold Button tied with Gold Baker’s Twine.  Having trouble getting that twine through the button centers?  I just tied the twine in a bow and adhered it to the button with a Glue Dot.  Much easier on these old eyes!

Peaceful Pines Christmas card

Peaceful Pines

Stampin’ Up! has given us so many wonderfully bundles with coordinating stamp sets and framelits for the Big Shot.  And Peaceful Pines stamp set and Perfect Pines Framelits has to be one of my favorites in this year’s 2015 Holiday Catalog.  There are so many different uses for the tree images with really lovely coordinating images and five different sentiments.

We’re always looking for Christmas cards that we can mass produce, and this one is quick and easy with lots of interest.

  • I started with an Old Olive Cardstock card base and wrapped some Linen Thread around the spine three times, tying in a bow.
  • The Whisper White Cardstock has two strips of Season of Cheer Designer Washi Tape at the bottom.  There is a TON of tape per roll, and you’ll receive 5 different colors in this grouping.
  • Corner rounding a couple of the corners really adds interest and is super quick and easy with the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Corner Punch.
  • Next comes some Burlap Ribbon that’s been trimmed down both edges and frayed a little.  On top of that is a piece of Early Espresso Cotton Ribbon.  Use Fast Fuse to adhere both of these pretty trims to your card.
  • The tree is stamped in Old Olive ink, cut out with the Perfect Pines Framelits and adhered with Dimensionals.  I did the same with the tree stand with Early Espresso ink.  The star on top is using the same framelits set (see, I told you there were tons of fun pieces!) and cutting out Gold Glimmer Paper.

And you’re done – super quick and still really interesting!

Let it Snow!

Let It Snow

I don’t know what could be sweeter than penguins for a winter card!   Snow Place stamp set with coordinating Snow Friends Framelits by Stampin’ Up! are just the ticket for lots of cute winter cards, with lots of fun sentiments that will take you through the long season (at least long here in Central New York!).

  • Two of my favorite Stampin’ Up! blues that coordinate beautifully are Soft Sky in the Subtles Collection and Lost Lagoon, one of the 2014-16 In Colors.  Add some neutrals white and black and you’re good to go!
  • One Stampin’ Up! product that is a super deal and will get you a ton of choices are the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks.  There are 4 fresh prints to choose from in all of the colors of the collection of your choice.  Here I’ve chosen the Soft Sky polka dot in the Subtles Collection packet.
  • New to the 2015 Holiday Catalog is the Curvy Corner Punch.  You’re able to create three different types of punches with this one handy punch.  Here I’ve used it for the two top corners of the Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Let it Snow closeup

  • Our sweet accent on this card is a combination of Snowflake Element, an Iced Rhinestone Embellishment and pieces of 1-1/4″ White Jute Ribbon.  Use Fast Fuse to adhere the Ribbon to the Glimmer Paper.
  • I’ve added a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper Circle to hold the pretty embellishment motif.
  • Rhinestones were added to complete the stamped snowflakes.

Reason for the Season

Reason for the Season

One thing I’ve always loved about how Stampin’ Up! designs their stamp sets is the 2-step stamping technique.  I love that they’ve made it so easy to look like a pro!  And the Reason for the Season is just such a stamp set.  In fact, it’s 4-step stamping!

  • I first stamped the poinsettia using the outline stamp and Memento Black Ink.  This is the ink of choice with the photopolymer stamp sets!
  • Next I inked up the stamp that colored in the flower petals with a Cherry Cobbler stamp pad.  The stamp is designed to look like you watercolored the image, so it’s not completely filled in.
  • I used the leaf stamp with Pear Pizzazz ink, and finally, there is a center stamp, but I decided to dress up the middle with 3 Silver Brads instead.
  • The image is cut out using the Big Shot and a Circles Framelit.
  • You’ll love this designer paper called Season of Cheer – so many fun patters to choose from depending on you stamps!

Here’s a look at all the pretty prints:

Season of Cheer DSP

  • The 1-1/4″ Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain Ribbon is just begging to be used for the holidays!  I layered on some 1/8″ Silver Ribbon, too, to tie in the Silver Brads.
  • There are three different sentiments in the Reason for the Season stamp set, making it so very useful.

Here’s a look at all the images you’ll receive with this stamp set.  You’ll also see that there’s a coordinating punch for this set, too.  There are three stamps that will stamp designs on the leaves and flower petals that will then punch out with the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  Use this versatile stamp set either way!

reason for the season stamp set

If you haven’t already begun, now’s the time to start your Christmas cards, and this card is the perfect one to CASE for a card that’s easy to make multiples!

Wow, has the time ever flown!  The Stampin’ Up! 2014/15 Holiday Catalog came out on August 28th, and it’s time to say goodbye!  On January 5th, most products will be gone forever (with a few carrying over).  That must say something about how busy my life has been during this period of time.  We moved in mid-August, and we’re still not quite settled in.  There’s so much to do to a new place!  In September, I was privileged to be a part of a very exclusive card swap with the amazing women on the Founders Circle, Stampin’ Up!’s Top 100 in the US and Top 20 in Canada.  I received over 100 beautiful samples of products from the Holiday Catalog.  Sadly, I didn’t have time to use them to the fullest, but this the last day of the catalog, I wanted to share some of my favorites with you.  Why not place a last-minute order and get some of these great products for next year!
