Wonderful Wreath and Happy Birthday Everyone
This card came from an idea I had about the Wonderful Wreath Framelits by Stampin’ Up! I wanted to use the pieces to this framelits set to create a summer wreath for a special birthday card.
- The colors I chose are Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Night of Navy and Old Olive. They’re the colors in the English Garden Designer Paper, minus a couple, but worked really well for the wreath.
- I started by cutting out the wreath base using Old Olive Cardstock with the two wreath framelits – both the inside and the outside pieces. This allows some of the green to peek through so that you don’t have to cut out extra leaves. Here’s a photo of how the wreath begins:
- Cutting out all of the flowers is a breeze with the Framelits. I doubled the cardstock, cutting two at a time, and the framelits cut through both layers nicely. “Scrunching” the cardstock flowers made them a bit more three dimensional.
- The centers of the flowers are created with the 1/4″ Circle Handheld Punch; use a 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere them all.
- A pretty Night of Navy 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon is the perfect accent to the wreath, held in place with a Glue Dot.
- My sentiment comes from a host-exclusive stamp set called Happy Birthday, Everyone. Here’s another card using this great set. Choose this stamp set as a free gift when you order a minimum of $150 in products in my Online Store (before tax/shipping).
- And inside the card, I used the “happy birthday” sentiment from the same set stamped in Night of Navy Ink – such a pretty combination of fonts!
And coming your way soon – 201-16 Holiday Catalog shares! I know how much everyone loves to get shares for designer papers, ribbons and accessories once a new catalog begins. The Holiday Catalog is just around the corner – due to launch to my customers on September 1st! I’ll be taking reservations soon for all three types of shares – or get an “I want it all” share with all three.

Mother’s Day and Mother’s Love
Mother’s Day is just around the corner – a few short days away – but we celebrated Mother’s Day last Saturday night by going out to dinner with our whole family to one of our favorite restaurants. I made this card for my lovely daughter and daughter-in-law, and while each mom has her own “style”, both of them are the best moms to my beautiful grandchildren!
- The 2014 Annual Catalog is nearing an end, and with it goes all of our gorgeous Stampin’ Up! designer series paper, like this one called Flowerpot. I’ll see if I can use a bit up and show you more things to do with your scraps before the end of the catalog on June 2nd!
- You know how I like circles – I think I use them on just about every card! And this one is all about circles cut with the Circles Framelits and the Big Shot. Stampin’ Up! does all the work for us by giving us beautifully coordinated pieces. All you need to do is cut a bunch of different sizes and arrange them artfully on your cardstock. The top left circle is simply Not Quite Navy cardstock run through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder just to give it another look.
- Don’t forget to use lots of Dimensionals – the different heights are essential to make this card really interesting!
- “Best mother ever” comes from And Many More stamp set – a great staple with 23 greeting stamps for all occasions.
- Make the sweet flower accent using the Flower Frenzy Bigz Die and the Big Shot. This die is retiring and available only while supplies last AND it’s 50% off!!!! Price is marked down from $37.95 to $18.98!!!
- And Stampin’ Up! always has just the right accent! A Garden Green Candy Dot from the Regals Collection is all you need to set off this pretty flower.
- Don’t forget to line your envelope with this pretty paper – the Envelope Liner Framelits and the Big Shot make it so quick and easy!

Valentine’s Day Treat Fry Boxes
If you’re looking for a fun Valentine’s Day project, I’ve just completed lots of these. They went together quickly and were easy using the Stampin’ Up! Fry Box Die and Big Shot. Dress them up any way you like! I used Pink Pirouette cardstock; you can get two boxes out of an 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper.
- The Silver Glimmer Paper was punched out with the 2-1/2″ Punch, and you could also use the Circle Framelits.
- The sweet red heart is from a new baby stamp set in the Occasions Catalog called Little Sunshine. I love when I can get multiple uses for my stamps! The Sweetheart Punch lines up perfectly to cut the heart out.
- The Heart Border Punch is great for a tiny heart like the little black one on my project. I used a Mini Silver Brad to set it off.
- “Happy Valentine’s Day” comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes, still one of my favorite stamp sets!
- Of course, I had to bring my container to the grocery store to get matching candies! I found Valentine’s Day peanut M&M’s in the bulk department and filled the Stampin’ Up! 4″x6″ Cello Bags with them, then tied them up using Real Red Cotton Ribbon and some 1/8″ Silver Ribbon.
I love seeing a whole finished collection of these sweet containers. They look so pretty!

Heaven Knows
Here's a quick and easy card that gets its "wow" factor from a simple sponging techinque. I created a mask by using a piece of typing paper run through the Big Shot with the largest of the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. It's pictured below after I've used it.
I simply laid the mask over top of my Whisper White cardstock and used a Soft Sky stamp pad and a Sponge to sponge color inside the mask. Keeping the mask in place, I stamped the flower from Fabulous Florets stamp set in StazOn Ink within the frame. When I removed the mask, I had this pretty main image created.
I loved the sentiment from Blessings from Heaven stamp set to coordinate with this card. It could be used for so many different purposes – friendship, encouragement, birthday or just thinking about someone.
And be prepared to see LOTS of lined envelopes in my posts! I'm totally hooked on the Envelope Liners Framelits. It's so quick to coordinate your card and envelope for that added polish! The various Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks found on pg. 152 of the Annual Catalog are the perfect purchase. Here I used the Subtles Collection to coordinate the Soft Sky paper in the envelope with the ink used on the card.

NEW Thinlits Card Dies
I had a few minutes today to play with the new Thinlits Card Dies – wow, they are so much fun and so addicting! I know you'll be seeing lots of these cards in the future! And you can't believe how easy this card was to make with the help of the Thinlits! You can left click on any of the photos for a better look.
- My card starts out with a Sahara Sand cardstock base. Just use the Thinlits Card Die with the Big Shot, and the base is cut out and scored for you in one step.
- The Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper was easy to cut exactly to the front left of the card – I just used the Thinlits Card Die again with the edge of the designer paper at the fold of the card.
- The Chocolate Chip cardstock circles are cut with the Circles Collection Framelits, and the Whisper White cardstock scallop circle was cut with a piece from the Thinlits Card Dies – you get 9 additional dies (ten in all) included in the die collection.
-
The Magnificent Maple single stamp is one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalog. Here I've inked up the stamp in Crushed Curry ink, then used a Sponge Dauber and Pumpkin Pie ink to dab the edges of the rubber stamp before stamping on the paper.
Here is the card opened up:
- Both sentiments come from Lots of Thanks stamp set – a must have! Speckles on the inner circle are created with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set – another must have! Both of these sets will serve your cardmaking well for a very long time.
- Did you notice I was able to emboss the upper right side of the card base? I just slid in my Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder sideways and under the cut portion of the inside circle. Worked just fine!
- The only little accessory needed is a Chocolate Chip Candy Dot set in a Candy Dot Base. There's already plenty going on!

Bye-bye Sale-A-Bration!
This is the last day of Sale-A-Bration! This terrific sale ends at Midnight Mountain Time – but don't wait too late! The online ordering system could potentially get bogged down towards the end.
I want to leave you with my last Sale-A-Bration project using some of the yummy designer paper found in the Sycamore Street paper pack and a pretty Rich Razzleberry button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack. I love how this page turned out and plan to use it for photos of my little granddaughter Quinn. She brings such sunshine into my life!
Here's a close-up of the "flower garden". I've used the Blossom Punch for the left and right flowers and the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch for the center. The leaves are created with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. I just ran my Bone Folder down the center and popped them up a little. Centers are created with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch and the 3/4" Circle Punch with Daffodil Delight card stock. The two larger flowers have Silver Basics Designer Buttons and Rich Razzleberry Ribbon through the centers, while the smaller uses the Sale-A-Bration button with White Baker's Twine tied in a pretty bow. And of course I had to use my favorite scrapbooking tool – the Tasteful Trim Bigz Die – to create the white rick-rack.
The sun is created with the Daydream Medallions stamp set, stamped tone-on-tone with Daffodil Delight and cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits and the Big Shot. Love the coordination of these two products! Click HERE to see some other projects using this versatile stamp set and framelits. The center is a fun sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness stamped in Basic Gray ink and punched out with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.

Christmas Tag Duo
Day #3 of the Online Extravaganza – have you ordered your favorites yet? Click HERE to see what's on sale!
The Two Tags Bigz Die is one of my favorites – it's so versatile! Here I've used both tags on the die to create two simple Christmas Tags.
- This first tag opens to reveal a place for you to write a note.
- I've used Cherry Cobbler ink with the Make a Mitten stamp set for the images at the top.
- Merry Christmas sentiment is from Chock-Full of Cheer stamp set
- Linen Thread adds some charm to the tag, and Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon ties the top – use it to hang on your tree!
- I've made a pretty accent for this tag by punching Candlelight Christmas designer paper with the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, then scrunching them together and using a brad to secure the middle
- "To" and "From" is stamped from Chock-Full of Cheer in Early Espresso ink.
