Floral Wings and Bold Butterflies Framelits
No one does coordination better than Stampin’ Up! and today’s card is no exception! Floral Wings stamp set is a photopolymer host-exclusive set in the Annual Catalog and has uber coordination factor in the various pieces of this two-step stamp set. And Bold Butterflies Framelits along with the Big Shot will cut that sweet butterfly out just perfectly.
- I’ve grabbed a palette of 2015-17 In Colors again, using Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Tip Top Taupe. Gosh, will I ever get tired of these gorgeous colors?
- Be sure to purchase a package of the 2015-17 In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks. You’ll receive 40 sheets total, 4 each of 2 double-sided designs in the 5 new In Colors. I’m tellin’ ya – you’ll be using this paper on every project!
- The Gold Metallic Doily was the perfect backdrop to my butterfly, but because this is a gate-fold card, I needed that piece to be a little more substantial, so I cut a Delightful Dijon cardstock circle from my Circle Framelits and adhered them together.
- You can see that this cards folds in half in the center, and the circle motif is what keeps the card together. Just cut your cardstock base at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ like usual, but then score it at 2-1/8″ and 6-3/8″. I used my ScorePal for quick scoring.
- You’ll want a strong adhesive to adhere half of the circle to the front of the card. The new Tear & Tape Adhesive works perfectly for this job! I also used it down the center of the butterfly body to adhere it to the Gold Doily, allowing the wings be free.
- And here’s the inside of my card. Some stamping on a Whisper White cardstock liner is another great coordinating element.
Any questions about the gate card fold? I’d love to hear from you – just leave me a comment!

Happy Birthday with Cottage Greetings and a Cherry on Top
Sprinkles of Life is the Ronald McDonald charity stamp set this year – Stampin’ Up! will donate $3 to this worthy organization for each of these stamp sets purchased. Buy this great set AND support this cause – a great combination!
I love the coordination of the Sprinkles of Life stamp set with the Cherry on Top designer paper. In fact, I had a hard time deciding which papers to use with my card – they all looked great! So here are a few other samples with different papers for the center strip.
- Another star of the show is the Cottage Greetings stamp set. This great set was designed to go with the Cottage Greetings Card Kit (which I’ll show you another day), but of course, you can always use the stamp set with other cards. I just love the whimsical font!
- You’ll want to grab the Tree Builder Punch that also coordinates with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. This will enable you to punch out many of the images in the stamp set. I’ve popped up the cupcake top with Dimensionals after punching it out, as well as the cherry on top of the cupcake.
- Stampin’ Up! is now carrying a banner punch so that you’ll never have to figure out how to cut your banner ends evenly again. It’s called the Banner Triple Punch and is designed to punch three different width of strips, but really any size strip will work. It’s a must for quick, neat banners.
- Another greatly used punch in my stash is the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch. It was designed to be just the right “swoop” for your Project Life cards and photos, but it works perfectly for your cards, too. Just rounding one corner and placing the background Whisper White Cardstock over to the far left rather than centered gives this card a fresh look.
- Place your cupcake on a Crushed Curry Cardstock circle using the Circle Framelits and Big Shot.
- Don’t forget to add a little sparkle to your cupcake. I used a 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the cupcake top. And for the shiny 3D finish on the cherry, just add a little dab of Crystal Effects. Be sure to let it dry – it takes a little time.

I Think You’re Great with Cherries
The Stampin’ Up! Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack takes front and center on this card with this adorable cherry motif, as well as the Cucumber Crush grid banner. And here’s the second card I’ve made using the I Think You’re Great stamp set – see my first one HERE. It’s also the second time to pull out the Tin of Cards stamp set and use the fantabulous squiggle doodle stamp! This may be the single greatest stamp ever produced! Do you think I’m a bit excited about this little beauty?
- I’m sure you’ve seen lots of card samples floating around using the Cherry on Top designer paper. I’m here to tell you that you can get very different looks with this paper – not just the cute cupcake or balloon theme that are so easy to choose first. And you can vary the color scheme too. Here I’ve chosen to use just Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder with some Basic Black for a bold look.
- I’ve used the Circles Framelits and Big Shot to create my two circles for this card – one is stamped and the other just in Basic Black Cardstock to create a border.
- The White Perfect Accents are just that – perfect little additions to any card. Here I used one of all three sizes – and they’re self-adhesive.
- I’ve been lining almost all of my envelopes lately; with the gorgeous paper Stampin’ Up! has given us in this new catalog, it’s hard to resist not using it everywhere! The Envelope Liner Framelits and Big Shot make it super easy to add this beautiful coordinating touch – and you only need a piece that’s 3″x6″.
