Beautiful Baroque
Thought I'd try out a little bit different layout with this card using the Beautifully Baroque single stamp and coordinating Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper. It's different for me because I don't often think in triangles for my cards. I simply cut a rectangular piece of paper then cut it in half from corner to corner. Be careful when doing this because I found that you might not get the side of the paper you wanted – you have to think ahead before you cut as to which way you cut the triangles out.
Sometimes a design really needs a square card format. And now with the new Envelope Punch Board, you can make any size envelope to coordinate with your "odd-sized" card. No longer do you have to worry about how you're going to send your square card – you can create a coordinating envelope that's just the right size! In this case, my card measures 5"x5", so I just looked at the sizing on the board for how to cut and score my cardstock for the envelope size required. Here's a photo of how easy it is to create the perfect sized envelope:
- Color scheme is taken loosely from the beautiful Eastern Elegance designer paper; I changed it just a touch – Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate and Whisper White. The paper has Coastal Cabana instead of Bermuda Bay, but I wanted my card to be a little brighter.
- I borrowed the sentiment from Blooming with Kindness stamp set. This is a great one to fit into a circular area.
- I added a flower punched from Boho Blossoms Punch and a Large Rhinestone for some bling.
- Pretty simple, but I think it still works as an interesting card. It would be pretty in lots of different color schemes. Try the layout and let me know what you think by posting a comment!
