Argh, it’s a Valentine’s Treasure

Valentine Treasure

The Hey Valentine stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is so cute!  Four fun images are this set.  If you missed it, I posted another card using a different image from this set HERE.

  • This set is all about coloring, and Stampin’ Up! has so many ways to color in images.  I really like the effect I get with an Aqua Painter and my stamp pads; I find I can control the shading the way I want it.  And since I already have the stamp pads for stamping images, it gives dual purpose to purchasing them.
  • I used the Heart Framelits to create my card.  The largest framelit cuts out the scalloped heart, while the second to the largest cuts out the card base.  Just fold a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in half and place the framelit with just a little of the fold below the framelit edge.  When you run it through the Big Shot, then the top will stay uncut and you’ll be able to have a heart-shaped card.
  • Since this makes an “odd-sized” card, I used my Envelope Punch Board to create a custom-sized envelope.  Just measure the size of your card and follow the sizing chart printed on the Punch Board.  Couldn’t be easier!

  • Did you notice my little embellishments?  I used a strand of Pearls over the stamped pearls in the treasure chest, and the coins and buckles are colored in with Gold Encore Ink.
  • The three little hearts come from You Plus Me stamp set.
