Silly Get Well Wishes

This little stamp set is just wonderful for all sorts of different get well wishes! It's called Wellness Wishes and there are three great stamps to choose from. I started off with a base of Real Red card stock, then ran a piece of 4"x5-1/4" card stock through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Newsprint Designer Series Paper is a must from this catalog! I use it for so many looks! Here it's riding under a piece of Real Red 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon that's been tied with some Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. I used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut out both the Whisper White and Basic Black card stocks for the main image and used Stampin' Write markers in Real Red and Basic Black to color. A Real Red Button from the Brights Designer Button pack adds some more interest.

Subtles Collection Card and MDS Color Update

Here's a card designed by Phyl Lyons highlighting the new Subtles Collection colors. Don't they look gorgeous! It really shows you how much in need of an update these colors were! From left to right the new Subtles Collection incudes: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze and Marina Mist. Phyl showcased this great collection on a background using Early Espresso card stock (new to the Neutrals Collection palette) and the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Team Time Project and Ribbon Roses

I shared a couple of my projects using ribbon roses HERE and HERE and was asked to teach my team mates how to make them. Because we have a short amount of time and the rose itself takes a bit of time, I wanted to keep the stamping to a minimum. I grabbed the chance to use Watercolor Trio again to coordinate with the flower theme. The background–again–is the new Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (I'll try to stop–really I will!) and on Pink Pirouette card stock! Yes, Pink Pirouette is making its return (round of applause, please!) on July 1st to join the new Color Collection called the Subtles Collection. I love it paired with Real Red and Old Olive here. The main image is stamped on Whisper White card stock cut with the Top Note Die and Big Shot, but I trimmed away about 1" off one side. I stamped each image once then moved the stamp slightly to one side without reinking it and stamped again. This creates depth for the flower scene.

Item No. 117050 Watercolor Trio wood mount $22.95 OR
Item No. 120084 Watercolor Trio clear mount $16.95
Item No. 117285 Real Red 5/8" Satin Ribbon $8.95
Item No. 117292 Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon $8.95

Tall Tales and Animal Stories

I know I promised you scrapbook pages this month, and what do I do? Yet another card! I was getting ready for our Heartfelt Stampers once a month Team Time tomorrow night, and I was really in the card-making zone! Do you remember when this stamp set Animal Stories and coordinating Tall Tales Designer Series Paper came out, and that's all you saw everyone using? Well, my 3-year-old grandson wanted to make a card yesterday, and this is his "go to" stamp set. It happened to be still on my crafting table, and I haven't used the designer paper in months, so here we go!
We sure do go in waves with what we use to craft with, don't we? I hope I can stop using the new Square Lattice Impressions Embossing Folder for great backgrounds sometime in the future! Right now, I grab it for every single card! My color scheme is taken from the designer paper — So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Rose Red and Brilliant Blue. I stamped the giraffe from Animal Stories in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and mounted it with Dimensionals. The little "4 you" sentiment is from Tiny Tags and is stamped in Rose Red Classic Ink, punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and backed with the 1" Circle Punch with Old Olive card stock then slipped underneath the main image. I used my new Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack from the Summer Mini Catalog to create the three tiny flowers and added Gold Brads to the centers of each.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 116716 Animal Stories $15.95
Item No. 115678 Tall Tales DSP $9.95

Watercolor Trio Thank You
I took some time today to play with some new toys from the Summer Mini Catalog.

The color I'm going to miss the most with the Color Renovation is Cameo Coral. Not sure what I'm going to do without it! I thought I'd use it as the focal point of this card maybe for the last time! And what better way to really show it up than to run it through the Big Shot using the brand new Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. These fabulous folders have become my favorite product to use with the Big Shot — the impressions are nice and deep and don't flatten out when applying adhesive to the back of the card stock. While I had my Big Shot out, I quickly made a cute little textured butterfly with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die. What could be better than a texture folder? Having a folder that creates texture AND punches out the image all in one crank of the handle! I used the Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die to cut out some Confetti White card stock for the main image, and my Circle Scissors Plus to cut a perfect circle to back it with. Don't think I could make a card anymore without my Big Shot!
I'm also highlighting a new stamp set — Watercolor Trio. I stamped one of the images in Cameo Coral Classic Ink and one in Old Olive Classic Ink. Watercoloring has never been easier; the stamps are designed so that all you have to do is just stamp the image. I did off-stamp each of the images for a shadow effect. Just stamp the first image and then without reinking your stamp, move it just a smidge to one side and stamp again. The seniment "Thanks so much" also comes in the stamp set; I just love the beautiful font! I used some Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon and a Tempting Turquoise button from Playground Designer Buttons packet to finish off the bottom edge.
FYI: Retiring colors are already selling out, so you'll want to be sure to place your order for card stock and reinkers in your favorite Stampin' Up! colors right away! Just call me at 585-554-4479, email me at krisshuels@gmail.com or simply go online HERE and place your own order 24/7.
