February Stamp Shoppe
- We're opening ONE HOUR EARLIER on Friday Nights, kicking off the fun at 5:30 pm! Don't worry — you're still able to arrive at 6:30 or later if that's what you're used to. In fact, we're hoping some of you still stick to your normal arrival time. But for those of you who are able and wanting to get an earlier start on the evening, we invite you to do so! The extra hour is to help spread out arrivals to keep things comfortable for everyone as our numbers increase.
- Our Display Table of the Month is being replaced with TWO, 10-minute product demos during each session! Rather than just browsing projects, you'll get to see firsthand how to make a couple of them and learn how to use some products that haven't been incorporated in Shoppe projects!
- One of the enhancements I'm MOST excited about is the ALL NEW "First Timer's Room"! Anyone who is attending Shoppe for the first time* will make a bonus project, learn some basics and receive a "Getting Started Guide" to go along with a "Simple Stamping" display! If you bring a new guest, you'll still make DOUBLE the cards for bringing them**, so be sure to invite and bring a friend in the New Year!
*The pass to the "First Timer's Room" is given on the first full-price class you attend. If you are attending Stamp Shoppe on a coupon or free class pass, you'll be able to participate in the "First Timer's Room" the next time you visit.
The fun just keeps on coming at The Stamp Shoppe!

Scrapbooking with Flirtatious

Here's a 12" x 12" scrapbook page of my darling granddaughter, Quinn, using the Flirtatious Product Suite. I love that all the coordination is done for us with these beautiful products! The color combo is definitely "girly" – Wisteria Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight. I started with Wisteria Wonder 12"x12" card stock, stamped tone on tone with the Hello, Doily background stamp. At the bottom I added rows of designer paper from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. The strip of Daffodil Delight designer paper is punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch and some 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon is threaded through. I stamped three of the images from Delicate Doilies stamp set and punched them out with various circle punches. The top one is backed by a Pumpkin Pie doily found in the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper. All have Basic Rhinestone Jewels in the center. I added some Bitty Buttons backed with card stock punched from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to give the clear buttons color. The various words come from Fabulous Phrases stamp set. The caption underneath the picture is computer generated onto Whisper White card stock, then punched out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch. In the top right corner of the picture I added Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon layered on top with some Melon Mambo 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon. They're held in place with a Whisper White 5/8" Jumbo Brad that's topped off with a Rhinestone.

Landon’s Scrapbook Pages
Did I really say I was going to post scrapbook pages throughout the month of May for National Scrapbooking Month? Well, today is the 27th and I've yet to post any! Better late than never, they say!
Good scrapbook pages start with good photos, and I was really fortunate to get these wonderful pictures of my grandson Landon's first birthday. (That's my handsome husband with Landon.) His birthday was a Sesame Street theme, so I took the opportunity to do a little punch art and create all the Sesame Street characters. I had a ball creating these pages which are designed to fit side by side in my album.

The first page highlights using the Big Shot die-cut machine along with Alphabet Simple Letters dies. The Big Shot and alphabet dies are a must for scrapbookers! You'll never run out of the letters you need to create fun titles for your all pages. All of the bases of the Sesame Street characters began with the larger image on the Scallop Circle #2 die. To make smaller characters, use the smallest image on that die or the Scallop Circle Punch. To add some interest to the background, I punched several pieces of Summer Sun card stock with the Scallop Circle Punch and adhered them randomly, creating a "sunny" effect. Adhering them on top of the textured card stock of the same color really gives this page a pop. The color scheme is Summer Sun, Garden Green, Ballet Blue and Real Red. Summer Sun and Ballet Blue will be retiring soon and are only available while supplies last.
Don't forget to journal on your scrapbook pages! You may think you'll never forget a special event, but you will! And future generations to come will be so thankful that you took the time to tell them your story!

Winter Scrapbooking Class
Friday January 22nd
6:30PM – 9:30PM
at 67 Covington Rd., Rochester, NY
Registration Deadline: January 4th
I'm so pleased to begin offering my customers a scrapbooking class! We'll meet monthly — the first session will be Friday, January 22nd, from 6:30PM to 9PM at 67 Covington Rd., Rochester. Then beginning in February, we'll meet on the 2nd Friday of each month. You can mark your calendars well in advance and not miss out!
Each Scrapbooking Class will have a theme, and you'll complete 2, 2-page 12"x12" layouts – 4 pages total. Our first Scrapbooking Class is a winter theme. Create elegant pages for winter photos — either vintage or modern.
In addition, each Scrapbooking Class fee will include a Stampin' Up! Product Base — whatever you don't use on the layouts that you create that evening you take home and make MORE layouts to coordinate!
Here's a look at just one of the layouts we'll create (these pages are designed to go side-by-side so the second page doesn't have a title) Just as an aside, scrapbook photos are very difficult to photograph. The photos just don't do these layouts justice!

You don't need to bring any photos with you to the scrapbooking classes, the pages are designed so that you can add those later, once you find the perfect photo! NOTE: Any scrapbook page transforms once photos are added.
The product base for this class is 1/2 package of Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper (6 sheets total) and 1 full package of Snowflake Printed Window Sheets (2 sheets total). Here's a look at those products ($15.34 value):

Registration deadline is January 4th. The Window Sheets are from the Holiday Mini Catalog and cannot be ordered past that date.
The cost of this class is $18 and includes the product base items and all other supplies needed.
Interested in coming to class but would prefer a different location? Just contact me and I may be able to offer an additional time slot.
You must register and pre-pay for this class by January 3rd so that supplies may be ordered. Send you check in the amount of $18 payable to "Kriss Huels", 5225 Knapp Road, Middlesex, NY 14507, or pay online and secure by clicking on the button below ($1 PayPal fee included).
My first My Digital Studio pages!
I’ve been so busy with my new blog design that I haven’t had a chance to play with our new design software. My Digital Studio ROCKS! It’s so much fun, I didn’t go to bed until after 1:00PM. Anyway, thought I’d share just a couple of pages from the photo album I’m working on. It’s, of course, of my brand new grandson, Landon.
This will be the album cover. You can choose Linen, Leather or a hard cover like a book and then have a picture put on it! Isn’t that cool? I think I might change the font of the writing to be a bit bolder, but you get the idea.

This is the first full layout. (I skipped the opening first page.) Stampin’ Up! has made it so incredibly easy! They’ve loaded Simply Scrappin’ kits into the program, and all you have to do is pop in your pictures and write what you want in the text bar. Now I might actually get caught up on all my scrapbooking!

For all the facts about this fabulous new design tool, click on the items under "Creativity Goes Digital" in my left sidebar. You can order My Digital Studio online by simply clicking the "Order Online" button in the top right corner. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.
