A Look at the new In Colors
Here's my third and final posting of new colors in the color renovation for the 2010-11 Idea Book & Catalog. Stampin' Up! has given us a gorgeous new In Color palette, and we're fortunate enough to have these beautiful colors staying on for TWO years instead of just one! I'll give you the names below each card that I've made with Elements of Style stamp set. Greetings are from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Peach Parfait – A yummy strong peach – maybe think a light Pumpkin Pie.

Pear Pizzazz – I was really disappointed that Kiwi Kiss didn't make it back to the Core Colors, but this luscious green is almost it! It's a little less bright and pairs beautifully (no pun intended!) with Wild Wasabi and Garden Green.

Poppy Parade – When I look at Poppy, I think it's just red, but put it next to Real Red and you'll see that it has a lot of orange to it. We really don't have anything like this brand new color!

Concord Grape – When I first saw this color, I was convinced I'd never use it. After all, we have Elegant Eggplant. It was only on my shelf about a week before I made THIS CARD and now I'm absolutely lovin' it!

Blushing Bride – This is such a pretty soft mauve. I had originally thought it might replace Blush Blossom, but it's quite a bit darker and much pinker. Beautifully soft and feminine.

A Look at the Returning In Colors
It's so fun to reconnect with old friends! Please welcome back some of our favorite In Colors from the past, now becoming Core Colors and staying with us for a good long while! I'm continuing my grouping of 4" x 4" cards and showing you samples of the colors we've all been missing. To see a past post on new Core Colors using the same cards, click HERE. I used Elements of Style to stamp each card, along with sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Each color name is listed below the card.

Baja Breeze – will be joining our Subtles Collection and is lighter with a bit more green than Bashful Blue.

Riding Hood Red – Just a bit "quieter" than Real Red and not as dark as Cherry Cobbler, this red is sure to fit into lots of your projects! This beautiful color will join our Regals Collection.

River Rock – Returning in the Neutrals Collection, this color is a chameleon! Its color changes depending on what it's paired with. It's probably considered a true khaki.

Wild Wasabi – A lighter version of Garden Green, this gorgeous color is returning as part of the Subtles Collection.

Tangerine Tango – This Brights Collection addition is a combination of Only Orange and Pumpkin Pie.

Pacific Point – One of the most gorgeous blues we've had, this is the updated Brilliant Blue for the Brights Collection.
Be sure to purchase all of the new Stampin' Up! colors when they're available on July 1st.

A Look at the new Core Colors
There are now less than 2 weeks until the release of the 2010-11 Idea Book & Catalog, and the hot news is, of course, the huge color renovation! I created this group of 4" x 4" cards to show you all of the brand new Core Colors that Stampin' Up! has added to the palette. I used Elements of Style to stamp each card, along with sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Each color name is listed below the card.

Cherry Cobbler: A nice, deep red with vibrant tones and lots of life!

Early Espresso: I always thought Chocolate Chip a deep brown until I met this fabulous color!

Marina Mist: The PERFECT blue!

Cajun Craze: Really Rust with attitude! Love this "spicy" orange.

Daffodil Delight: Finally – a really useful bright yellow! Think Summer Sun updated for 2010.

Crumb Cake: While this color is technically not new, Stampin' Up! has renamed Kraft and has added a matching Classic Stamp Pad.
Stay tuned — I'll be sharing the group of returning In Colors that will join the Core Colors, as well as the brand new In Colors for 2010-12. Yes, that's right! In Colors will be staying on for two years instead of just one!

Spotlight on Elements of Style
One of my downline team members, Ruth Petrovich of Rochester, NY, made this great example of the spotlighting technique. And it's a great way to wish all you moms out there a very happy Mother's Day today!

Ruth used Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Very Vanilla to create her beautiful card. The floral stamp is from Elements of Style, and she created her spotlight with Watercolor Paper, an Aqua Painter and stamp pads. Using Watercolor Paper here really adds a lot of punch–it's just ever so slightly brighter than the Very Vanilla and it helps Ruth's watercoloring to come out just perfectly!
Have a wonderful day today!

Thank You Treat Holder
Here's a quick way to package a thank you treat for someone special!

I learned to make this fun treat holder at one of the Stampin' Up! conventions I attended, although I'm afraid I can't remember which one! I started with textured Going Gray card stock that measures 11" x 4" and scored at 4" and 5". I stamped using Basic Gray Classic Ink and Elements of Style, which will be available May 1st. I've already used this stamp set so many times; it's really fun and versatile. Just type "Elements of Style" into the search box at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar and you'll see lots of cards using this gorgeous set. Next came a strip of Pretty in Pink card stock stamped in Basic Gray Classic Ink using one of the sentiments from Thank You Kindly. A ribbon rose using Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon completes this gift. Tuck some matching treats in a Medium Flat Cellophane Bag.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 118611 Elements of Style $27.95 in wood OR
Item No. 120045 elements of Style $19.95 in clear mount
Item No. 111700 Thank You Kindly $13.95
Item No. 109053 Bravo Burgundy 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon $7.95
Item No. 109054 Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon $7.95
Item No. 102757 Medium Flat Cellophane Bags (50) $4.50

Paper Flower Hummingbird
I'm having lots of fun making these paper flowers and adding them to my crafting!

My color scheme came from the beautiful designer paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog called Shades of Spring. It's Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and So Saffron. The stamped images are from Elements of Style, a new stamp set that will be available on May 1st, from the Summer Mini Catalog. Click HERE, HERE and HERE to see other samples made with this great new set. I used Stampin' Write Markers to color the flower and filigree image directly on the rubber, and the hummingbird is cut out and adhered with Dimensionals. I used some Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon behind the flower.
The flower is made by cutting out Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper using the following:
- 1 flower from the smallest flower on the Flower Folds Die for the Big Shot
- 1 flower from the XL Fancy Flowers Punch
- 6 flowers from the Scallop Circle Punch
Just crumple each flower up, then smooth out and stack them in the order above. Using a Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack, pierce a hole through all 8 layers, then add a brad through the center. Work the petals of the flowers back to achieve the desired look.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 117160 Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper $9.95
Item No. 118611 Elements of Style stamp set wood mount $27.95 or clear mount $19.95
Item No. 117288 Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon $8.95
Item No. 115970 Flower Folds Bigz XL Die $42.95
Item No. 109043 Scallop Circle Punch $15.95
Item No. 118073 XL Fancy Flower Punch $15.95
Item No. 116631 Paper-Piercing Tool $3.50
Item No. 105826 Mat Pack $9.95
Heartfelt Stampers Swaps
There is so much talent in our Heartfelt Stampers team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators! I'm sharing just a few of my favorite swaps I received at our Team Time in March.
Here's a swap from Aly Schilling, my daughter and team leader. I love her unusual color combination. Here's Elements of Style again! Doesn't it have such a different look? View two other cards using this preview set from the Summer Mini Catalog HERE and HERE. You can order yours beginning May 1st!

Next is a beautiful card by Phyl Lyons. Phyl used Of the Earth Hostess stamp set, as well as Well Scripted, with a beautiful palette of Ruby Red, Bordering Blue, Old Olive and Whisper White. She used the Texturz Plates Kit #4 to add dimension to the Bordering Blue card stock.

Next is a gorgeous card from Pam Kane. Pam used the Level 2 hostess stamp set called Asian Artistry. I love her layout, especially all the layering and the torn and folded corners.

Here's a fun card from Christine Luce. Christine prepared her background by coloring with Watercolor Crayons in Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange and Pixie Pink, then used an AquaPainter to colorwash the background. She used Choo Choo stamp set and stamped the train image with StazOn Black Ink. Great card!

Next up is Patty Braun's beautifully simple card using C is for Cat. Notice that her special feline friend sports a blingy color made with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds. She embossed the background with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.

Jen Rios-Raner led our make-and-take project, and she showed us how to use the Tulipe Die with the Big Shot to make our own stencil. Then add color to your card stock by sponging on inks with the Sponge Daubers. We also added more interest to the stencil image by rolling it with the Very Vintage jumbo wheel found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. We added some other darling little details with the Scallop Trim Border Punch, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon and Pretty in Pink Sending Love Epoxy Brad. I always love Jen's deslgns!

Mambo Hummingbird
Elements of Style is sure to be the hot-selling stamp set once the Summer Mini Catalog is released on May 1st! I love the eclectic group of stamps in this set. You can find another sample of this set HERE.

Did you know that for just $.13 more per sheet of card stock, you can purchase 12"x12" card stock that is textured? I think it's well worth the money! This card looks so pretty by beginning with a base of Textured Bashful Blue card stock. The color scheme is Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo and Certainly Celery. I used Stampin' Write Markers to color direct to rubber on the flourish and flowers stamp, then stamped the hummingbird, cut it out and adhered it with Dimensionals. There's a piece of Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon, and the sentiment is also from this terrific stamp set!
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 118611 Elements of Style (once available on May 1st!)
Item No. 117288 Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon $8.95
Item No. 108695 12"x12" Assorted Card Stock in Soft Subtles $11.95

Last call for Syracuse NY Regional Seminar!
I've been very busy making 90 of the following card to take with me to the Syracuse Regional Seminar. Just a reminder — tomorrow is the LAST day that Stampin' Up! is accepting registrations for this fabulous event right in our own back yard. Want to join in the fun? Check out all the details HERE and contact me right away!

I started my card with Bordering Blue card stock, stamped with the same color ink with the En Francais background stamp. I felt like this was a decidedly Country French feel and this was just the perfect background stamp to use. Do you recognize the main image? You don't? That's because it isn't available yet! At Leadership Convention in January, everyone attending got the Elements of Style stamp set that will be featured in the next mini catalog coming out May 1st! I thought it would be fun to use a stamp set that not too many people own. There are such beautiful stamps in this set! There's a hummingbird and a flourish, coupled with a "for you" stamp and one that reas "Life is a matter of moments," as well as this beautiful floral stamp. I stamped it on Very Vanilla card stock with Basic Brown Ink, then used an Aqua Painter and Pretty in Pink, Always Artichoke, Bordering Blue and So Saffron Classic stamp pads to color them in. I spritzed on a little color with an Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker and Spritzer Tool. I tore the edge and added an additional torn edge layer of So Saffron card stock, then punched with the Horizontal Slot Punch, fed through a piece of Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon and tied it off with some Linen Thread. What was I thinking watercoloring 90 cards!
If you're attending the Friday session of the Regional Seminar in Syracuse and are reading this post, please stop by The Heartfelt Stampers tables and say hello! It would be so much fun to meet a fellow blogger!
Oh, and be sure to contact me about joining us at the Regional Seminar — you just won't want to miss it!
