Sea Street and Maritime Designer Paper

Sea Street

Stampin’ Up! is all about coordination – and they’ve hit a home run with the new Sea Street stamp set, coupled with the Maritime Designer Series Paper!  The color scheme is fresh with the addition of Coastal Cabana to the traditional Night of Navy and Real Red.  It really adds something special!

  • Did you notice the shimmery water look of the one background piece?  It’s Silver Foil Paper and it works perfectly with this card, although a bit hard to photograph!
  • The sentiment comes from Lots of Thanks stamp set.  It’s a stretch but I was thinking of A Thousand Leagues Under the Sea – I can hear you groaning now!
  • One of the most versatile accessories in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is the Basic Metal Buttons.  They’re super flat so they don’t add bulk to your card, and they go with just about everything.  Here I’ve run a bit of Real Red Taffeta Ribbon through the center and secured it with a Glue Dot.
  • All the pretty patterns in the Maritime Designer Series Paper make it easy to choose different pieces for the banners and background.

Train Traveler

Traveler train

Here’s another card using the Traveler stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  You may have missed my previous post using Traveler – find it HERE.

I saw a card in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog using only neutrals, and I really liked it.  I’m usually all about color, but I wanted to introduce you to a few new products.

  • The first new product is Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This ultra lightweight paper has a very vintage feel.  You’ll receive 24 12″x12″ sheets, 4 each of 6 double-sided designs, for just $12.95.
  • The second new product is the Kraft Cardstock.  You might have missed this little gem in the catalog – it’s on pg. 192 and doesn’t look like much, but I guarantee you’re going to love this cardstock – heavier than our regular cardstock with a beautifully natural kraft color.  There are 12 12″x12″ sheets to a package for just $5.95.
  • The third new product is the Zig Zag Embossing Folder.  It feels decidedly masculine on the Kraft Cardstock and I can see it’s going to be a really useful folder to have on hand.
  • I’ve used the Says It All stamp set for the happy birthday greeting stamped in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool.
  • I added a couple of metallic elements – the Gold Metallic Twine, a circle punched from the Gold Foil Paper and the addition of a gold brad from the Antique Brads collection.

Traveler and Tuesday Tidbits

Traveler

Today I’m excited to show you the new All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up!  This is such a versatile paper – lots of color and pattern choices, and it comes in a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ paper stack just right for card makers.

And don’t forget to read all the way through my post to get all the latest news, specials and deadlines!

  • You know me – I love using our pretty designer paper and making it easy to come up with a color scheme!  All Abloom has all of the following colors:  Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush – whew!
  • You’ll find this vintage suitcase as part of the Traveler stamp set, brand new to the 2014-15 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  I’ve stamped it in Mossy Meadow, one of the new 2014-16 In Colors, and cut it out using the Big Shot and Circle Framelits.
  • This beautiful sentiment is from the stamp set called Trust God.  I thought this card would be perfect for someone going out on a mission trip or heading off to college or even a change of jobs.
  • To scrunch up the Mossy Meadow Ribbon, simply begin by using a line of our new Fast Fuse Adhesive where you want the ribbon to be.  Hand pleat it and stick it into the adhesive on the card.  The new Fast Fuse will keep it in place!  It’s stronger than SNAIL Adhesive but a little less strong than Sticky Strip and a little easier to use since it rolls out like SNAIL.
  • I punched out a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock with my Small Oval Punch, snipped it off and added a Pink Pirouette Button from the Subtles Button Pack to the bottom left corner.  A piece of Linen Thread makes a nice accent through the button.

Embellished Events and Something to Say

Embellished Events and Something to Say

Once again, I’ve turned to my Color Coach for help on today’s card, this time the new 2014-16 In Color Cards.  I want to continue showing you these gorgeous new colors, but I also want to show you that they’re going to coordinate beautifully with all of your existing colors.

  • I looked up Blackberry Bliss and my Color Coach showed me that it matched nicely with Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo.  Then I added just a bit of Hello Honey.
  • I paired an old and a new stamp set together for this birthday card – Embellished Events for the cake image and Something to Say, a brand new sentiment set, for the saying.  The cake is markered direct to the rubber stamp, and I’ve added some Dazzling Details to the flames and a row of Rhinestones to the bottom of the cake plate.  Another Rhinestone decorates the center of the flower created with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
  • Framelits come in so handy, this time to make a quick scallop edge to the Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the Large Scallop Edgelit.
  • You’re going to fall in love with using the new In Color Satin Ribbon!  The colors are beautiful, and it ties so nicely!  Why not join the Ribbon Share and receive 2 yds. each of all 5 of the new In Color ribbons, plus many more!  Check out my Ribbon Share HERE.

Here’s what one happy customer says about my Ribbon Shares:

“I got the package of ribbons from the shares in today’s mail.  This may have changed my mind about the new in colors! They are prettier in person than in the catalog or even on sample cards I have seen.  Thanks for all that it takes to make a share possible. I can’t imagine measuring, cutting, and wrapping that much ribbon!”

Geometric Triangles

Geometric Triangles

I’m having fun getting to know the Stampin’ Up! 2014-16 In Colors!  They’re beautifully rich and wonderful to use!  If you missed it, I’ve posted another card using the In Colors HERE.

  • I started out my card idea for today because I’ve just received my new Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder and I really wanted to show it to you.  Just love this one – it’s a must in your collection!
  • While I was at it, I realized that triangles are in!  I pulled out my Triangle Punch and punched out a solid color triangle from 4 of the In Color cardstocks.
  • And that led me to try cutting a Whisper White cardstock triangle for the sentiment from Geometrical stamp set stamped in Mossy Meadow ink.  Don’t think I’ve ever stamped a sentiment on a triangle before, but I thought it was perfect for this card.
  • I added a Blackberry Bliss cardstock arrow cut from one of the small shapes contained in the Label Card Thinlits Dies assortment and some Gold Sequins for a little accent.
  • You’re going to love the lush, smooth In Color Satin Stitched Ribbon this year – it’s just yummy and ties beautifully!  Here is Tangelo Twist.

Something to Say and I Like You

Something to Say

I have a quick & Easy card for you today – something you can create in just a few minutes, but I think it packs a punch!  Unfortunately, there are many times these encouraging words could be a comfort to those around you – sympathy, illness, any of life’s challenges.

  • I’ve combined three stamp sets – Something to Say for the beautiful sentiment, I Like You (a hostess-exclusive stamp set) and Party Pennants, a stamp fro the July 2013 Paper Pumpkin kit for the Old Olive background behind the sentiment.
  • I know you’re waiting patiently (or not!) for the release of the Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities Markers!  Let me tell you, they’re worth the wait!  There’s never been an easier way to color in images!  I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight to color in my pretty flower image.  I created another card using the same stamp and color scheme HERE.  Word on the street is that they should be available later in June or possibly into July, so sit tight – they’re coming!

Change of Blog Updates Delivery Service

frustration

Well, this isn’t a picture of me, but it really could be over the last few days!  I found out from a few of my blog readers that you weren’t receiving my blog posts delivered as emails.  Feedburner, the newsletter/email delivery service I have used for the last five years for sharing my Stamp With Kriss blog updates by email and RSS feed, is not working properly and I needed to find a better solution.

Many of you received an email from me this week (through Feedblitz–the new provider) transferring your subscription from Feedburner to Feedblitz.  If you received it, you don’t need to do anything further.  You should have begun receiving updates yesterday, unless you opted out.

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL TRANSFER TO FEEDBLITZ this week, you simply need to subscribe to delivery of my blog updates through Feedblitz by filling out the space in the top left corner of my blog that looks like this:

blog updates

If you aren’t sure whether you already subscribed or are active, you can try to subscribe at the same link and it will let you know if you are already active or step you through the subscription process if you haven’t.

To ensure that the updates you want actually reach your inbox, please add the FeedBlitz email address — FeedBlitz@mail.feedblitz.com — to your email address book.

Thank you for your patience during this transition. It’s had its frustrating moments, but I’m committed to bringing you regular posts and ensuring that you receive them!
