Gently Falling Card Set

Have I got a treat for you today!!!! I have an ENTIRE Fall card set project to show. I designed this card set for my September demonstrator team Stamp & Chat that I hold once a quarter. The idea behind this set of cards is to choose a small selection of Stampin' Up! products to showcase throughout all of the cards so that my team could then offer this as a class for their customers. I designed each card to teach an easy technique (or two!). With the exception of a few small additions, I chose to focus on Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, Gently Falling stamp set, Perfectly Penned stamp set for the 4 sentiments, a roll of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and a package of Basic Pearls. The cards and 4 Very Vanilla envelopes all fit nicely in the file folder card case featuring a Spice Cake Designer Button.

The first card features a "rock and roll" method for creating the two-toned leave of More Mustard and Pool Party (really 3-toned when counting the second stamp in Soft Suede). Dazzling Details gives the leaf an iridescent glitter. I also showed how to create the ribbon rose by twisting the ribbon and laying it into Sticky Sheets. Leaves are punched using the 5-Petal Flower Punch.

This card shows how to gather the ribbon into a row of Sticky Strip for an interesting look, as well as layering our 5/8" Jumbo Brads with a card stock circle and a pearl for added interest. Postage Stamp Punch is used for the designer paper.

This card highlights the beautiful two-step stamping of the Gently Falling stamps. Torn edges around the Get Well sentiment add some more interest. The pearls were lost on the busy background designer paper, so I backed them with Pool Party card stock circles created with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. The Eyelet Border Punch gave the More Mustard background some pop.

The final card in the set uses Post-It notes to mask around the edges of the background of the leaf then sponging Crumb Cake Classic Ink inside. Stamp the leaf image over the top using Soft Suede Classic Ink.

You ladies rock! And here's the special card I made them.

I was giving out these cards at our Oktoberfest weekend retreat, so I wanted to keep with the circus theme. The red and white star designer paper from Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper pack was perfect for my sales stars! But I couldn't stop there – I cut out two size of stars using the Stars #2 Die with the Big Shot die-cutting machine and Red and Silver Glimmer Paper, holding them together with a Tempting Turquoise Glimmer Brad from the Brights collection. The Daffodil Delight card stock is run through the Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Stampin' Write Markers direct to the rubber stamp create our "you're a star" sentiment from Workshop Words stamp set, and a few Basic Rhinestones give even more bling.

More from Oktoberfest Retreat Weekend
I began posting about our Heartfelt Stampers' retreat weekend HERE. Today, I'll show you some of the adorable gifts and goodies we all received for coming.
.jpg)
Here are some of the treats that everyone who attended received. Everything was in keeping with the circus theme.

This was a little note card that accompanied a cookie made from Stampin' Up!'s new Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps – it was packaged in a cello bag with a pretty red bow on top, but I ate it! Am I terrible? I didn't even wait to snap a photo!

Here is our second pillow gift. Notice the darling tag made from Under The Big Top stamp set. And look at that gorgeous Red Glimmer Paper punched out for the bar bells! It also uses a Mini Clothespin to keep the bag shut. And inside was some ruffled ribbon.

I showed you a picture before of our amazing popcorn popper – well, here are the containers we used to dish it up! The popcorn motif was created from the Cupcake Builder Punch, as well as a punch from Itty Bitty Punch Pack. So clever!

And here's the card I received for my sales for the month of September. Love this idea of creating a circus tent! It's made by punching lots of card stock pieces from the Word Window Punch and another image from the Under the Big Top stamp set.
I bet you're wondering how YOU can join us for our next retreat! There couldn't be a better time than right now!

5 Years with Stampin’ Up!

The sentiment is from Curly Cute stamp set and the pretty border is punched with the new Lace Ribbon Border Punch. The flower is a single stamp called Triple Treat Flower. Congratulations to my Team members – August 2011
A sincere "From the Heart Stampers" congratulations goes out the top three sales people on my team for the month of August! They are:
Debbie Sowards
Nicole Bertrand
and
Pam Kane
You ladies rock! And here's the special card I made them.

This was a fun and different layout for me. It didn't photograph so well because the base of the card is Baja Breeze, but the top right piece is Whisper White going all the way to the edges, with the top corner rounded using the 3/16" Corner Punch. The image comes from Simply Soft, a hostess-exclusive stamp set that I just adore! This was so much fun coloring in with 4 different Stampin' Write Markers – So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard and Old Olive – with just a touch of White Gel Pen at the base of the flowers to set them off. The sentiment is from another hostess-exclusive stamp set called Perfect Words – in fact these two fabulous stamp sets share a page in our Idea Book & Catalog! There's a bit of So Saffron Designer Paper from Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper pack and Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon with an Antique Brad adds some more interest. The pretty little white border is Whisper White card stock punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The strip of card stock that it borders is Cherry Cobbler.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 122565 Simply Soft wood OR
Item No. 122567 Simply Soft clear

One more Convention card!

I have one final card to show you from my Convention Make & Takes – this one was the toughest to have it turn out just right, but I finally figured out to line the sentiment up with the blocks on my grid paper and to use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, and voila – perfectly lined up words from It's Your Day stamp set! Raining Flowers stamp set creates the pretty posies; the right one is popped up on Dimensionals as are all three centers. I loved this interesting ribbon treatment. We used a piece of Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon then centered some Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon on top. Ribbons are held on with a staple at either end. Color scheme is Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Island Indigo. So pretty!
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Item No. 123682 It's Your Day $8.95
Item No. 122765 Raining Flowers wood $32.95 OR
Item No. 122767 Raining Flowers clear $28.95
Item No. 119256 Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon $5.95
Item No. 122974 Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon $9.95

Pat Adams Schmidt

Lots of new stuff included in this card! I began with a Whisper White card stock base then added Calypso Coral. Next comes some designer paper from the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper pack bordered with Daffodil Delight card stock cut out with the Tasteful Trim die and the Big Shot. Basic Gray card stock borders the pretty butterfly from Creative Elements stamp set. I added Rhinestones and some paper piercing. The sentiment comes from the hostess stamp set Perfect Words. A couple more swaps
Here are a couple more swaps I made at our Stamp Fest shoebox swap.

Here's a cute baby card created by Christine L. It could also be a wonderful birthday card by changing up the tiny tag. Christine used the single stamp called Elebration along with stamp pads and an Aqua Painter for coloring in the image. And I love the new Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon! So cute!

And here's Davina A's beautiful swap, using Nature's Pace stamp set. Davina dresses this elegant card up with some Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon. The image is easily colored in with Stampin' Write Markers. How beautiful!
Language of Friendship & Last Day to Register!

Here's a bright, beautiful card I received from my upline, Aly Schilling, to congratulate me on my sales and recruiting for the month of August. I love the color combination she used! When I first saw Language of Friendship stamp set in the new Idea Book & Catalog, it wasn't my favorite set. But I've seen a few samples for the set now, and it's growing on me! I love that it's designed to use with two punches – the Boho Blossoms Punch and the Bird Builder Punch. And at just $15.95 for wood and $11.95 for clear, this little stamp set packs a punch! And do you notice any brand new product from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog?! A beautiful new 3/8" quilted satin ribbon in Early Espresso is coming your way on September 1st!
