Congratulations to my Team Members – November 2011

A sincere "From the Heart Stampers" congratulations goes out to the top sales people on my team for the month of November!  We had a wonderful month with record high sales and 4 new team members joining us in November!  You ladies rock!  But I really goofed – I gave out everyone's cards before I realized I hadn't taken a picture of it!  So instead of the congratulations card, you'll see the same card that I made my team members but with a different sentiment.  This one's for my husband for his birthday.

Gently Falling Card Set

Have I got a treat for you today!!!!  I have an ENTIRE Fall card set project to show.  I designed this card set for my September demonstrator team Stamp & Chat that I hold once a quarter.  The idea behind this set of cards is to choose a small selection of Stampin' Up! products to showcase throughout all of the cards so that my team could then offer this as a class for their customers.  I designed each card to teach an easy technique (or two!).  With the exception of a few small additions, I chose to focus on Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, Gently Falling stamp set, Perfectly Penned stamp set for the 4 sentiments, a roll of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and a package of Basic Pearls.  The cards and 4 Very Vanilla envelopes all fit nicely in the file folder card case featuring a Spice Cake Designer Button.

The first card features a "rock and roll" method for creating the two-toned leave of More Mustard and Pool Party (really 3-toned when counting the second stamp in Soft Suede).  Dazzling Details gives the leaf an iridescent glitter.  I also showed how to create the ribbon rose by twisting the ribbon and laying it into Sticky Sheets.  Leaves are punched using the 5-Petal Flower Punch.

This card shows how to gather the ribbon into a row of Sticky Strip for an interesting look, as well as layering our 5/8" Jumbo Brads with a card stock circle and a pearl for added interest.  Postage Stamp Punch is used for the designer paper.

This card highlights the beautiful two-step stamping of the Gently Falling stamps.  Torn edges around the Get Well sentiment add some more interest.  The pearls were lost on the busy background designer paper, so I backed them with Pool Party card stock circles created with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  The Eyelet Border Punch gave the More Mustard background some pop.

The final card in the set uses Post-It notes to mask around the edges of the background of the leaf then sponging Crumb Cake Classic Ink inside.  Stamp the leaf image over the top using Soft Suede Classic Ink.

More swaps from some talented gals

I'd like to share with you a couple more swaps I received from my team members at our July Stamp Fest.

First up is a fun swap from Laura S. showcasing the 2011-13 In Colors.  I love this simple but effective card using the Big Shot and the Tasteful Trims Die to do most of the work!  The image is from Happiest Birthday Wishes, a hostess-exclusive stamp set, and it's markered direct to rubber using the In Color Stampin' Write Markers.

Sad to say, I don't know who to give credit to for this beauty.  I love the color combo here – Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Basic Black make such a statement!  There's lots of fun elements – designer paper, textured embossing folder, punches and a wonderful image from Sweets for the Sweet stamp set.  Sentiment is from Thank You Kindly.

This final one is the creative work of Sheila E.  She's used one of my favorite stamp sets, Simply Soft – a hostess-exclusive set – for the two-step stamping.  Tiny Pearls are in the centers of the flowers to dress them up, and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch adds the perfect accent.  Oh, so pretty!

One more Convention card!

I have one final card to show you from my Convention Make & Takes – this one was the toughest to have it turn out just right, but I finally figured out to line the sentiment up with the blocks on my grid paper and to use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, and voila – perfectly lined up words from It's Your Day stamp set!  Raining Flowers stamp set creates the pretty posies; the right one is popped up on Dimensionals as are all three centers.  I loved this interesting ribbon treatment.  We used a piece of Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon then centered some Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon on top.  Ribbons are held on with a staple at either end.  Color scheme is Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Island Indigo.  So pretty!

Paper YoYo

I've really been wanting to try a paper yoyo, and now that we have the new Simply Scored Scoring Tool, this fun project was a breeze.  Just cut a 1" x12" strip of designer paper and score every 1/4".  Fold back and forth like a fan, joining the ends with Sticky Strip.  Work it into a circle and adhere.  It's that easy and the results are "wow"!  For this card, I kept it simple and let the paper yoyo take center stage.  Just Add Cake Designer Paper was the perfect choice!  Notice how the So Saffron designer paper in the background has numbers ending in 6?  My granddaughter's 6th birthday party is around the corner, and I thought this would be perfect for her.  The stem comes from Sweetheart stamp set and is stamped in Wild Wasabi Classic Ink.  The greeting is from A Word For You and is markered to use just part of the sentiment.  I punched a 1" circle of Poppy Parade card stock for the center, then added a So Saffron flower button with some White Baker's Twine through the middle, held on with a Mini Glue Dot.

Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be highlighting projects using some of the wonderful new products in this year's Holiday Mini.

Here's a birthday card I designed specifically to show off the wonderful new Simply Scored Tool from Stampin' Up!  This fun and easy scoring tool is exclusive to Stampin' Up! and makes scoring a breeze.  I love that it comes with place markers so that I know for sure I'm scoring at the right points.  It's also great for doing multiples of one project since you can put in your markers and go quickly through all of your pieces of card stock.  You'll have the ability to score every 1/8" by using the stylus that comes with the Simply Scored Tool.

The envelope base card stock is Concord Crush and measures 4-1/2" x 12" and is scored at 5-1/2" and 11".  Fold at the 5-1/2" mark and use Sticky Strip to adhere the sides together.  The 1" flap creates the top of the envelope; I used the Scallop Edge Punch to decorate the edge and then placed Cheerful Treat Designer Paper mounted on a piece of card stock behind that flap so that the closure would extend lower on the front.  A Lucky Limeade Brad is a faux closure, and the front is further decorated with designer paper run through the Big Shot with the Fun Flowers Die and a Glimmer Brad for its center.  And don't you just love the yummy Luck Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon!

Behind the Lucky Limeade Brad is Velcro for a closure, and inside is the birthday message!

Here's a terrific Christmas card if you don't want to go with the traditional red and green.  I love the clean, simple lines that black and white create.  Wonderful card from Julia H.  It uses the penguin from Zoo Review, a terrific animal stamp set you can use year round – especially nice for masculine cards!  The sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Next is a card from Jackie B. using Up, Up & Away stamp set.  Don't you just love the popped up air balloon?  It's made by stamping once on the main card then three times on scrap Whisper White card stock, cutting out, folding in half then adhering them together.  So cute!

Guest Designer and Fun Layout

Great Color Combo!

Doesn't this yummy card just ooze "royalness"?  It's Concord Crush,  one of the In Colors, paired with Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler.  Love it!  This card was made for me by my daughter and upline Aly Schilling to celebrate my promotion to Sr. Manager!  It was a fun time with balloons, flowers and even a terrific gift – the brand new Petal Cone Die for my Big Shot!  The stamped circle motif is from Just Believe and "celebrate" comes from Fabulous Phrases – a set I have and keep forgetting to pull out!  It fits perfectly with the Word Window Punch.  There's lots and lots of interest with this card.  Two Regals Collection Buttons get a "dress up" with a thin piece of Whisper White card stock through the centers.  Several corners are rounded with the Corner Punch, There's a scallop circle behind the stamped image using the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and coordinating scallops at the bottom from the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  The Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder create the texture on the Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The fabulous Concord Crush polka dot paper comes from the Hostess Level 1 In Color Designer Series Paper Pack, and it's all topped off with a piece of gorgeous 1/2" Stitched-Poly Concord Crush Ribbon.  And to top it all off, this incredible card was made using the Stampin' Sound Recordable Card so when I opened it, Aly gave me a big congratulations with her own voice! Whew – now that's a special card!
